"We went for Father's Day Brunch. There were only four tables filled when we arrived and we waited 45 minutes for our food to come. Lots of excuses why it was slow but we thought it was too long to wait for eggs. The food was good, but it was not worth that kind of wait."

"This restaurant offers an amazing view of the beach and ocean. We love coming here just for that and the good food. The only drawback is when they have large parties or special occasion parties- it can get very loud. So the relaxing view and atmosphere of the well-decorated restaurant is blown to bits by the noise and not so pleasant."

"Have never dined upstairs before and was unexpectedly pleased with ambiance and level of service at 50 Ocean. I had a blackened grouper sandwich which was delicious (and I have eaten a lot of fish sandwiches through the years). My fellow diners enjoyed their lobster bisque and lunch items as well. Food was fresh and tasty. My only complaint is that the restaurant was cold even though they happily adjusted the thermostat at our request. I will definitely return with friends or for a romantic dinner with my husband."

"I've been meaning to check out 50 Ocean for awhile now and finally made it in this past weekend. We went in for brunch & they had a small but varied menu. At 11. you can also order off the lunch menu. The view -- overlooking the ocean -- is amazing & a great selling point and food was solid. Valet parking is available in the back, a nice addition."

"I was completely disappointed with the way I was treated when I first walked in. I had chosen this place due to the scenic view for a nice Mother's Day brunch looking at the ocean. When we arrived, I was told we would be placed far from the view. When I asked for the water view and explained that was the whole reason we had come, I was rudely told by the hostess and her associates that I wasn't getting another table. Not accomodating whatsoever and there were plenty of other tables we could have been sat at! The menu was awful. They don't give many options for people to choose from. Mostly there was fish and pork. Overall, we were extremely disappointed and even more so considering the cost. I will not be going back there."

"We really enjoyed our recent lunch at 50 Ocean at Boston's. The Lobster Roll and Turkey Club were very tasty. The service could improve, however. After being seated it took a good 5-10 minutes before anyone came to our table. All the servers had a pleasent manner but they never did anything more than they had to. We had to ask for everything even when they brought coffee they didn't bring sugar, just cream. We had to ask for dessert menu it was never offered. We had to ask to have water refilled, were never asked how the meal was, though it was very good.
We would recommend the food, but would probably not go back because of the service."

"I made a reservation here for Mother's Day Brunch. I requested seating by the window and was told that they would do everything possible to accommodate my request. When we arrived we were immediately seated in the back of the restaurant. When I asked the hostess (Jennifer) why they weren't seating us at one of the available tables by the window I was told that those tables had been reserved since February. Well, during our 1 hour stay at the restaurant there was NEVER any less than at least one vacant window table. When I mentioned this as we were departing, there was no concern, apology or regret offered.
Also, if you liked the Bloody Mary bar they had at this restaurant, be aware, they have now removed it."

"Enjoyed this restaurant immensely. Great view of the Atlantic Ocean, right off Atlantic Ave in Delray. Drinks were terrific, appetizers were fabulous, especially the Short Rib sliders. Our seafooid dinners were perfectly cooked and seasoned. Decor was very Key West, beautifully decorated."

Very friendly, professional staff - no 'server attitudes.' Inside or outside dining available. Casual dining, yet with a menu that offers something for everyone (& becomes slightly less casual in the evenings). Good, local bar crowd (nice bar) & for locals they have recently launched a "frequent flier" program.
Great spot for business lunches & they have a room for private parties.

"I normally refrain from responding to surveys however, this is one of my favorite restaurants. The location is good, the view is spectuacular, the decor outstanding. I usually bring my out of town guests to 50 Ocean. Its sophisticated but not too over the top. The menu and wine list are excellent, while offering a good variety. And the price range isn't too high and it isn't too low. Again a good offering. When there is a cutback on the quality of the food or wine the restaurant looses it ambiance and I avoid it. There were only a couple of things that bothered me. It was a bit noisy and our waiter was trying "TOO HARD" to attend to us... to me that demonstrates a lack of professionalism, at least for me."

"We celebrated a Birthday there. Food was good, but not outstanding. We had a server that was not available all the time. We all felt he was slow to come to the table and take our order. We had been sitting for a long time before he came to take out order and that pretty much set the scene for the whole evening. I might go back, but not too soon. There are other very hip restaurants that I would go back to first."

"Three out of four ordered the Lobster roll which was well worth the price. No shredded lobster but huge chunks and mire then enough so that if you didn't eat the roll you were plenty full. Best lobster roll we have ever had and we are from New England so we know lobster rolls. One had the Ahi tuna salad which was excellent.
Sat on the open patio on a perfect day and had the perfect view. This is our favorite place when we are in this area. Never here during the evening hours but the bar area looks romantic and trendy."

"Really nice looking restaurant/fabulous bar and lounge area. Good, attentive, friendly service. My duck dumpling appetizer was outstanding but my potato crusted grouper was just okay. My companions enjoyed their food. Outside dining was lovely looking out over the ocean. One of the few places you can see the ocean when dining because it's on the second floor. I believe it has a good wine list. I would go again definitely but not order that entree."

"Went for a birthday dinner while on vacation. Staff was attentive,food was great.Skirt steak was fabulous as were our companions entrees.
Perfect spot to dine outside( or in)overlooking Atlantic Ocean. Overlooks the energetic Sand Bar below which is fun for people watching.

"I love this spot. Ask for a table next to the window to have a view of the ocean. The food is good but be prepared to wait a while. It usually takes a long time. Started with steak tartar which was nice, even better on their delicious bread. My short ribs were spot on and the delicious beignets were a must have every time we come!"

"My wife and I live in Palm Beach but I never turn down the opportunity to drive to Delray to eat at 50 Ocean. My last meal was a quick lunch with client, but it was the best grouper sandwich I have had all winter. Blackened with carmelized onions, yellow tomatoes on that very nice and light hawaiian bread, it was delicious.
This is the kind of place that you go to without ever worrying about the food. Good service, great view, good food. I think it is a real winner."

"My favorite aspect of 50 Ocean is the decor and the view. The floor to ceiling windows allow clear views of the Atlantic Ocean. The decor is very well done. kind of "zen" like, very soothing. The food presentation is A+. I enjoyed a salad that was served as a cylinder wrapped in thinnly sliced cucumber (similar to a gift). Awesome presentation; i chose the chicken topper (i was surprised that it was the same price at fish; and it was served with the skin on; and with a bone). I'm so used to boneless skinless chicken that it was a surprise, but very tasty. The shrimp appetizer & fresh baked breads were great also. Our server was very pleasant and efficient. 50 Ocean is a great special occasion restaurant."

"This review is for Boston's, downstairs from 50 Ocean. There are two restaurants evidently with the same ownership and I checked in with the hostess downstairs. She couldn't find my reservation but instead of mentioning that I should maybe go upstairs (duh) she seated me. So I didn't find out about the difference until I quizzed my server. I didnt get to experience 50 Ocean. Hopefully there is a notable difference in the food.
Boston's is pretty typical beach side fried fare and some pretty good salads. I had the crabcakes and the fish tacos. Can't recommend either."
