Welcome to Paradou, a little bit of Provençal paradise in the heart of Manhattan’s Meatpacking District. Behind the sky-blue doors of a 19th century carriage house, is a restaurant that will transport you to your own quiet, romantic corner of the South of France.
High ceilings and white-washed brick walls, bar and tables constructed of vintage French wine crates are the backdrop for a highly acclaimed list featuring more than 40 French wines, matched by an equally extensive and innovative seasonal menu overseen by Paul Bocuse & Daniel Boulud alum, Executive Chef, Kfir Ben Ari.
As warm, welcoming and inviting as Paradou is, it is OUR HIDDEN, YEAR-ROUND GARDEN that makes it a true refuge in NYC. Possessing one of the most unique outdoor, all-season spaces, Paradou offers a wonderful setting for gatherings, whether an intimate dinner for two or large parties up to 100, in a private corner of idyllic Provençe in the heart of New York.
"Our dinner was a very nice experience. Appetizers, entrees and desserts were all tasty and well presented. The room held the noise a bit higher than I would like for an intimate dinner, but I highly recommend Paradou on account of the food."

"We came here one Friday night- a group of girls who were planning on a night out in Meatpacking. The food was fine but the service was not. The waiters (well, one in particular) were extremely rude to us. I admit, we stayed until the restaurant closed as we were talking and catching up. But rather than being asked politely to leave we'd been told "we'd outstayed our welcome". Before that, my friend tried to make another reservation and she was told to "just leave". I understand that the waiters have a long day and are tired and keen to get home but there are certainly more polite and customer-friendly ways to deal with that situation. I would very much hesistate to recommend this place to anyone as a result."

"Had the foie gras assortment, and tried all five!! It was wonderful. Steak tartar amazing, one of the best I ever had! Would defiantly go back. Only complaint was that it was too loud."

"Food was good and the unlimited champagne cocktails are a big part of the reason to go for brunch. However, the noise level (mostly due to music) is very loud. We found ourselves shouting at each other trying to have a conversation. Music level was more approporiate for a night club than for brunch. Basically, it's a headache waiting ot happen - either the champagne or the noise..."

"We came at Brunch-rush hour, but the Owner was extremely nice and coming to the table recommending what to get and checking up on us. very nice touch! Food took a little longer since literally everyone arrived at 1, but it was fine and we had a great time."

"I will never go back. If you go for the AYCD brunch they will literally kick you out after your 2 hrs are up! Automatic gratuity of 20% put on bill as well.
Def do not not come for the service, they treat the customers like animals.
The manager, Neil or Quin was absolutely horrible and the restaurant should be embarrassed that he represents their company.
Food was good, great deal for 30 bucks. A lot of champagne, but the price was not worth the treatment we received.
We will never go back."

"On a weekday night, restaurant half full, we were seated at 9:00, main course served at 10:30PM, no apology, overpriced wine list. While the food was inventive, it was too late to save the evening :("

"The food was very, very good. A few of us split some appetizers and we each got an entree. The grilled octopus and cheese platter is amazing. There is a wine special--for $19, you can have wine all night as long as you order an entree and appetizer. A few people this did at my table and it was very worth it. The service was so-so..getting drinks took almost 20-30 minutes, appetizers took close to 45-60 minutes and dinner was served almost 2hrs after we first sat. The food made it worth it, but the service definitely brings it down."

"Arrived after a long day of sightseeing. Found a lovely bottle of Vosne Romanee to quaff down from the "specialty" list, and then discovered two wonderful southern french dishes to enjoy, one a Cassoulet and the other a duck breast. Opened up with a sensational octopus and merguez sausage appetizer. The chef took the time to stop by and ask how we enjoyed the food. People should be aware that the entrance/front room is tiny, but there is a second and much larger dining room in back."

"understood, valentines day is not the best way to judge a restaurant, but If you going to do a prix fixe, then advertise it as so on your website. If you're going to add a mandatory 20% service charge, then put it on your menu, so it's not a surprise. These are not "givens". And to that food that was pre-prepared, inedible red-snapper, cold and old steak. Hotel -style pate starters and deserts that were phoned-in by the chef hours previously made this one of the worst dining experiences I've had in NYC in many years. Since the service was a given, there was obviously no need on their part to do anything. Felt like another $200 mark. Had to go find my waiter in a dining room of 8 tables. And of course the bill came wrong. Amateur hour."

"They forgot to write that there was a pre-fixe menu on the site, so when we got there for V-day instead of a full menu, we had no choices at all. One menu for women and one for men.
Very disapointing."

"We came here for a bachelorette party brunch and turned out to be the least rowdy crowd in the place. we went for brunch around noon on a Sunday, and to be honest, we were not among those having bottomless champagne brunch, might have been more fun if we had. The back room was also incredibly crowded and I had to squeeze past people and sit with a tree against the back of my head."

"Sat in the garden, against the temporary wall, on a frigid January Saturday night and almost froze to death. Heat blasts occasionally in the middle of the room but for those sitting against the wall, there is a constant draft from outside (above and below). Food was ok, drinks were ok, bit of a tight squeeze for a table of 4 but cute, romantic place. We were also sharing the garden with a large wedding party/reception so that may have been the reason for the crowdedness."
