Social dining - spending time with friends and family - is what Gyu-Kaku (GEW-KAH-KOO) is all about. Gyu-Kaku offers the fun of ‘shared plates,' inspiring laughter, conversation, and good times. You can't help it – with a personal grill installed at every table, everyone instantly becomes an expert cook. The staff at Gyu-Kaku are friendly, leading you through the night with helpful suggestions. The sounds around you are of parties and laughter - the perfect choice for first dates, families, and catching up with friends. Gyu-Kaku, meaning "Horn of the Bull" in Japanese provides the authentic Japanese Yakiniku (barbeque) dining experience where our customers share premium cooked meats over a flaming charcoal grill while sipping on Japanese Sake, Shochu and frosty cold beers.
"On a scale 1-10 waiting time (with reservation made in advance) 1 table -1 service -1 waiting time (food and drinks) - 1 food quality -1 (taste less and poor cut of meat, little marinated ingredients)
Will not go back. We arrived at 9:45 for a 10:15 resveration. Did not sit down until I asked @ 10:20. Did not finish my dinner (one run of food order) until midnight."

"This place rocks! I loved the marinades that they use for their meats. Better than a Koren BBQ place by far. My favorites are the garlic noodles, rib eye and short rib with miso and garlic marinades, respectively. Our waitress was super friendly and she wasn't the only one making sure we were doing fine, the manager also came by to ask how everything was. Reservations are highly recommended and the price wasn't too bad. I would prefer to sit outside since the place can get stuffy due to all the grills going but other than that, the experience was fantastic."

"We visited Gyu-Kaku for my friend’s birthday. I would recommend happy hour - great prices an fun drinks. We rolled in at 6:00 - we did notice that service started slipping the busier it got (restaurant should have had more staff start their shifts at 6:30 – 7:00. Overall a great experience."

"The food is decent and worthwhile when you go during Happy Hour when there are discounts. Although the servers tend to be very friendly, the service is hit or miss since they get quite busy. The food sometimes comes out really slow. Overall a fun place to eat dinner.
The harami miso steak is a hit with our family since the beef always seems to be well marinated. I like the tare sweet soy but the meat doesn't seem to take on the flavor as well. Both the spicy tuna and shrimp volcano dishes are good appetizers. The tuna/shrimp is served over rice that has been grilled or fried so that the rice is crunchy on the outside. We always end the meal with S'mores and Belgium waffles."

"This place is perfect for friends gathering. Since you grill the food yourself, you can have a lot of fun with your friends. The dishes are delicious and there are a lot of varieties to choose from. It's a bit loud for a romantic night in my opinion, but the noise level is okay and the atmosphere is relaxing for a group of friends."

"This was our fourth visit to gyu kaku, and we'll probably give it another chance, as the first three were all very good. this was just such a disappointment though. the service was terrible, slow, unhelpful, didn't explain how the grill worked or anything. drinks came, they were lukewarm with a couple of tiny ice chips floating in them. the food itself was fine, meats were fresh, but we burned one of them due to having not been given cooking instructions, and no one ever came to see how things were! we waited forever for the check, and I was going to complain on the way out but the desk was un-manned and I couldn't see anyone up front at all. not a good experience. the friend we took couldn't figure out why we wanted to go there at all."

"I have been to Gyu-Kaku many times for dinner and happy hour and I would say that I would only come for their happy hour because it tends to get pricey for their dinner despite the same amount of food that you would get during happy hour. Their marinated meat is a bit on the salty side so I highly recommend that you balance it out with a rice dish. Maybe that's their plan all along to get us to order more food!!"

"Good food. A pretty good selection of meats and seafood. Very unique way of presenting food. You do the cooking to your likes. You have little to no control of the heat levels of the grill. Kind of like BBQ'ing in your back yard. Very trendy, attrachs a younger crowd."

"I have been dining here since the restaurant opened and noticed the service has gone downhill. My last visit was bad, but because the food is good, I thought I would give it another try on a different day, but alas, it was even worse. If you're lucky, you'll be given a table where the waiter (some tables even have 2 waiters!)will come right away and take your order. We weren't lucky. After waiting 20 minutes and seeing people who were seated way after us being serviced so quickly, I finally had to flag someone down just to order something to drink. Weak management staff. Instead of checking on customers only towards the end of the meals, they really should be checking on customers to make sure they're all being serviced."

"I went to Gyu-Kau for my girlfriend's birthday and I have to say it was quite a fun experience and the food was excellent. If you go I highly recommend ordering the Kobe beef and beef tongue as those were me and my gf's favorites. The only downside to a place like this is that it is very pricey and not for somebody on a budget. I recommend it for special occasions only unless you have a lot of money to throw around. At the end of the day though it's definitely worth a look especially if you enjoy Japanese food and have a taste for quality beef."

"Having lived in japan for a couple of years I was VERY happy to find this place was across the street from work. I jogged over there for lunch and was very happy with the whole experience. Everything was amazing."
