This is not just a plain steak and potatoes type restaurant.

"Went for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed it. She had the filet mignon - great first taste reaction ("OMG this is fabulous!" agreed I had a taste), I had the delicious and piquant etouffe (shrimp and crawfish), after a tasty crabcake appetizer. The portions aren't huge but neither are they the extreme of nouvelle cuisine, you will be satisfied. The wine was a fine compliment to the meal and the dessert - cheesecake and berries - and coffee afterwards topped it off superbly. Our servers were vivacious, friendly, and attentive. Well worth it and recommended."

"There's nothing there we didn't like. It seems strange because of all the unfamiliar foods, but we tried so many new things and only asked for more. The service is great, our waitress was so attentive and her helpers all had a smile on. I definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a good night at a jazz joint."

"If you're looking for something different, then give this place a try! The Orleans inspired dishes did not disappoint! Our table had the blackened fish, blackened chicken, and the crab baked mahi mahi. The blackened chicken and fish were very good and and some nice heat. The mahi mahi was flaky and buttery. I would highly recommend Springs Orleans!"

"New to the Colorado Springs area and based on a co-workers recommendation, my husband and I planned dinner at Springs Orleans for the first time. We were impressed by the clean, restored historic exterior appearance of the building. We were greeted immediately in a friendly manner, seated right away.- Since it was our first visit, our server gave us an overview of the menu & provided recommendations; we received very attentive service. - Everything was served just as ordered. Food appearance, taste, flavors, menu selection, service and atmosphere were outstanding! We have made Springs Orleans our number 1 restaurant for N'Orleans style food and highly recommend this establishment!"

"This was my second visit to Springs Orleans, the first was a typical Saturday night which I enjoyed. Brunch was a bummer. No menu advertised for mother's day but the Easter menu was still on their website so we assumed they'd be the same. Not so. We were charged extra for the beignets. Also, while we chose to pay for the bottomless mimosas we were charged for coffee and juice, at a brunch buffet! The buffet line was awkward, items weren't restocked, and the line became unacceptably long and slow. Won't visit or recommend Springs Orleans for brunch."

"The food was great, but the logistics were wanting. The service staff was working hard to keep up with the patrons, but the rush was challenging. There was a slow consolidated buffet station that caused a long line to get food. It might have been easier to serve each table from the menu. I have been to Springs Orleans before and have always had a great experience, so I believe Mother's Day was an anomology which would be mitigated by better flow and perhaps more staff. I'll be back for a non holiday meal for sure."

"Springs Orleans is beautifully decorated with great ambiance. Its in a great downtown location. The food isn't bad, but it isn't great or particularly Cajun/Creole. Who takes a beautifully cooked/seasoned piece of Mahi Mahi, tops with a crab meat filled crab cake (delicious) but then adds a layer of cheese over the top? I love cheese, but this dish was significantly better after I scraped it off. The crawfish etoufee was very good and close to authentic, but the accompanying rice was seriously overcooked - think mush. The wines by the glass list is OK - just standards but with a bigger mark up than typical in Colorado Springs. For better food and service try Marigolds. For better Cajun/Creole without the pretension go to Culpeppers."

"Good Brunch. Not as elaborate as Cheyenne Mountain Country Club but the food was very good. The hash browns were notable since they were fresh not the reconstituted shredded type. Crisp and not greasy. The shrimp were very fresh but be warned you have to peel them just as you do in New Orleans. Remoulade sauce was excellent as were the salad dressings. Obviously freshly prepared which was surprising. The beef and pork tenderloins were excellent. The breakfast meats were not greasy and tasty. I did not have an omelette but two others in my party were pleased. The usual suspects as far as the breakfast pastries. The beignets were not as light as what you find in New Orleans but were good."

"Had reservations for Easter Sunday brunch ... was seated timely (early really) in the balcony area ... suggest better ventilation in that area as it was rather warm ... food was good, but would suggest that when you have a buffet that the omlet station be set up separately from the main buffet line as it slowed down the flow considerably!!! Really beautiful reasaurant and very much has the New Orleans French Quarter appeal ... I'm formerly from the New Orleans area, Metairie."

"It was my first time here and I had the best experience all around. Our waiter was so cool, and he never let my drink get even half empty & he had an excellent attitude. We had appetizers that were amazing, I like Moscato and yours was the best I've ever had. I ordered the Shrimp Ettoufe and it was so good especially for being the first time I've ever had it. I will definitely be going back with my husband. We found our favorite date night place. I was actually surprised with our bill, I had expected it to be a lot more than it was because it was so good. I recommend this place to anyone who wants to enjoy a good night with good staff, food, and atmosphere. Not one complaint from me..Thank you.."

"Loved the food, for the most part, as usual. Excellent shrimp and crawfish etoufee. Their beignets are the best I've tasted since New Orleans. They also had a piano player on board, supplemented by good jazz from their music system. Paintings around the walls give Springs Orleans a New Orleans ambiance.
Our only objection about food was that my wife's single blackened catfish filet was small for the price and served with an equally small amount of coleslaw. The filet looked like it had been shaved in half from a larger piece. The other concern here is noise from their open floor plan and proximity of the bar to dinner seating, which can produce ear-piercing conversation--with nothing to baffle it--on all sides."

"First we were told over the phone to park in a surface parking lot and we would have our parking validated. When we arrived they said they do not do this anymore. Second, there was a large piece of ham bone in my wife's red beans and rice. We were offered no concession by the waitress or manager. Third, even though the maitre d' acknowledged our reservations made by OpenTable we received an email later saying our reservations were cancelled. OpenTable corrected this problem the next day for us.
The online children's menu says two items are all you can eat. The in restaurant does not say this, though they did not charge us for extra noodles for our son.
Overall the food was ok, piano player was great, drinks were good."

"Overall good experience, but my reservation was not honored... Made one for 715pm should up at 713pm and had no table available i waited for 45 minutes until we were seated, and did not have table I asked for on website. Did not honor my request on website reservation... Service was horrible felt very stereo typed...and felt like I didn't belong, because of the server... I was a paying customer, regardless of my appearance I could afford to eat there and paid my bill like all the other customers in there! Asked for certain expensive things on the menu and the server would give me looks like " maybe you should order cheaper" I thought it was my imagination, but my wife noticed and felt the same experience... Food was amazing, but overlooked."

"My husband and I visited the Restaurant as we were in town for the night from Denver. I am from Louisiana originally so was very excited to find this restaurant with all of my favorite foods. We took our 5.5 year old daughter with us and enjoyed an amazing dinner. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful and has lots of art and a wonderful charm. All of the staff that we encountered from the hostess to the the cocktail server to our waiter, were all overly friendly and very professional. Both my husband and I are in the hospitality business and love to find new places to dine. The Spring Orleans has definitely moved to the top of the list for Colorado restaurants. We will definitely be returning."

"OUR DRINKS WERE NEVER REFILLED. THE FOOD WASNT EVEN CLOSE TO NEW ORLEANS EVEN THOUGH THEY HAD THE SAME NAME SUCH AS GUMBO. IT TASTED LIKE BROWN GRAVY WITH A LITTLE SAUSAGE IN IT. MY HUSBAND'S POBOY WAS TWICETHE PRICE IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN. HE COULDN'T DECIDE BETWEEN COD OR SHRIMP THE WAITRESS SUGGESTED HALF AND HALF SHE NEVER MENTIONED IT WOULD DOUBLE THE PRICE NO POBOY IS WORTH $20. NOT TO MENTION THEY DIDN'T CONFIRM OUR OPEN TABLE RESERVATION."

"When so many restaurants only do call-ahead seating it was nice to be able to make a reservation for 10 people on Valentine's night. I had the red beans and rice with pork chops. I thought the flavors were unique and very good. The corn relish was yummy. It took a little longer to get the food to our table, probably because there was 10 of us. The only issue I had was one couple's meal didn't come out until the rest of us were almost done eating and then they didn't get any kind of discount for the very late meal. The waitress was very nice though and we enjoyed the live piano music."

"Having grown up in Louisiana, I was looking forward to the thought of eating Cajun/creole food. We had the gator sauce piquante. The gator was overdone and rubbery. The étouffée was way over spiced to the point of not being able to Taste anything else. The chowder however was delicious."

"I found this place at the last minute, because everything was overly booked for Valentines, and I am so happy it worked out this way, because it turned out to be one of the best restaurants I've been to in Colorado Springs. I think due to the location, the restaurant doesn't get seen as much as it should, because it definitely is 5 star. I think some people would think that the prices were a little steep, but I think the prices are a great reflection of the experience you will receive. The food, service, facility..EVERYTHING was great. I have no complaints..and I definitely will be back."
