"We went to the restaurant to celebrate Father's Day as a family of 4.
It was very busy and our order took a little longer than usual, but we were taken care of extremely well by our server, Geoff.

"I took my Father to the Boathouse in Horseshoe Bay for Father's Day and had a wonderful time. The place was very busy as expected so we opted to sit on the outside deck that was uncovered. The weather was nice so it was warm for us. I ordered the Steak and Alaskan King Crab legs and my Father had the Prime Rib. My steak was unfortunately overcooked but the staff quickly replaced it with a properly cooked steak. my Father's Prime Rib was done to perfection and he commented that it was one of the best ones he has had in a long time. As we left we noticed just how loud it was inside the restaurant, so if you do go there during a nice warm day I would suggest taking advantage of the patio area."

"Serviers needs to be more knowledgeable, attentive. We had to seek out our server every time we needed to order, get our food, have the plates collected, needed the bill etc... The food quality is mediocre. The "fish and Chips shoudl be an easy signature dish but the batter was this, bready and looked very unhealthy...and an unappetizing."

"I definitely enjoyed the relaxed &casual feel when I was out on the patio. Considering the caliber of the restaurant, I did expect the patio to be better furnished: they were still using plastic chairs & tables. Disappointing. I found that the dining room, while bright, seemed rather old. The entrance to the restaurant was dark and not super inviting despite the location. Service was good from the beginning, with an early drink at the very limited bar that was situated right outside the kitchen pass. It wasn't anything special, but it was some place to be while waiting for the entire party to arrive. The food tasted good; but, food service was slower than I had expected. I would return but only with family only & not with friends."

"We had a terrific experience the staff were very helpful. We were meeting family there and our ferry was late but the staff were very accommodating to our situation. Food was well presented and everyone enjoyed their meals. Thank you for making our family dinner wonderful we will be back."

"Went for a graduation event with family. Unfortunately the meal I ordered was bland and I did not like it at all but the server was very pleasant and attentive and did not charge me for my meal. My other guests were amazed with their meals and the flavors they experienced. They brought my son (the graduate) a complimentary dessert with a sparkler in it which was a very nice touch. The appetizer's before the meal were superb and full of flavor! The wine menu was delightful and the view from our table at Horseshoe Bay's Boathouse was spectacular. I would highly recommend it for outdoor summer appies or a special occasion for all."

"When my parents arrive from Vancouver Island, our first stop is always the Boathouse and it never fails to impress. The food and service is always top notch. We typically dine early so the restaurant is always quiet but the open atmosphere can increase the noise level as it fills up."

"We had a really nice girls' night out at the Boathouse. Food was great, not the best seafood ever, but really good. Pricey. I don't understand the point of Open Table though, as I have booked places for years and not a single one has ever qualified for 'points'. I don't see why I should go through you guys instead of phoning the restaurant myself and talking to a human. Frankly that's whatr I prefer to do. Anyone else fed up with this system?"

"so my experience generally at The Boathouse is food that doesn't offend, but doesn't go, "wow" either. But that's what we come for isn't it? The surety of the "okay" is what you get for the great view. Steaks and fish tends to be overcooked. Vegetables cooked just right. The bread is always a big hit. And the desserts - cranberry apple crumble, really poor. Cinnamon overkill and too much topping. Staff friendly but tend to disappear for extended periods of time when they get busy."

"We booked brunch on Mother's Day, but we received a phone call saying they only offer buffet in lunch time a few days ahead. We have no choice but accepted. Surprisingly the food was so good, with lots of fresh seafood. Refill was fast, and service was excellent. Highly recommended."

"Every time I go to the Boathouse (Kits, English Bay, Port Moody) I have such a great time with top notch food and excellent service, except when I go for Mother's Day brunch. For $105 (includes 15% tip) you get brunch for 2 people and 2 coffees (which were too strong, and cold, and the waitress never came back to remedy.) The food was mediocre. I had an eggs Benedict that was flavorless, lukewarm, and tough. I also had some salad and fruit which were average. The breakfast sausages were greasy with a strange consistency. My Mom's plate was similar.
The only reason we went here was because she was coming over from the island and it was convenient. Next time I will go to Trolls for a quarter of the price and food that is enjoyable to eat."

"For most occasions it is a nice venue to grab a decent bite and enjoy the beautiful nature as the building is nearly floating on water. You can see the mountains touch the water as ferries pass by. Beautiful location on any given day, both rain and shine."

"2x the server left while trying to place our order, taking 30 minutes to place the order, just disappeared. By the time we ordered I was in a bad mood. Some food was excellent, other dishes were tasteless and disappointing. Apparently the chef wasn't there on a Saturday night (restaurant was full). Didn't have several menu items we wanted to order- burned one of the desserts so none were available and the other dessert could only be made by the absent chef. You cannot beat the location, although parking spots are non-existant. This has been our go-to spot for special occasions but after this time, and the previous (ingredients from the main course were missing, overcharged for the wine even after pointing it out) we are looking for another."

"Everything was almost perfect. I had mentioned to our waitress it was my husbands birthday so she surprised him with a mocha ice cream cake with sparklers and singing happy birthday. What I found odd was the ice cream cake was on the bill! I can see if he had chosen it, but he did not."

"Our server was the star of the experience. It was my family's first time visiting your location and I really wanted them to enjoy it the way my husband and I always have. He was sweet and very accommodating. He graciously took our special / customized requests and even brought me a new drink when I accidentally spilled and broke my glass of champagne. He was kind and made our visit very special. Everyone in our party remarked on how great a server he was. Please thank him for us. The food was awesome. Great Eggs Benny!!!"

"We always have a good time at this place, but on this occasion I found several hairs in my entree and it soured my meal, I was compensated in the bill, but still think it is worth looking at by the management.

"We felt rushed by our server Lyndsay the whole dinner and we wanted a relaxing, slow evening. Our appetizers were delivered too our table before our bread and water's had arrived. Then our main's came cold as if they had been sitting for a long while.
The restaurant was not that busy and I think they had not back-log in the kitchen, so they made your meals and then just held them until you were finished your appy.
I would not recommend this restaurant for a relaxing evening. For a quick expensive rushed meal, sure fine go there."

"The Boathouse is becoming our favourite place for a special night out with our teens, close to home. The setting is spectacular, but it's also very casual so you feel comfortable bringing kids. Friendly staff, excellent service, and the food is delicious. We just had steak, burgers, salmon, salads, and the desserts are big enough to be shared around the table. Will be back in the summer to enjoy the patio!"

"Server was excellent brought out a sample of beer to make sure my boyfriend was making the right choice and sent us home with a loaf of bread because we didn't know you had to ask for it at the begining of your meal.....which shouldn't be the case but it was remedied :) Nice spot and great view. Fireplace was a nice touch."

"Took our parents to dinner for their 60th anniversary. Noted this on the reservation through Open Table and also called. Was assured it would be a very special evening. It was mediocre. Meals were steak with stuffed crab, baseball sirloin, mixed lobster grill and lobster ravioli (special with appetizer and dessert). There was no mention at all of the 60th anniversary. No congrats from the server or manager. We poured our own wine most of the time, the waitress smelled of cigarette smoke when she came to the table after dinner and she completely forgot about the mud pie that came with my dinner (although I reminded her twice). With the tip (which I always feel obligated to give 15%), the bill came to $260.00. Definitely not worth it"

"I met with four of my nursing classmates and we hadn't seen each other in a while. We were given lots of time to talk and visit before ordering and after lunch as well. We never felt rushed.
The food was exceptional and reasonable.
It was pouring rain outside but no one noticed as we were having such a good time inside.
I found that in some Boathouse Restaurants, and I have been in most of them in the Lower Mainland, can be noisy. Not so today but then it wasn't super full."

"I chose The Boathouse Restaurant in West Vancouver for a belated Valentine's Day dinner. My boyfriend (visiting from Calgary) loved it! I have taken several out-of-town guests there, and have always enjoyed the food and ambiance."
