"Scallop app is well executed. Deckle and pork shoulder entrees were both outstanding dishes. Peanut butter dessert tasted like to most fabulous Reece-cup ever imagined. The manager paired an excellent wine for the pork. The beer selection was noteworthy as well. Definitely will be back and will recommend."

"A great dinner experience with better-than-average cocktails, solid beer and wine selection. Appetizers were great, meat plate large enough for four to share. Seafood entres were superb. Ate here on vacation but this would be a regular spot for us if we were local given the daily published menu."

"This was our 2nd visit. The first was when the resaurant had just opened, and the servers were clearly inexperienced. On this visit, there was a noticable improvement, although the helpers cleared away our bread plates between the appetizers and entree! But the main server spotted it immediately and brought new plates and bread. The food was fabulous agan!"

"Celebrating Mothers' Day made this a special occasion for me, but everyone at our table felt special. The service was characteristically impeccable and the food was unbelievable! With attention to temperature (even the truffle fries stayed warm!), textures (veggies were not mushy, nor too crisp), flavor pairings (nothing overpowered), and originality (the shredded pork pouches were to die for!) , each plate was prepared perfectly. We will be back!"

"We had an outstanding dinner at The Macintosh. Our waiter Russgen patiently guided us through the creative menu choices. We selected Lonizo Salad and Cavatelli as apps and Barrelfish and Sheepshead as entrees. All outstanding !! A good Pinot Noir and the special dessert of the day(goat cheese cake) completed our meal. The Macintosh definitely lived up to its reviews !!"

"This is one of the best meals my husband and I have had in Charleston. From the minute we entered the small, dark restaurant on a recent Saturday evening, the service was high class, our waiter was very helpful and the food was absolutely amazing. We each ordered a starter. My husband ordered the Ramp Cavatelli and the next day he was still talking about how amazing it was. I ordered the Lonzino Salad which had everything a girl can love: strawberries, cured pork loin, pistachios and Manchego cheese. Our dinners included the Crispy Duck Breast and the Pork Confit. We ordered a side of brussel sprouts and kale. Everything was seasoned perfectly and presented beautifully. We loved this restaurant experience and would recommend it to anyone"

"The Macintosh does everything right. Had the deckle and the pork shoulder following three starter plates. Every dish was near perfection. Server recommended a wine we had never had, and it perfectly complimented the food. The Macintosh is a MUST GO!"

"Seems like a lot of the up and coming Charleston restaurants are on upper King. Our meal here was delightful, with excellent service. "Warm , industrial chic. Rich wood floors horizontally laid on the walls with medium-dark grey leather seating. Pipes and ducts exposed. Very loud. After reading the reviews, I had to try the "Mac Attack" (bone marrow bread pudding, pork belly, poached egg and sauce. OMG! With the bread pudding there was a perfect integration of creamy custard and bread. The pork belly was crusted on the outside and pull apart tender inside. I did scrape away some fat which would have put it totally over the top. Just a little sautéed spinach in there, a token offering to the health gods. The Bloodies were wonderful. We are now succumbing to a Mac Attack nap!"

"The preparations were very complex but menu wasnt especially appetizing. Chef Bacon very good at atypical combinations but they werent necessarily appealing.VG deckle beef & duck but accompaniments just so so. Lonzino ham salad was good but skimpy on greens. "We loved the Macintosh. the Deckle was every bit as good as other reviews have stated. The carrot salad was good and the scallops appetizer was excellet. My husband and I shared all 3 of these dishes and it was just enough food. We left satisfied but not overstuffed. The wait staff was super professional and very attentive. The ghost pepper cocktail was surprisingly refreshing with a nice little 'kick' in the finish.
I would recommend the Macintosh for a wonderful taste of the South."

"Followed our waiter's (Chip) recommendations and very pleased except my entree (cabia?) was overcooked and bland. Wife had scallops which were great. "We went to Macintosh to celebrate our one year anniversary and just loved it. The service was excellent and very professional. The food - heavenly! Everything on the menu looked incredible, but we had the lotima salad and gnudi to start and the deckle and pork shoulder for dinner, then the apple bread pudding to finish. We brought our own wine ($20 corkage fee) and loved everything about the evening. Highly recommended!"

"The food is outstanding! We started with the butcher board which consisted of house made meats and was delicious. One of the specials was tile fish with a fennel puree and it was a perfect. Partner had the glazed pork shoulder, also delicious. The dessert, a sticky bun bread pudding was one of the best desserts I've ever eaten. This is a wonderful restaurant and I can't wait to eat here again."

"Excellent food preparation and taste. Somewhat limited menu offset by excellence of selections. The Deckle, despite the odd name, was wonderful. "This was our third time to “The Mac” and as usual it did not disappoint. We shared two Starters the Gnudi and the Sausage Plate both were outstanding and all of us agreed we could make a meal just from the appetizers. For the Entrees the Deckle and the Flounder were ordered and were OUTSTANDING! If you never had the Deckle then you owe yourself a trip to “The Mac” just to try it. This has become my favorite downtown Charleston restaurant. Thank You!"

"Took our CofC son with us last week - great spot - Started with the Scallops and the Percorino Truffle Frites. Scallops were seared perfectly - and consider yourself warned - the Frites are addictive! A large bowl of crispy shoestring potatoes perfect for munching on by the whole table - would love to make them at home! Dinner was the Grilled Deckle - my son ate every bite - I loved the duck breast -crispy with tasty sides of garbanzo beans, mustard greens and onions - the grilled cobia was perfectly seasoned - another good choice. Dessert was the decadent chocolate brownie s'more -very rich - you only need a few bites - great to share. Service was great - glasses kept filled and the waiter answered very question - menu is interesting!"

"Very disappointed in the crispy duck . Beans with spicy sausage? Duck was not crispy , very different from the crispy duck (leg) served last time we were there. This combination did not work for me!"

"While the Sweetbreads appetizers could have had a crispier coating, the bed of Collard Greens with Bacon bits were out of this world amazing. I could have made a meal on these along. The Grilled Deckle was a perfect medium rare and had great flavor. The Bread Pudding tasted like a rich Grilled cheese sandwich. However only the center of the dish had the true flavor while the outer portion was just cooked bread

The wife loved the Hot and Sour Pork Belly Soup which was seasoned just right in a Rich broth. Her Tile fish served over a medley vegetables and Spaetzle was perfectly cooked and delicious.

The flowerless Peanut butter and Chocolate cake a rich perfect balance between sweet and savory was a great way to end the mea"

"I just loved the Macintosh (and my husband and teenage daughter did too)!! Very well thought out dishes - you could tell the chef was diligent in developing the menu - ingredients that build and complement each other, interesting local and house made ingredients that cannot be found everywhere, unusual tastes but so delicious. The staff was extremely knowledgable and friendly. And a first - a thoughtful wine list that complements the food, doesn't break the bank, and taste good!
Well done Macintosh. Will definitely be back. All the accolades your are receiving are well deserved."

"We were a group of six and had a table up front in the window- it was fashion week and the restaurant was hopping. The MacIntosh is a fun restaurant to be seated in. Despite how busy everything was, we had a terrific waiter who never neglected us and a delicious dinner. The hot and sour soup was out of this world! We all thoroughly enjoyed our meal and our evening."

"The menu offered a range of bold and innovative choices which you don't often find today. We started with beef tongue carpaccio and sweetbreads, each prepared to perfection with a unique Southern flair. We followed with a vegetarian dish of local rice with a range of local greens including kale and fern blossom. On the side we enjoyed a bone marrow infused brioche. The service did justice to Southern hospitality. One of the best meals we've ever had...and we've had some good ones."

"This was my fist time dining here. Ive been to the bar area several times and had always been enticed by the food I saw being served. The burger is excellent and the chicken fried sweetbreads. If your in the mood for a rich and savory side, try the bone marrow bread pudding. Our server Malcolm was knowledgable and attentive. By far one of my best dining experiences in the city. After the meal, be sure to go upstairs to the Cocktail Club for a signature beverage and energetic atmosphere."

"The menu changes daily...only the best and freshest ingredients around. Outstanding service... The waiter was knowledgeable and passionate about the food. I truly don't care for scallops but he was so enthusiastic that I ordered them and they were out of this world. The deckel was like butter. The cinnamon roll bread pudding was to die for. Even the bread. (from Butcher and Bee) was excellent. And they refilled my champagne glass gratis! Perfection!"
