"the overall experience was mediocre....the manager gave us the wrong price for the feature meal, told us the side of veggie would be asparagus but turned out to be broccolini and was very vague with the seafood description. So we found out once the food arrived that the seafood wasn't a side, it was a saucy concoction on top of the steak.....we all felt a little misled once we received the food and the bill at the end of the meal. The manager also made a sly comment about server before she arrived at our table and the server made a sly comment about the manager at one point during the evening. I felt it was unprofessional, it didn't seem like a lighthearted joke it was perceived as a passive aggressive way of addressing prior issues"

"I have been going to Union for quite some time now and the one thing that never improves is the noise level. Its so loud in there that you can barely hear yourself think. I understand that they were trying to fix that, however based on my visit yesterday.. it hasn't been.
I would also like to request that you add sweet potatoes fries to your menu. I heard people talking about that and it would be a healthier choice for some people.

"Very happy with choice. All meals were good - we had mostly saladas, with steak, salmon, etc.
Most important thing was service - good, nonintrusive, and all meals were brought quickly and at SAME TIME which is a personal pet peeve. No one had to watch their food get cold waiting for the rest to arrive... priceless!
My only complaint is noise level - like many new places, all hard surfaces, no sound deadening, and became very hard to hear each other."

"The service was excellent. I looked at beef on draft and asked to sample a couple of new beers before I bought one and the server said no problem. Overall, the ambiance was nice as this was a dinner for me and my wife. The Korean tacos were awesome, but the almond crusted chicken tenders were nothing special. My pad Thai was a generous portion, but it lacked any real favour, I had to add some hot sauce to it. Overall, for my first tine there, I was happy with my visit."

"Great place for a casual lunch. I've been on the lookout for a great veggie burger, and this is the place - it was really tasty, and had great toppings; the addition of avocado slices was great. The service was attentive; the prices weren't bargains, but were fair. My friend had the club sandwich - it looked amazinig, and she said it was delicious. I'd go back."

"Great service from Ena--friendly, prompt and energetic. I had two appies. The generous salad was fresh and tasty and the short-rib tacos were delicious. My husband enjoyed his meal (I believe it was salmon).
We were seated far from the bar area but any closer and we would have found it too loud."

"This location is good in terms of its proximity to the office particularly for those who do not get out to lunch often...a nice change of scenery. It is not my first or second choice though due to the menu...although the menu has a variety of items I find that it does not capture my interest, I order the almond crusted chicken fingers as you cannot possibly go wrong with that - but it is not my desire to eat that when I am out for lunch etc. There used to be a lovely pasta dish that was on the menu but a decision made to remove - we were told due to popularity and cost to make it. It was thee reason I enjoyed the restaurant and unfortunately now removed. I have gone with team members after work for drinks; service is an issue."

"It was definitely a pleasant surprise to come across a happening bar / social gathering scene in the suburbs. Good beer selection and appetizer choices. "I have been at Union Social many times and have always found the food to be excellent. However, on my last visit I ordered "Margherita". I found the flatbread to be hard and very greasy. Perhaps that is the nature of this particular item dish but I wouldn't order it again. I will, however, return as I have not had any "dislikes" before."

"I took a group out from work for lunch, to thank them for some work they did for me. The service was terrific, and the servers went out of there way to get food to us so we could get back to the office on time for another meeting. In the rush, the one of the salad's came to us with dressing already on (when I asked for it on the side), and one of my colleague's ordered chicken on a Ceasar Salad, and instead she got a spring mix with chicken on the top (not a big deal) but she did send it back. As I said, servers were rushed (our fault) because we had to be back to the office by 1PM sharp. We sat down at 12:00 noon right on, and given the time, I think the servers did extremely well. It was busy, & noise level made it hard hear."

"This was my second time at Union Social Eatery. This time we were seven women and comfortably fit in the booth made for 7..it was great as we could all talk to eachother. Our server was amazing..we got there at 6:30 and left at 10 and no one rushed us out even though the place was full. I will definately make this one of my favourtie places to go."

"Union Social is in a mixed commercial / residential areal. Part of a rather unique strip mall where the buildings cover a whole block facing in with parking lot the whole center of the block. The parking lot is my only issue with the restaurant. You really need to keep an eye open as most mall patrons are too busy with their phones to watch for other traffic. Restaurant is open concept, menu is eclectic in a good way and quality is excellent. Servers are friendly and you always get excellent service. Great place to watch sports on the weekend especially if you want something better than boring pub grub! You must try the Truffle Fries, they are addictive. I really recommend reservations for lunch or an early dinner."

The food is amazing-- Please don't take the Pad Thai off your menu.

"Overall the food was very good. Our table had the club house, the veggie burger and the steak sandwich. For $1 more I was able to substitute my fries for the cool bean salad. Our only complaint was the steak sandwich was quite grissily but the part that was edible was very good."

"A very meaty, nicely grilled burger with a very clean tasting toothsome bun. EXCELLENT almond coated chicken strips - juicy and crispy. Fries and salad were also very good. Nice server and good wine list to boot."

"Went to the Union Social for lunch time. Very glad we got there early because the place filled up very fast. It is definitely a lively place. The service was very friendly and efficient. We shared the Taco appetizer which were a bit messy, but delicious! I had the Steak Salad, and the steak was prepared perfectly. My friend has the Smokehouse burger and fries and couldn't stop raving about it.
It's a gem in the neighbourhood and I look forward to going back again. I'll even drive out of my way now to try it out with family at dinner time too."

"The service was great and the food was fresh and inspired.This neighbourhood spot has become a favorite for my wife and me. We decided to share our special place with another couple for Valentines Day and they are now big fans.Big plus is the kitchen is open late (till around 11 - 12 on Fridays and Saturdays). You can get a fresh (never frozen) gourmet burger and fries for less than you would pay at any of the new trendy places (Hero, 5 Guys) and maybe even McDonald's but no comparison in quality and ambiance. Only complaint is we were seated too close to the door and my wife got a chill (maybe that was good? She did cuddle up)and a Steak special of the day is too predictable."

"Excellent dinner and service. I've been there many times my only complaint is that its very difficult to talk to one another because of the noise. Music was very loud during dinner and we all left with a hoarse voice."
