"We had a lovely Mothers' Day brunch there. This restaurant is a delightful asset to the revitalization efforts in downtown Patchogue! The indoor/outdoor feature of this place, with telescoping walls of framed glass, makes it unique; and underscores the dining experience. We were so impressed with the food that we ordered a"take-out" meal to bring home! Aside from the wonderful food, a tiny potted plant at each table was given as a gift to each Mom! Simply delightful! Our server was very attentive; and the hostess also made return visits to our table. We plan to give gift certificates to this wonderful venue as a means to encourage family and friends to try it! And, oh, the biggest surprise was the very reasonable bill!"

"The menu, hostess and waitress contributed to making this a wonderful dinner. We were not rushed, but felt very comfortable at the pace of the meal for a Saturday evening. Suggestions were made by the waitress and they were right on target. Will definitely be back for dinner again..."

"Waitress was very attentive. Martini size really generous! Food was very good. We had fried calamari on a bed of spicy tomato sauce, tuna tartar, and pulled pork nachos all of which were flavor-filled and satisfying. The short ribs were melt in your mouth tender with a tasty sauce over creamy mashed potatoes. The apple crisp with ice cream was a nice finish to the meal. However, no espresso or cappucchino!"

"Met at Public House 49 for lunch during the week with friends. Had a great time! We were not rushed, had as much time as we needed. Food choices were great, had wonderful salads. Ambience trendy and cute! Have outdoor din ing in summer on main street in Patchogue.
Enjoyed everthing about the restaurant, and will be back again!"

"My wife and I have been to Public House 49 on a few occasions now and what gets us coming back is the food. Although a somewhat limited menu, the offerings have always been delicious- kudos to the chef. However, what disturbs us is the service that is not on the same level. We had a reservation and although we were seated almost immediately, it seemed to be reluctantly by the hostess at the door rather than the waitress who had been asked to seat us. It went downhill from there. We waited for our drink order for far too long and after it was delivered we waited again for sweetener for my wifes' iced tea after asking twice for it. We noticed that each table around us received a basket of rolls with their dinners which we never did receive."

"We made a last minute reservation for 4 and were seated shortly. The food was great! It was a girls night and we enjoyed the atmosphere of seperate dining from the bar area. We went early around 7 on a friday night, the waiter was attentive and knowledgable. It was a great experience. Would have liked a little more of a selection on the menu, another fish dish or chicken dish....the menu was a bit small. However, We would dine here again."

"Gastropub style food. Mac and cheese and beet salad pace setters, Continental burger and steak sandwich good, squid and shrimp lettuce wraps were back of the pack. Shrimp just not special and squid under crispy. Rolls should be avoided. Service excellent both friendly and knowledgeable of menu. would return but probably after trying severl other local restaurants"
