Route 6 Restaurant
Named after the famed highway that begins in Provincetown, Mass., and runs through the heart of Cape Cod, Route 6 celebrates the cuisine that is beloved in coastal towns from Maine to Maryland. Offering a seasonal, sea-to-table menu with classic dishes from Executive Chef Seth High, such as clam chowder, lobster rolls, and buttermilk fried oysters as well as daily lobster and whole fish selections, this 150 seat restaurant will instantly transport you to the relaxing lifestyle of the eastern shore. A spectacular wood-burning oven and grill adds a distinct flavor to the food while filling the room with the smells of oak and fruit woods. The chef's counter, with seating for 20, is the ideal spot to order oysters and clams from the raw bar, and peek into the open kitchen. Dessert is not to be missed, as pies and cobblers are served up hot and fresh. The beverage list will feature 20 beers by the bottle and six on tap.

"My daughter and I took my father and my two brothers and it was well worth it. We were seated almost immediately, the table was great. The food was outstanding as well as the service and the chocolate bread pudding was to die for. I will be making reservations for my girlfriends and I for the end of the month."

"Now we can confirm that it's not only excellent but consistently so after another dozen delicious oysters and some cherrystones, fresh and perfectly shucked. The spaghetti with clams was perfectly al dente and a true delight, and my wife's Greek salad was excellent. The prosecco is a bit pricey, as is the muscadet - and these are, for us at least, the wines of choice (on Route 6's list, anyway) with clams and oysters. But the beverage list has something for everyone, with some well priced seafood-friendly wines like a nice albarino. It's our new favorite raw bar - nice place with easy parking, great food, space around the tables and lively but quiet enough to hear your companion. Simple food done well - it's what's for dinner!"

"Really nice wood fired seafood entrees... very extensive raw bar but did not have anything from it this time. The sides were inventive and really tasty like curried heirloom carrots and grilled corn on the cob. Had the wood fire rock fish which was excellent. Everyone at the table was satisfied. Bread pudding with chocolate topped with banana ice cream was the perfect ending!"

"My wife and two of our friends took me out for my birthday. I could have been more pleased with the choice. It is not a high class dining room but a wonderful, down home, "come as you are" restaurant with fantastic food. It features selections similar to what one would experience in New England seafood restaurants. I plan to return."

"I was disappointed in the portions of seafood. I got 6 shrimp and they were overcooked for my entree. the soups were fantastic. I would be embarrassed t bring guests and have them get a large plate with 6 shrimp, two pieces of broccoli. My husband had the halibut which was well cooked and excellent but looked ridiculous on the large plate with two small portions of vegetables."

"About six months ago, we dined at route 6 for the first time and we were disappointed. From the food to the service, everything seemed so bland and blase. Well, what a difference a few months make. This time, every single item was great. The clam chowder seemed thicker and more flavorful. My "10" on the clam chowder scale is Hog Island in S.F. and this comes awfully close. Our entrees were just as good, swordfish and salmon on cedar plank. Serious kudos to Route 6 for providing us with a really special experience. Thanks!"

"I grew up eating cherrystones and blue points with my father in the raw bars on Albany Avenue Boulevard in my native Atlantic City (yes, I'm THAT old). Route 6 made me feel like a happy, satisfied kid again - delicious and perfectly shucked seafood, pleasant & excellent waitstaff who let us enjoy a leisurely meal despite a busy dinner hour. With huge choice and seasonal goodies like great soft shell crabs, it's paradise for people like us. 12 different oysters!! Best this time around were East Beach Blonds (big meaty flavor) and Blue Points ("the" east coast oyster - tastes & smells like a misty morning on the AC beach). Route 6 is our new favorite raw bar & seafood place."

"As a native New Englander I was skeptical that I would like Route 6. Other than the obvious typo on the memo; someone needs to express that the calamari is from Point Judith not Judith Point. I am not sure where Judith Point is having spent many a summer (and still do) on Block Island I have never heard of Judith Point but have taken many a ferry out of Point Judith. The service was excellent, and the cocktails very creative. Would have been nice to see more New England style cocktails on the menu, but we enjoyed it. Worth a return trip."

"NJ Shore ambiance in downtown Philadelphia. Food was well prepared. Wife had crabcake which was all meat and little breading and excellent flavor. I had seafood platter, a bit over cooked but garlic broccoli and asparagus were excellent. Very pricey. Lobster roll with fries was $23.00. Crab cake and seafood platter were $26 each. Downside very noisy. Bar same room as restaurant, hard ceiling and floor made talking difficult. Group seating away from bar and have partition so may me quieter.

"I was with 4 people and everyone really really enjoyed it.
My only reason for not giving it 4 stars is that I did not like my main dish the trout. I told the waiter it was not my favorite and he did nothing about it except give us free coffee.

"Upon entering the double doors you'll find the space open and airy, yet cozy. The wait-staff was very friendly and attentive. If I were to recommend a particular item(s) from the varied menu, it would be the Striped Bass with rosemary marbled potatoes, and grilled asparagas. Utterly delectable!"

"The waiter was friendly and knowledgable. I felt uncomfortable when the waiter was standing at the table while we were getting our money together for the bill.We had to ask him to give us a minute. Overall the service was good."

"This was my second time visiting Route 6 for Sunday Brunch. I visit frequently for happy hour. All of my experiences have been great here. The host staff, wait staff, and managers are all very nice people. They always make you feel welcome at Route 6. I would highly recommend visiting!"

"We have consistently had good food and service and Route 6 and highly recommend it. We have made last minute Open Table reservations on week nights, and these have extra special. Because they are not over-run with diners, the noise level is manageable. Regardless of how busy it is, Route 6 servers are always great. Try the lobster role and crab deviled eggs. They are the best."

"I'm been to Route 6 at least a dozen times and I always order the same thing and it's a shame because there are so many other great apps and entrees. I'm a raw bar nut so I always start with a dozen clams or oysters and I just can't pass up the Lobster Roll for my entree.
I did it again on Wednesday evening.

"Was surprised to learn my reservation still fell under the brunch time so that caught our group off guard....the food was about average as was the service which didn't really match up well with their above average prices!!! "When you walk into Route 6 you are transported to a beach town having great seafood. You forget you are in Philadelphia yet alone on North Broad. Route 6 is a great escape! We went with our kids and had a blast. Everything was great, the raw bar, lobster roll, fish sandwich, everything!!!!! We can't wait to go back."

"My family went here as a big group, for a special occasion...it has a very energetic, fun vibe. We were in a rush and had special requests on top of it. The staff could not have been more professional, friendly and supportive. And the food was just excellent!"

"Reserved a table for four for my Sister's Birthday, Everything was terrific from the moment we entered the restaurant to when we left. Cherrystone clams from the raw bar were fantastic. Our salads and soups surprised everyone. All entrees were tasty and prepared to perfection."

"Wonderful atmosphere-would like to go back when weather is warmer, but lots of windows, nice and bright. The fish was all fresh and extremely well prepared. . Something for everyone-raw bar was amazing, scallops were amazing, as was the salmon."
