"What a wonderful surprise! This is definitely NOT the Larchmont Grill which was just average. The Larchmont is OUTSTANDING in every way and a magnificent edition to the neighborhood. There were four of us and we all HIGHLY recommend it."

"The Larchmont is a great addition to the neighborhood. Interesting cocktails, the bartender can customize them to suit your taste, wonderful food - the halibut was perfect, and I love the new, more modern interior."

"Suffers in comparison, unfortunately, with its predecessor at this location, old The Larchmont Grill. The food is over oiled (which many patrons like, but we don't) and lacks sensitivity, e.g., the delicate raw yellowtail was overwhelmed by its accompanyments, and the halibut was neither the freshest nor spiced with sensitivity. The bread came pre-buttered and had to be asked for twice, finally arriving with the main course, but the service was otherwise excellent. It's a nice setting, particularly the patio, which is quieter than the main room. But we won't be back."

"The new owners of the Larchmont (formerly the Larchmont Grill) had taken a dowdy restaurant that was a safe bet for slightly overpriced comfort food and have turned it into a true bistro. From the signature cocktails, to the delicious small plates (the pork belly is great), to main courses ranging from classic French poulet sous la brique (a wonderful way of getting a crispy chicken dish without frying) to Moroccan-style lamb, The Larchmont has finally given Hancock Park a real option for dining besides pasta."

"The decor was fine ... a bit stark. But ... no bar at lunch. Hence no Bloody Mary's. Limited lunch menu. Two of the seven women couldn't find anything beyond french fries to order."

"This is a new incarnation of the old Larchmont Grill which was bought by some prominent chefs. Although the food is very good and lives up to its predecessor, the atmosphere has become fairly sterile. The old restaurant was warm, cozy and inviting. Unfortunately, the new people decided that perhaps it was a little too comfy and not edgy enough so decided to paint everything but the chairs white. I understand the need to distance themselves from the previous restaurant, but maybe they didn't have to go so overboard in the redecorating."

"Not a fan. Food was OK but not great and not a good value. I would pay more for better food. Limited menu. It's in it's early awkward stage but I don't see it going anywhere."

"This was our first time back since the new owners re-opened the restaurant, which is in our neighborhood. We love the new bar, and the new, cleaner look of the main dining room. The service was uneven, but that is probably due to just opening; we will give it another chance. The wine selections are good but pricey. The kale salad and chicken under a brick were both outstanding."

"This restaurant is brand new, replacing our neighborhood Larchmont Grill. The chef combines ingredients and flavors expertly, and, although some combinations are unusual, they all work in a complementary way. We were impressed and will return."

"I joined Larchmont the week before its formal opening. We ate in the first floor dining room. The space is lovely and the perfect mix of cozy and yet modern. The food was good and the service was strong. My wish would be there was a better 2-top table location. Both were next to doors and had high traffic.
Glad this chef driven place is in the neighborhood."

"Not sure if they are still working out the kinks, but I would probably not go back. Our waiter, although very nice, barely came to our table. We had reservations for 8:30pm, but at 9:15pm we still hadn't been asked to take our order. The whole meal took over 2 hours and all we ordered were 3 beets salads, Brussels sprouts and fries. I hate to compare The Larchmont to Larchmont Grill, but unfortunately I must...before they closed, a waitress said they were keeping the same wait staff and that some menu items would remain the same. That was not true. The menu was totally different with few options. I definitely miss Larchmont Grill and can't say I'd come back to this restaurant."

"What a great addition to the neighborhood! I've gone twice in the past week: dinner with the husband and a business lunch. Both meals were exceptional--farm to table and delicious. The room is cozy and beautiful, the service elegant and relaxed. So happy to have a new local. Feel very lucky to live so close to The Larchmont!"

"Excellent yellowtail crudo and really tasteful chicken. Not fair to compare to the Grill. Smaller menu but better wine list. Panna was a nice desert and had never cared for the pies before. Give the guys a chance to get settled!"

"The mussels appetizer was exceptional. jack crudo was just okay. Among the entrees, the steak was underwhelming, even though the fries that came with it were excellent. The chicken was good, although the breast was overcooked.
The wait staff were very sweet, though not very knowledgeable about the menu, the ingredients, or how the dishes are prepared.
The interior is beautiful and romantic and very inviting. They haven't officially opened yet, so I have high hopes for The Larchmont."

"My first visit since the change of ownership and rebranding as The Larchmont (formerly The Larchmont Grill). First day they were open for lunch and clearly they had not worked out all the kinks yet. The waitress denied they served cocktails (despite the fully stocked bar) not sure if that was ignorance on her part or a licensing issue. I ordered a kale salad that was very good, I also ordered "roasted vegetables from the farmer's market" which based on the description I assumed would be a variety of vegetables, instead I was brought a plate of roasted carrots. After complaining it was replaced with a medley of vegetables sauteed in oil. The lobster mac n cheese is no longer on the menu. Not sure if I'll be back anytime soon."
