Prime and Beyond, is a family owned steak house that has been serving exquisite USDA Prime Steaks in the Tri-State area since its establishment in 2003. After building a profound reputation in Fort Lee, NJ, Prime and Beyond has now extended its service to New York City’s East Village. "2013 Michelin Guide Recommended"
"Great quality at a slightly lower price than other steakhouses in NYC. Not as formal - good vibe for anything from nice night out to guys' night out."

"Consistently exceeding our expectations, Prime and Beyond have again provided us with a memorable meal. The service was superior and the wait staff always ready to pour water or get extras for diners. The steak and sides were delicious and even though we ordered a steak for two with a party of three, we were still able to take home meat for a repast the next day."

"The nicely aged hunk of red meat was perfectly seared for medium-rare, and was very flavorful--just the right amount of fat to enhance the flavor. It's a steak joint for sure, with touches of Korea! The kimchee was outstanding as was the scallion salad. But it's all about the beef, and while not cheap, it's priced better than other name places and the quality is as good. A nice selection of beers, and okay wine list. The place is LOUD! Quiet conversation is not likely to happen."

"Went for BD dinner with bf who is a big steak eater. Nice room, small band playing (maybe a bit too loud). BF ordered Tbone which thy show you before cooking. Also had bacon and duck appetizer. Nice bottle of Prosecco. BF liked steak, but thought it was a little tough but flavor good. Scallion salad to eat with steak great. I ordered grilled veggies, crab cakes (ok) scallop appetizer was nice with lemony sauce so non meat eaters will do ok!!! Celebrated with caramel cheesecake which was delicious!!!!!"

"Steak was made well. I'm one of the few who likes medium well to well, but I usually am forced to send back or eat a medium rare steak. This place made it the way I like it. My girlfriend's steak was a perfect medium to her liking. The bacon strips are amazing! My gf thoroughly enjoyed the kimchi. "Not too ripe" and just right. Will return for a steak dinner, or a quick bacon snack. Oh.. also a great sea salt tasting!"

"This was some of the best steak I have ever eaten! We also ordered a few apps: Prime and Beyond bacon and the scallops, which were both great. I recommend trying the salt tasting for the steaks for an additional $5 (it comes with enough for 2 people). Our waiter recommended a perfect bottle of wine for our taste, and the owner even brought us down to see the area where to meat is aged! We will be returning!"

"My girlfriend and I had the dry New York strip for two and it was great. The salad was great, the grilled asparagus was great, and so were the mixed fries (sweet potatoes and french fries). I would highly recommend this place for their steak. One of the best parts of the meal was the dessert!!! We shared the caramel cheesecake and it was better than the cheesecake we had the following night at a noteworthy italian restaurant. Our only complaint was that it took a while to receive the bill but the service was prompt with the food which is what really matters."

"Had the bacon and a dry-aged bone-in rib eye. They were both excellent - cooked to perfection. Our waiter was well-informed and showed us our steaks before cooking them. Both my friend and I remarked that there was nothing we could complain about. I will definitely return."

"These folks truly understand steak. Their Prime grade is actually prime and they hand cut the steak right after you order it. Preparation was flawless and the veggies and salad that came with were very nice as well. Be sure to check out the cooler downstairs where they age their own steaks."

"I was looking for a steak spot to take my cousins who were visiting from out of town. The combination of a steakhouse that was downtown was appealing and upon walking down the block I thought the place was closed. But once inside the place was vibrant, warm, and quite inviting. The food was great and the Korean twist put it over the top. Definitely check it out."

"The Asian inspiration was a nice change of pace from the usual steak house. The burger I got was cooked well and juicy. The two porterhouses on the table were nicely cooked. Being presented with the steaks before they were cooked by the chef was very personal. Grilled vegetables were well seasoned. The steak topping (shredded scallions, very acidic to cut the richness of the steak) was very unique and tasty. Friendly service and simple modern decor."

"Fantastic all around...found it on YELP and couldn't be more happy. The reservation as at 830 and we were sat immediately upon arrival. The appetizers were fantastic, try the bacon...seriously! The dry aged strip was out of this world and the service was attentive but not overly done. Absolutely will be back!"

"This is a different steak experience and one well worth trying. I have been to many a steak houses and this ranks up there with the best I have ever enjoyed. One note, this place is not the stogy, heavy wood molding, old school atmosphere. This is a modern and somewhat ecliptic restaurant. Highly recommend."

"As always Prime and their staff did not disappoint. Everything was perfect. Special thanks to Ax and Truk as they made my family feel like one of theirs. I made a reservation for my sons birthday as Prime has become our "special" place to celebrate our family events and holidays. The food and service is always top notch. The confirmation phone call was very nice and upon arrival we were shown to our table, our dining experience was fantastic. Everything was cooked to perfection and the service was prompt without being intrusive. I don't think there is a steakhouse in the city that can touch them in terms of the quality of their fine selection of aged meat (dry or wet). Needless to say we will be back again and again. Thank you!"

"A relative newcomer to the New York steak scene, this restaurant has proven a match for much better known establishments. The service is sublime and the food is divine. Because a salad and sides come with most meat entrees, the price is reasonable. The wait staff is knowledgable about the meat selection and aging process and is always eager to provide diners with a narrated tour of the meat refrigerator ( through glass, of course). A memorable dining experience, this restaurant has become our "go to" place when planning special occasions or hosting guests from out of town. Be sure to order the salt tastings with your steak for a truly memorable experience."

"This is a great place to take meat lovers. The menu features classics (as you'd find in other steak places) but also Korean and other (e.g. Wagyu) dishes that serve meat. The food is beautifully prepared and very tender. The service is attentive but not intrusive. A nice find in the East Village."

"We are relatively new to New York, live on the UWS and exploring as many of the NYC neighborhoods as we can. We decided to try Prime after seeing a movie in the East Village. It was fantastic! Service was great, food was perfect (we had the duck appetizer, steaks, brussel sprouts and the mixed regular / sweet potatoe fries). This chef (Kevin) knows what he's doing and it shows. Even down to the complimentary salad that comes with dinner which is so fresh and with the best wasabi / ginger dressing. We even got a tour of their meat locker where they dry-age the beef. Incredible. The dining space is really well done too. It looks chic while being very comfortable. We will definitely return."

"Food was amazing. Ribeye was robustly flavorful. Bacon strips was seasoned perfectly and melt in your mouth. Service was prompt and courteous. Only negative is that if you're seated near the door, you will feel the cold draft when people come in. other than that, it was an amazing experience."

"We had decided to dine here based on excellent reviews on this and other websites. My husband and son shared a 2" thick dry aged porterhouse and I had the dry aged New York Strip. Both steaks were presented prior to cooking. Our steaks were cooked perfectly and we enjoyed the scallion salad which accompanied the steaks. We ordered the tasting trio of three salts and it was just enough to sprinkle on our steaks. We liked the bacon, sausage and salami appetizers, but the sausage tasted more like a hot dog. I asked our server to recommend a not-so-dry red wine since I normally drink white and he suggested a pinot noir. Perfect choice! We will definitely be back as the food and service were excellent."

"The porterhouse for two was as good as any steak I've experienced at any of NYC's marquee steak houses-but at a much more cost-effective price point. This is an unpretentious establishment, very low-key, with a very subtle Korean twist to their beef specialties. A real sleeper but I strongly suggest you give it a try."
