Marker 32
Marker 32 has been one of North Florida's premier dining destinations for nearly twenty years. The Chef driven kitchen consistently produces outstanding contemporary American fare with a focus on fresh and local seafood along with steaks, chops and thoughtfully prepared side dishes. House made artisan breads and luscious pastries are made daily in the award winning, on premise bake shop. Unfortunately we were seated next to a couple with a baby who was fussy during dinner , not exactly the setting we were looking for to celebrate our 24th wedding anniversary . "This was, by far, one of the best dining experiences I've had in some time. From the appetizer, to the salad, to dinner and dessert, each course was well prepared, pleasantly presented, and exquisite in taste. Service was spectacular, and the view was wonderful even though our table was somewhat in the middle of the restaurant. Be prepared to spend a little extra, but it was well worth it."

"Both times I have been we had no view of the water, put in a back crowded booth. Ordered 2 appetizers one of fried green tomatoes and one of oysters. Oysters were good tomatoes were good but you only got 2 slices. You would have thought the waiter would have told you how many slices it was since we were a party of 5. Really, $8.00 for 2 slices of tomato. Ordered salad, it could fit in the palm of my hand (not including any fingers). Ordered filet, taste was very good but size was small and the side of vegatable was about a tablespoon of vegtables. I left hungry. I am not a big person, female and 125 lbs. Although the taste of the food was good, the cost is very overpriced. Put on our list of restaurants marked "Do not Return"."

"Marker 32 is one of our favorite restaurants. We have eaten there many times and other than one not so good experience we have had wonderful meals. It is a little pricier than other restaurants we visit so it's usually a special evening out when we reserve a table. Nice atmospher but can get noisy when very crowded. We enjoy going alone, with friends, and love to take a special aunt there!"

"Through the years we have found Marker 32 uneven. Some very fine dinners; some very noisy and slow service dinners. Server Brenda can always be counted on for fine service. But now that everyone else asks for her, she can be spread too thin. This last dinner we were served by Lisa who was wonderful. Great style; great service. The restaurant is always NOISY...and the Mgmt always bunches people together. Very tight seating. This last dinner the food was superb. So congrats to the chef. My Veal chop was awesome!"

"This was my first visit to Marker 32, and won't be my last! The service was everything you would expect great service to be, friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. The food was fantastic, I had the seared scallops and they were cooked to perfection. We also tried the appetizer specials, pork belly and fried conch, and they were delicious as well. Cannot wait to go back!"

"Marker 32 is one of Jacksonville's best dining options. Not in a area with a lot of walking traffic, Marker 32 seems to a hidden gem. On the Itracostal waterway, the views are unique to Jax. The food and service is always consistent. Try their broiled oysters for an appitezer, scallops for dinner and bread pudding for dessert!! Ask Summer behind the bar to pour you a glass of her favorite Red!!! Love Marker 32 for all occasions and to bring the baby along."

"We have always had a good meal at Marker 32 but not this night.Crab cakes had pieces of shell. Shrimp dinner was cold when brought to the table.Grits were like leftovers not creamy or moist. The waitress brought out fresh grits and greens and they weren't much warmer the second time around. It was a special birthday sowe were quite disappointed. Wait service is always great."

"We have been to Marker 32 restaurant many times. On this night, we had reservations and were seated within 5 minutes of arrival. Our first bottle of wine wasn't quite right so they gladly exchanged it for a different bottle. The baked oysters were awesome, and my husband had the tuna tartare, which he really liked. We both had the mutton snapper special, which evidently takes about 30 seconds to overcook. The server told us that the chef had overcooked the first batch so they brought us some soup to tide us over. When our dinner arrived, my fish was perfect but my husbands was overcooked. The server quickly whisked it away and came back with a new piece soon after. It was good this time. They always make things right."

"A few inconsistencies with the food preparation were disappointing. Overall, the food had good flavor and some things were very good. The fat on my duck breast was not properly rendered, leaving it chewy and hard to eat. The "spoon" cornbread was inedible due to the shear graininess. The calamari appetizer sauce was excellent, but the calamari itself was overly breaded and nothing special. The spinach salad was good, but too covered in heavy cheese and the bacon was hard and chewy, leaving me wanting something fresher.
Seems like the chef's excellent menu was just poorly executed or modified in the wrong way. Don't know if it was one bad night by the chefs or a consistent issue. I'd go back if there weren't so many others to try."

"The food and service were wonderful. I would especially recommend this place for business dinners or entertaining out of town guests. It won't let you down. They were very kind to my 4-year-old which I really appreciated. They offer healthy food for kids, which many restaurants do not. We will be back many times for many different occasions. The view of the boats, by the way, is really terrific."

"I am a foodie, so I feel like I am pickier than a lot of diners...probably pickier than I should be.
I had ZERO complaints about Marker 32. This may have been the best meal of my life.
The waiter will try to sell you on the broiled oysters- go for it. The octopus salad was amazing, and my scallops were seared perfectly. I even managed to eat dessert- perfect key lime creme brulee. The cocktails were also amazing- glad to see more restaurants serving cocktails with St. Germain.
Definitely a must try if you are in the area."

"The location is perfect. A hidden gem off busy Beach Blvd. Upon being seated we were presented with a surprise glass of champagne in recognition of our anniversary. The food was wonderful from appetizer to dessert! The staff made us feel welcome and appreciated. What a treat!"
