STK - NYC - Meatpacking
STK artfully blends two concepts into one—the modern steakhouse and a chic lounge. A large central lounge area is furnished with creamy leather banquettes and textured crocodile tiles, and is surrounded by an elevated dining room for more formal dining. Theatrical lights illuminate each table, while smoky mirrors allow patrons to catch a glimpse of the surroundings as a DJ creates an energetic vibe throughout the entire space. STK Meatpacking is located in the heart of NYC's Meatpacking District and is the brand’s flagship location. Executive Chef Humberto Leon mans the kitchen of the four floor venue. As anticipated, steak is the main attraction. With a female-friendly mindset, STK offers small, medium and large cuts of meat, as well as naturally raised options and market fresh fish entrees. Aside from steak, signature items include Parmesan Truffle Fries; Lil’ BRGs; Shrimp Rice Krispies; Sweet Corn Pudding; and Jump Lump Crab Salad.

"The only thing I can complaint was that, our reservation was at 10:30 pm already and we have waited extra 45 minutes to be sitted.

"We loved STK in London, Las Vegas, NYC Midtown. We were totally disappointed by our experience in the Meatpacking venue. 52 minutes before sitting at the table, then 37 minutes to get our first dish. Waiters don't have time or skills to make a decent interaction with customers."

"We had to wait 30 min after our reservation time. My boyfriend and I were furious because we had been told by 3 different people that it would be "just a moment". Later after we were seated a server told us the truth that the average wait time for someone with a reservation was 45 min!!! if it were not for this STK would have gotten 5 stars because the food was great and so was our server."

"The restaurant is very "energetic", which translates into "way too loud", especially if your table is at the front of the house. It is hard to enjoy the food when the table next to you is screaming at each other to be heard. The place is decorated beautifully. The food is good, nothing special, yet grossly over-priced. A 6 oz. filet for $36 served naked on a large plate...not even a twig of parsley. There are better steak places for the money.

"Was recommended by a friend who loves steak and thought we'd like it there. Yes it is a very nice restaurant and worth going to for the very tasty steaks. The service was very slow and I'd like to say the waiter was attentive but we had to ask for him to take our order and that was after an hour of waiting. He was polite and knew his stuff. The food arrived and one steak was clearly medium well done and should have been medium rare. This was corrected and a new one cooked. The drinks were ok but didn't taste much of alcohol (Nohitos and Margaritas). When mentioned, new drinks were provided. Overall the food was very good but for the price, I'd have expected it to be perfect. It wasn't unfortunately! Would go back but not any time soon."

"One of the best steaks I have had in a while. We are serious steak eaters and ordered two 34oz porterhouse and one cowboy, both cooked to perfection. The double cooked potatoes, creamed spinach, and tuna tar tar was absolutely delightful. All of that coupled with Michael Strahan behind us was the perfect evening. Can't wait to go back!"

"We went to STK on a Monday night. It wasnt quite as busy as the weekend croud but still full of energy. The food was amazing but VERY rich. Our waiter was very snobby and we caught him rolling his eyes any time someone in our group made a special request. Overall the experience was great and the food was very good."

"The ambiance is great. The sides are great. The portions are small. I love the experience but not necessarily the actual Steak. Kinda pricey too but ideal for the Meatpacking District."

"Very touristy.. Interesting crowd around midnight downstairs. The food wasn't bad, but there are much better places to order a steak. Expect to get seated well after your reservation. We were told to wait at the bar for over an hour. Our drinks and food to came out very slow. Our waitress was kind and did the best she could in the mad house, she advised us next time to come earlier than 11 to avoid the chaos. We wanted a fun environment for dinner, it just kind of failed. Overall experience just wasn't worth the price tag and the wait. Loved the STK in Miami, so I was a bit disappointed with our meat packing experience."

"Our reservation was for 10:30p and we weren't seated until almost midnight. The food was good but not great, I've been to much better steakhouses. You are paying for the music and atmosphere, which is great and super fun. I loved the cotton candy.....that was the best part for me along with the music!"

"Went here for my anniversary. The food was great and the staff was efficient. The decor was classy and masculine. I would recommend this restaurant for the food. There are also specials ready for order that are NOT on the menu - if that is what you are into. Wasn't a part of my meal, maybe more for the lonely business traveler."

"I had previously been to the STK in Las Vegas, where I had an amazing meal, so I had very high hopes for their flagship restaurant. The steak was cooked perfectly and was great. Other parts of my meal did not match up to the Las Vegas location. The Parmesan truffle fries were a bit greasy with a gritty texture and the Apple &Endive salad was too tart for my taste. However, that shouldn't dissuade you. I had a great meal at STK, even if it did not necessarily live up to my lofty expectations."

"The decor was cool, the food was nice, however the service was poor, the crowd noisy and brash and I wouldn't go back.
The service was poor: disinterested staff when we arrived, wrong cut of steak sent out, had to keep asking for water, and then the bill arrived half way through desert before we'd even had a chance to think about having a coffee or a digestif.
The place may well be suited to the overly loud types who were shouting across the table to each other and other tables next to us. But if you prefer to dine amongst a more refined clientale I would chose somewhere else."
