"We made a reservation for Mother's Day. The ambiance was warm and rich, with a very attractive old-world tavern decor. Service was friendly and attentive but not obtrusive. Mother raved about her smoked salmon; husband said his marinated steak was one of the best he'd had in a very long time; my chicken salad was divine. The accompanying salads were plentiful and the croissants melted in our mouths. We couldn't have had a better meal!"

"Severed roll laying on the side of the salad plate getting salad dressing on the roll. Never brought a butter knife or butter for the roll. Never ask if we needed more bread"

"Our food was never delivered, however we have been to this restaurant countless times and the food was always outstanding and I have no doubt it would have been so this visit also. The service was an extreme problem which my wife and I never expected, since service has always been wonderful. We were forced to leave after 35 to 40 minutes because of the lack of any attention (to say the lest)."

"Waiter was in bad mood. Everything was cool not hot from kitchen. Appetizer was tops (shrimp escargot) was the best item of whole meal. You get one piece of bread with it broke in half. Each half piece after that was an extra dollar. Ordered two entrees one chicken and ribs with baked beans and garlic mashed taters. To get other sides were three bucks each. No substitutes allowed. There were three forkfuls of ribs period on the ribs rest was bones. Sad dinner for a hungry man. Also chicken fried steak with mashed taters came out with about two cups of cold half cooked gravy ALL OVER PLATE. Nasty. Asked for rolls they don't serve them. So our Easter celebration brunch was a bad and sad experience for us. Mngr. not available paid n left."

"Our dinner for 6 was very good. One problem for groups of 4 or more is limited tables for larger groups. Six adults in booth space is pretty cramped. The food and service were both very good. Everyone enjoyed their meals."

"Best ribs in town! A restaurant that is both kid-friendly and romantic. Just ask for a BOOTH if you want a more romantic setting. The veggie sides are steamed fresh and delicious, not soaked in butter like some local restaurants."

"Had an excellent Valentines day dinner with my wife. The drinks, meals and desserts were prepared well and served in a timely manner. We will visit again soon, maybe next time for lunch."

"We chose Charleston's for Valentine's Day simply because we like the food. The food and service are always somewhere between good and excellent. The "ambiance" is typically very good, with one exception. Normally, we sit in the bar. On Valentine's Day, we expected to sit in the dining room for a change but we were taken to the bar. Oh well... we like it there: right? The noise level was like being in a sailors bar on a busy dock somewhere. Maybe this night was an exception. I consider Charlestons to have style and class and did not expect to have dinner in this environment. We could not hear each other speak. Loud patrons are one thing, but the bartender should have known better and not participated."

"I can't believe this was my first here! Everything about this place is excellent. I went with a group of 4 and I tasted something from everyone's plate and everything was delicious! I had the oven roasted chicken dinner with their famous carrots and mashed potatoes. Superb! The others had the catfish dinner and chicken tenders and everything was awesome. Our waitress was very patient and knowledge about the menu which put the icing on the cake. She was also very pleasant. This restaurant is very dark/dim but I like it that way. I also would not recommend brings your kids. Which is also the way I like. LOL"
