"The service, decor, and food were unbelievable. When I asked the lady who greeted us when we arrived at the restaurant, where the bathroom was, she address me by last name, which she had remembered from around an hour prior to that. It made me feel very special that she took the time to memorize my name. The service at the table was equally attentive. The food was on a level that I have never experienced before. And the price for the 3-course pri-fixe, without any additions, was $50 a person with tax and 20% tip. We were too full by the end!"

"One of the most complete resturants I have ever been too in Manhattan. From the outstanding food all the way down to the impeccable service everything was 5 star (I mean they even brought little stools to keep the womens bags off the floor). It isn't cheap which is why I would recommend it for a special occasion."

"Del Posto is just a phenomenal dining experience from start to finish. We actually brought our (2) daughters (10) & (8) to an early dinner with us and at first I thought might be a bad judgement call but on the contrary the staff was absolutely accommodating. I would recommend anything because the prepartion and finese put into the dishes is beyond explanation. Just go with what you are in the mood for and buckle up your taste buds for a wild ride. I can't wait to enjoy another experience at Del Posto. Great job."

"Del Posto was highly recommended by several friends who dined there when visiting NYC. My husband & I were blown away! This restaurant was the perfect place to celebrate our anniversary with it's elegant & romantic setting. The service was impeccable from start to finish. We were impressed with the captains of our table with their food descriptions and recommendations and master sommelier with the wine selection. We ordered the 5 tasting meal and enjoyed every single bite. If you want a high end dining experience that will satisfy your taste palate, this is the place! We look forward to our next visit!"

"Highly overpriced, especially the wines, and mediocre food at best is what we found Del Posto to be on our first visit back in some years. Only the service was impeccable, and I guess that is what we are paying for now. One of the pasta dishes, the spaghetti with the crab, was so bad that we had to send it back; tasted like someone had dumped a little dishwater in it. The lasagna replacement arrived in 3 minutes - makes you wonder about food "cooked to order." We have spent a lot of time in Tuscany; this is about as far away from it in food quality as it is in mileage. Save your money."

Emeril Lagasse made an appreance and a private party broke out to celebrate. The service was immpeccable, the food was to die for, and the ambience was alive with energy. "My wife's been wanting to go to Del Posto for quite sometime now and we finally surpised her for her 30th Birthday and it did not disappoint. The food, service and atmosphere were all perfect and we felt pampered all night long too. It's definitely pricey though, we spent around $1200 for a party of 6, but easily could have been more if we had purchased a more expensive bottle of wine. I would recommend Del Posto to anyone looking to celebrate a very special occasion."

"You're paying for remarkable service. No doubt the food is delicious, but the price tag is very high and I've been to slightly less very-expensive meals that knocked my socks off more. The service is sensational, but that isn't as important at this price. Nonetheless, do show up hungry. They will feed you silly."

"Excellent dinner. Staff were knowledgeable (I ordered two obscure champagnes, with advice). Staff were also helpful - none of the items on the list of main courses appealed to my wife, so they offered a fish dish that was not on the menu, and delicious. The porcini "cappuccino" was a wonderful first course - rich mushroom broth topped with a great mushroom foam. I had a perfectly prepared veal chop. Preparation and presentation of all courses was impeccable.

"Del Posto is very possibly the best restaurant I have ever been to. My partner and I wanted a special dinner in the city and we certainly got it. It was a memorable, perfect evening. The service is second to none and the food superb. It's not cheap but worth every penny for that special night out."

"At first impression, the restaurant felt stilted and overly formal to out of town visitors, but the staff warmed as the evening progressed and we ended up having a lovely dinner with wine pairings that were exquisite. "This was for lunch. We had lobster salad app, then all pastas--lobster ravioli. pumpkin agnolotti, mushroom ravioli, garganelli, orecchietti. Lobster app was excellent, all pastas were very good, but we were not blown away. Orecchietti were too sweet for our taste. Bastianich Vespa wine was outstanding--we'd had it there before but they were out of it the last time we were there, so we were pleased they had it back. Meal was very slowly paced because they give you so much food. We wish they would go back to a la carte rather than the required tasting menu. The cannoli dessert was not a cannolo, it was pieces of the shell with a smear of the filling."

"Del Posto sets out to be a dining experience and it is. The food is beautifully prepared and delicicous. I had a salad that was almost too pretty to eat. The amuse bouche and the chocolates to finish are lovely touches. The wild (and we must emphasize that) striped bass was smooth, velvety and delicious. My issue is that it is over the top. The service can feel overwrought. I do not need a description of everything that is on my plate when it is served. I ordered it because it is what I want to eat and you already told me what would be on the plate. The reverence paid to each course and the earnestness with which food discussed and presented leaves little room for joy and fun in having so much good food in such a handsome setting."

"This went horribly wrong. We're foodies, we totally love with what NY has to offer. We also loved the great service and the venue of Del Posto. The food itself was a nightmare though - oversalted steak, fat lamb, super spicy pasta and uninspired dessert. The (really nice) guy in charge for the service at our table wasn't really allowed to tell us what exactly happened but it seems like some of their staff left / was new / had no idea what they were doing. Out of all the places we've been to this has been the biggest letdown ever. They might be famous for their wine selection (we have not tried it so I can't tell you how good it is) but they're surely not famous for their food. Disappointing, expensive, there's so much better stuff in NY."

"Yes, I said Del Posto is kid-friendly. With two kids, ages six and seven, we rarely get out for a really nice meal. We took a chance on Del Posto, while I was in town for work, and it was a huge success. Thanks to a wonderful patient staff, we made it through a four hour dinner pretty gracefully (& gratefully). The kids delighted in being treated like real people, from having their own menus, to having a selection of drinks to choose from, to getting plates that looked like their parents'. Agnolotti, salad with truffled dressing, and the pork trio were all amazing, as was everything I poached from other plates. We will be back, perhaps without the kids for a more romantic evening."

"We had the Prixe Fixe lunch at Del Posto.
I will skip over the A+ parts: food, and ambiance. Service was an A+ as well until we mentioned a Google Offer. Then it was a C+.
We asked our waiter about the google offer (free pasta sample) and they brought the manager over. He snootily agreed that we could use the deal, but was clearly turned off. After that, our food was brought out by busboys & the "proper waiters" never came over again, even though we saw them elaborately explaining the dishes they served other patrons, constantly checking on them & refreshing their napkins with each meal, removing crumbs from the table, etc.
Del Posto, if your 4 star fine dine establishment has a google offer, dont be offended when ppl use it!"

"It lives up to its reputation. The dining room is magnificent, and was thoroughly enjoyed as they are fewer and harder to come by nowadays.
