"We had the best service here - the host staff was incredibly nice and accommodating, didn't rush us to sit or make us wait for our entire party to sit. Wait staff and bar staff were very nice as well, and they have a great cocktail list. The only downside is that there's no food service in the patio area, which is so lovely that we would have liked to sit there for dinner, but overall a great experience at rustic kitchen."

"We were stuck in traffic and were 30 minutes late for our reservation before going to the threatre. It was a Thursday night and so it wasn't really busy yet, and we were seated right away. We ordered quickly and our entrees were rushed and brought out in 10 minutes flat. The bologna pasta was excellent, and my roasted pear salad with grilled chicken was just what I needed.
I would like to go back and have a more leisurely dinner, but we were grateful for the quick services."

"I reserved The Rustic Kitchen for a graduation/Mother's Day brunch. Graduation lasted an hour beyond my estimate and the restaurant was still able to accommodate. The food/drinks were fabulous as was the service. I would highly recommend for any occasion."

"Thye ambience of Rustic Kitchen is better than many of Boston's finest restaurants and my server was exceptional. We ordered mussels for a shared appetizer, and they were excellent but came drizzled with a generous helping of aioli, which my daughter doesn't like. I had the cod, which came on a bed of mussels and chowder that was exceptionally tasty. But the cod itself came encased in a thick, hard batter-crust that totally overpowered the codfish inside. Despite the outstanding service and ambience, I gave it three stars because the overall rating of a restaurant can't be better than the food."

"My first trip to Rustic Kitchen was in March for a conference.
I was extremely impressed by the attentive service and unique and delicious food.
I was so impressed that I booked an Open Table reservation for my husband's birthday this past Sunday.
Again the food and ambiance was amazing but I was very disapointed by our waiter Peter.
He just didn't seem to want to be there and he obviously didn't care.
It took him over 20 mins to take our food order and pretty much forgot about us until
I gave him a few looks. The icing on the cake was his forgeting my note to put a candle on my
husband's cake that I had noted on Open Table.
I got the manager's attention and told him this and they promptly took the cake off the bill."

"My wife and I dined here after a Blue man matinee so we hd the place to ourselves. Great ambiance as we sat in semicircular banquettes. we started with a fig, caramelized onion and arugula pizza that was spectacular. my wife had short ribs strganoff that was rich, creamy and tyhe ribs were tender and very tasy. i had a pasta bognese in a tomato cream sauce that was delicious. We were both too full for desert and took the rest of the stroganoff home and had it for lunch two days later, excellent !."

The restaurant was quiet-- I came in at 1:30. I overheard one table tell the waiter they had been in the night before and came back that day.
One slightly off-putting note: I ordered the Balvenie 21 ( fine single malt) for dessert, and the waiter asked if I wanted it on the rocks. Neat should be the default for top shelf"

"Ate here before a show at the Boston Opera House. The food and service were both very good. I had the stuffed chicken, beautiful presentation and tasted good too. Husband had the lamb special which was also delicious. Overall great experience and we'd return. We parked in the Stuart St garage adjacent to the restaurant and they validated our parking. So only $10 to park for dinner and the show for the whole evening."

I had the beef stroganoff which was wide noodles, mushroom, short-ribs and sauce...wonderful...a little filling so dont fill up on bread. "Very nice restaurant for a special occasion. the service from the moment we walked in was outstanding. My wife ordered the baked stuffed Haddock, I ordered Shrimp and Scallop Spagettini. Both dishes were excellent and the portions were very large. When the check arrived I was pleasantly surprised at the amount given the quality and attentive service.

"It's too bad the ambience was so bad, the food was actually pretty good. We ordered 2 tartar apps, that were good and huge. Salads were also large. Each if my party couldn't finish our meals. However it felt like we were in a Disney restaurant. It was so bright! There was every lift fixture one could buy at a lighting store.

From the moment we walked in the door, we were treated like royalty. The ambiance was great and the staff was amazing. Our waiter, Danny, was phenominal and took great care of us. My partner and I both ordered some wine and then we ecah ordered the Surf n Turf special - the food was mouth watering! It included two sides which made the entire meal seem humongous! The entire meal - (2) Surf n Turf specials and (2) glasses of wine each seemed a little bit pricey @$135.00, but the evening was a special ocassion. Great place - we will be back!"

"Nice selection with moderate price range - something for everyone on menu. Catered to kids and adults, and food was absolutely delicious. WE had pasta and fish and all was quite good. Portions were generous. Really nice location for theater event, and better than mega chain options. We particularly appreciate spending our money at a place that gives back to local community - would love to try the TV show!"

"The service at Rustic Kitchen is very good. From the hostess to the servers to the people who clear the tables, everyone has a ready smile and a kind word to offer. I tried the restaurant because I was a guest at the adjoining hotel and a colleague had recommended it. Since the item he mentioned was not available (pork chop) I went off-script, and didnt have a happy ending. I ordered the duck, and wasn't asked how I'd like it prepared. Normally I would get it medium rare. The duck was very overcooked, well done, though to their credit it wasn't dry. I ordered the creme brûlée for dessert and it was served at refrigerator temperature. Which tells me something. I won't be going back."

"Due to dietary and religious purposes, I don't consume meat. However, I do eat seafood. I ordered the panko crusted cod with Canadian mussels chowder. I had the waitress review the entree with me and how it is prepared and what is in it. She expressed that it is a seafood dish with a meatless chowder. The entree arrived and was bland and the cod could have used some spices. While eating I noticed that the chowder had something that appeared to be meat. I again asked her if she was sure there was no meat in it and she said yes. I called the next day and ask again as it puzzled me and a man said no. I emailed the co. and was told bacon is in the chowder. Diners be ware!"

"I was generally impressed with the ambiance of the restaurant - very modern, very intimate. I was unimpressed, however, with the selection and quality of both the dinner menu and wine list. While I was pleased with the intricacy of some dishes (particularly their salads), I found the entreés to be disappointing, price considered. The baked rigatoni specifically was simple and unassuming - a homestyle choice that I may have enjoyed, had it not been grossly overpriced at $20 for a serving to be consumed in one sitting. The grilled pear salad, however, was excellently prepared and presented well."
