"I visited Bernardin's for the first time this weekend with another couple and we very much enjoyed our time there. The food was cook to perfection, the service was amazing and the atmosphere was nice. It was a bit tight in the main dining room but that is not necessarily a bad thing especially for a romantic outing. I was very impressed by the menu selection and the quality of the food. If I had to nitpick, I would say I was a little upset that the Bison was not available at the time of my visit, and that a manager or owner did not come around during the meal to see how everything is. That is not expected at a fine establishment but it is certainly appreciated and makes for a better experience. Overall though it was amazing!"

"We came back to Bernardin for dinner after a fantastic first time.
We got the goat cheese tart again for an app, we tried the heirloom salad and the butternut squash and truffle soup. Amaaaazing!!
For entrees we had the seared scallops with lobster rissotto and bison on pureed parsnip with creamed spinach. It was beautiful. Spot on flavors.
Lime cheesecake and chocolate torte for dessert and everything was perfect!!
Service was wonderful. Very attentive servers."

"We ate here for our anniversary.
There are lovely paintings to look at and the food is marvelous. We had the goat cheese tarts and the shrimp cocktail for apps and they were awesome. My favorite part of the meal.
My husband had Ahi Tuna with Soba noodles and he loved it. I had the venison. It was a little bland, but I did enjoy the ligonberry sauce. The sides were terrific. White and Sweet potatoes layered and mushrooms.
Dessert was yummy. We had the cheesecake. It was quiet and romantic. We plan to come again."

"I took my new manager to Bernadin's which was my first meeting with her. The salmon in particular is a favorite of many team members. As luck would have it, my new boss loves salmon. The food was excellent, and the service was very good. A great place for a great meal, and good converation!"

"We enjoyed our meals and the menu choices. We had oyster salad, brief stuffed chicken, and bison strip, also chocolate peanut butter cheesecake. All was very good. . There were many good wine choices, also a variety of martinis. If you mention that it's your anniversary, you get a choice of 1/4 Brut of champagne or one dessert on the house. We sat in the front window, which affords a street view so that you can watch everything going on. You sort of attract attention if you sit at the front table as you are visible to everyone passing by, so if you don't like to feel like a mannequin you might want to choose a table on the floor, any table is nice. Our waitress was wonderful.. very attentive and pleasant."

"I brought a new group of work friends with me. They had never been there. The food was great as usual and Megan was our waitress. She always does such a fantastic job - there when we need her and not there when we are discussing something. Several of us had the Cobb salad and a couple tried the soup special. Everyone enjoyed the meal!"

"I love this restaurant, one of the loveliest dining rooms anywhere and perhaps the most interesting fine-dining menu in town. I was crestfallen that they discontinued the sweetbread app, but there were many others to fall back on. The foie gras I had on a previous visit was one of the best preparations I've ever had. The escargots were ok but not my favorite. The duck was brilliant, with a breathtakingly sharp red cabbage. I loved the tandoori-spiced kangaroo, very tender, and wife's tuna was superb. On future visits we'll try more mundane offerings, like bison, venison, and then really standard but great0sounding fare like pepper shrimp, scallops over risotto, and many others. And ask for the front window booth if you want to be the star!"

"Bernardin's is a great spot for lunch or dinner. The chef and staff are very accommodating for special requests. The feel of the restaurant is very unique and located in The Green. There is a entree for everyone, including salads, seafood and great sides.
The food is very fresh and if not mistaken comes from local growers in the NC region which is nice for those of us that like fresh ingredients. I would recommend for any lunch meeting or special occassion."

"I haven't been to Bernardin's at dinner yet, but can't wait to go. Lunch is fantastic! Service is outstanding! The restaurant takes reservations at lunch so this works especially well for small groups to have a lunch fairly quickly. All of the wait staff is good, but one, I believe Meg or Megan is wonderful!"

"In celebration of our first wedding anniversary I was looking for a restaurant to really blow my wife away. I chose Bernardin's based on the overwhelmingly positive reviews on Open Table. As our dining experiences are often hit-or-miss, I was a bit nervous, but needlessly so. My wife (and I) were very pleased not only with the food, but also with the attentive, professional, but not intrusive service. Our dinner on Friday night kicked off a great weekend of celebration of our first anniversary! Definitely recommend."

"The food was notable, including venison, kangaroo and sturgeon. Items not seen very often in Charlotte. The service was also very good. But for all that my wife was struck by the lack of attention to little things like the fixtures and waste basket in the washroom - cheap, cracked, etc. We don't go there for the washroom, but for a high end establishment, it would be nice to see them pay more attention to the entire package."

"Our first trip to Benardin's and it won't be the last. We were seated immediately upon arrival and our server was over quickly to take our water order (tap, spring, or Perrier). My wife ordered a salad with fried oysters and I had the caesar. Both were fresh and very enjoyable. For entrees my wife had the brie stuffed chicken and said it was delicious. I had the filet which was as good as I can recall having anywhere. For dessert we shared the chocolate torte served with whipped cream and a small scoop of ice cream. Excellent!!"

"We went to Bernardins to celebrate my husbands birthday. It was an excellent choice! The eclectic menu was perfect for my husband who jumps at the opportunity to try unique eats. He had the fois gras appetizer and kangaroo dinner. I had the goat cheese tart followed by the pepper crusted filet. Delicious and well worth the trip uptown."

"Consistently excellent food with consistently excellent service. Attentive without being too attentive. An unusually wide selection of dishes including ostrich, kangaroo, bison, salmon, lamb, beef - all served elegantly without being fancy. A wonderful place to eat right on "The Green" and the main street (Tryon) for a great after dinner walk past the night life. OUr favorite place to eat in town."

"The menu is wonderful at a surprisingly fair price, especially for Uptown Charlotte. I had the kangaroo loin (first time ever trying kangaroo!)and it was fantastic. It was prepared with Indian spices and had 2 very nice sides, a delicious potato and red lentil cake and a very tasty ratatouille. My guest had the diver scallops and raved about them as well. Our server was very nice and attentive and brought several small tasting samples of wine as we were ordering by the glass. This was my first time to this little gem and I'll definitely be back...to try the bison."

"Excellent food and service made our dinner a more than special occasion. The server was perfect offering great suggestions and telling us about the local offerings. My wife had the lobster ravioli which tasted excellent and I had a bone in ribeye which although a bit thinner than I'm used too for the money had great flavor and tenderness."

"This was my first time to Bernardin's and it was excellent. I went for lunch and the choices were great. Unique salad options and I tried the Thai steak salad which was excellent. I also had the special Talapia fish which was equally delicious. My guest had a steak wrap that looked fantastic and many of the other dishes I saw looked beautiful. This is a place that I will go back to."
