"Yes, it's in a mall, but the modern elegant design and the creative presentation of the food makes this a special restaurant. The food was as pleasing to the palate as it was to the eye.I highly recommend Hammamori."

"We are regular fine diners -- 1-2 or even 3 times per week. We're extremely experienced in fine dining and really enjoy the experience. Hamamori not only didn't disappoint, but was seriously over the top -- especially for Japanese cuisine. We enjoyed several different courses and dishes, one better than the next. I have never thought or said this before, but the chef here is Iron Chef worthy -- no doubt about it. The food and service were 6 stars out of 5; extremely impressive --and that's coming from a couple of serious foodies. Kudos to the owner and chef! Would highly recommend to fellow foodies."

"The food here is interesting. Not just rolled up fish that you can get almost anywhere in the country. The restaurant is very pretty inside. Unfortunately, we were seated on the patio, out in the mall. Good, all the same."

"Delicious and fresh omakase, with a great fresh sushi selection. Hama-san is a knowledgeable and skilled chef that clearly loves his craft and isn't shy about sharing his love of fantastic food. Definitely worth stopping in and spending some time enjoying beautifully prepared sushi. Will definitely be back next time I'm in the area!"

"I guess I didn't realize that this sushi restaurant charges $4-5 for each single piece of sushi. I took my parents here for dinner and I started to feel really guilty about how much the sushi cost because the price isn't per roll but per piece of sushi. We gave up and left not feeling full at all but spent a lot more than I had anticipated. I also didn't think that the quality of the fish was any better than places that are more reasonably priced."

"Despite having a reservation, the restaurant was very slow to seat us (and they were 2/3 empty on a Saturday night). The food was not good at all. Don't mind the high prices but serving edible food - and providing a minimum level of service - would be nice."

"Special detail goes in to each and every plate. Everyone was friendly, the food - so fresh it crawled, and the hospitality shown by James and Yoshi could not have been replicated. Would highly recommend Hamamori to anyone. I hear the lunch specials are worth the visit."

"The Prefix menu for Valentine was over priced. For $100 per person you would think that you would be full at the end of the meal but we weren't. The portions were very small. For the high price I expected the food to be spectacular but it was only mediocre. At the end of our meal, my husband and I had to order more sushi just to ease our hunger. I don't know how their regular sushi is on other days, but I was greatly disappointed on their Valentine's dinner. Besides the food, the ambiance was romantic and the decor was chic and upscale."
