"Loved it !!! Great design, interesting menu of small plates (most of which worked well for our party of 3). We received a very warm welcome into this well-designed space. Seems they have outdoor seating too which we'll try when the weather warms up.
Rather noisy, but not overwhelming. We'll definitely be back."

"I took my in laws there and we sat outside for the first time this spring.
The drinks were good. The food for some was good but arrived at different times.
I was waiting for mine while others in the party were half way through their brunch.
Mine arrived, I had asked for eggs over medium and they were almost raw.
They took it back and it came back full of grease and the arugula on top was drowned in a very
acidic dressing that killed all the flavors. I told them that I was dissatisfied and they basically said ok and
then ignored me. I would have expected them to comp my meal."

"Food was great, but service uneven for a Sunday nite. Although there was only one table filled, we were seated directly in front of the noisy kitchen and high traffic area of the hostess stand. We were then seated at the table of our choice in a lower traffic area. We were given menus, but waited for drinks, trying in vain to catch an eye. Bussing was good, however.
I have eaten here 3 times, and food was always remarkable, but the noise level in even a half filled room is not conducive to pleasant dining. Not recocmmended for indoor dining, unless you enjoy shouting."

"Tuna tartare and scallops absolutely delicious. Try the corn fritters and pear salad too. Food is a little spicy and menu is limited so not great for kids. However we brought our notoriously picky five year old daughter and ended up loving the sea scallops. The suckling pig sounded good but was disappointing but that was the only thing. Chocolate lava cake to die for. And the mixed drinks are well crafted. Oh yeah - you ahould know that my mom who hates lamb really enjoyed the barbacoa. Not cheap but very very good."

"All the food is very good. The service is small plates. They recommend 2-3 per person which could come to almost $60 pp before drinks and gratuity. If you are sharing with 4 people you literally get 1 bite of everything which I think is a bit frustrating. I would like some type of bread served and some more small choices such as salads and vegetables. The dessert was good but ridiculously small for $7. It was a chocolate cake with a scoop of ice cream that was the size of a melon ball. The salted carmel topping was less than a drop. The mojito was very good but could have used a bit more liquor and a little less sugar. The place is bustling and the food is very good and not something you would find in Skokie."

"Our first time there and we will positively return, despite Libertad being 25 minutes from our home. The food was simply outstanding--the Poblano pepper, the Tacquitoes and the Suckling Pig. Plus the dessert--an apple crisp with salted caramel ice cream was just wonderful. The margaritas were above average as well. Service was very quick and attentive. The noise level is relatively loud, because the restaurant is small--but the food and service make up for the noise level. We have already told several friends and relatives about Libertad. Let's just hope that it does not become too popular."

"I couldn't believe how good the food is here! Started out with a complimentary tasting of carrot soup which is not my thing but was tasty and rich. Girls night out so we all shared plates and tried a number dishes. Each was better than the next culminating with the salmon which was the best I've tasted anywhere, including specialty seafood restaurants. The wait staff was very attentive and helpful. The only down side for me was the level of noise, which was loud given that it is a small space with not very many tables. I would definitely go back."

"I have been wanting to to Libertad for the past several months!! I am so glad that my friend and I decided to just go and make reservations!! I would have never heard about this place, if one of my friends hadn't mention it. This restaurant is located in Skokie and would have been a miss unless you really look. Upon arriving we were greeted by the very nice staff!! The decor is modern with I feel an intimate setting. I love the food!! I also love how the food didn't come out all at once. If the food all came at once, I would have been overwhelmed. These small plates are actually quite generous in size. But then again we had a party of 2! Overall, I really enjoyed the place/atmosphere!! I would definitely go back :)"

"We have been to Libertad many times and plan to come many more times. The food is always excellent, I don't think I've ever ordered something I didn't like. If you are looking for a great place to go for brunch this is the spot. Although dinner is always exceptional brunch is even better! When the weather is warm they have great outdoor seating where you can see all the herbs that they grow in their own space."

"This is our favorite restaurant. That is saying a lot given that we have eaten and enjoyed meals at every top restaurant in the city. Open kitchen and small plates that aren't tiny but rather are substantial and delicious. Excellent drink menu and superb pairings for prix fixe menus. Prices are just right. Easy parking. Now, if only there were some night clubs near by! Luckily we are locals. Don't miss the brunch even if you just go for the coffee."

"I had heard such good things about this place and was SO dissapointed. The food was bland other than "heat". It was my birthday and we were the only people in the place at 5pm - that being said, you would think that our service would have been impeccable and the food just right. Not the case! We will never go back."
