"We visited Pittsburgh Blue for Father's Day. Having been for lunch and dinner before, we decided to make brunch reservations. I am so happy we did! I did not expect a steak house to have such a diverse, tasty brunch menu! Everything we ordered was fantastic and we gobbled up the complimentary mini churro-like crisps. Service was excellent (Matt) and my husband was extremely pleased. Isn't that all that matters on Father's Day? We will definitely be going back and recommending Pittsburgh Blue to everyone we know!"

"Scallops appetizer seemed undercooked, lobster tail over-cooked and rubbery, hubby sent steak back twice to get to desired level of Medium. Great service otherwise. Ambience is nothing to see; very basic and bland; some odd combos. Would not rush back to dine there. However, AMAZING cheesecake!!!"

"The crab cakes were great, service was efficient & friendly then we got our main course. My husband ordered his steak medium rare plus and the first half of his steak was cooked perfectly. He cut into the other side and there wasn't any pink. He showed the server and the server agreed that it was a well done steak.. The server asked if the first half of the steak was properly cooked and when my husband said it was he said okay and that was that. No offer of free dessert or drinks or taking anything off the check. We won't be going back. We will drive the extra 10-15 minutes to Capital Grille :)"

"We went for dinner on a Friday night and each of our party of 4 ordered steaks (1 medium, 1 medium plus, and 2 medium well orders) and they were all excellent and cooked perfectly to order. Also, the service was fantastic - the staff at the hostess stand were so friendly, the server was knowledgeable and friendly, and she and the person clearing the tables were each attentive without being intrusive. Overall the evening was fantastic and we will definitely be returning."

"Pittsburgh Blue always has phenomenal steaks. Their sides are very large, so always make sure to share with at least 1-2 people. The waiter seemed to forget about us from time to time and messed up our drink order multiple times, but overall decent service. Always the go-to spot for special occasions. Quick pricey, but the steaks are out of this world."

"As in many steak houses the steak and prime rib were quite good but the prices that were charged were insane. There are many other fine steak houses in the Twin Cities that offer the same excellent food without the sticker shock. The mashed potatoes came to us fully loaded as promised but were tepid at best and our waiter checked back with us only once to see if all was ok. In a restaurant that has "snob appeal" perhaps the food should match."

"Much much much too loud - we were seated in a booth (which we requested since it's usually quieter) right in front of the open kitchen. Between the kitchen noises and the staff congregating right by our booth it was difficult to hold a conversation. Unfortunately, there were no other open booths or we would have asked to change."

"Went out to eat to celebrate a birthday celebration. Sat down, got a beverage, was greeted by the most cheerful and pleasant server. He explained everything so well and always made sure we were enjoying our food and wine once we received them. Pittsburgh Blue is definitely something I will be recommending to family and friends. Yes it was busy because it was Friday, but due to the amazing atmosphere, you didn't notice how busy it was. I give this restaurant two thumbs up! You definitely went above and beyond anything I had expected."

"Met some friends for lunch on a Saturday. We were seated in a booth, which would not have been my preference. With handbags and shopping bags was a bit crowded. It was, however, somewhat private for conversation as the restaurant was not crowded, probably due to the holiday weekend.The food, once again, was very very good, but the lunch menu prices are higher than most similar restaurants and the cheapest glass of wine is $10.
Service was adequate but not special. The one glaring service failure was that two of my friends decided to split an entrée, but it arrived on one plate and they had to ask for an empty plate and transfer half of the food themselves. It should have been split in the kitchen before serving. That was unacceptable."

"I enjoyed a long business lunch on the patio and it was wonderful. The only reason I gave the service 4 stars was because we waited a long time trying to get our check. "I have experienced and enjoyed Pittsburgh Blue on three occasions---two for Sunday brunch/lunch and one for a weekday lunch. Each visit has been excellent. The food is superb and the atmosphere great!!! The noise level, even when there are greater numbers in the restaurant, is low. The seating arrangement lends itself to a sense of privacy and comfort. Staff are appropriately attentive, knowledgeable, and welcoming. I will be returning and bringing others."

"Our party of ten had a wonderful time at Pittsburgh Blue. We are all meat eaters and the steaks were done perfect. Great seasonings and tender! The family style sides were the right amount and a great way to serve them. The service was extraordinary and definitely made the evening more special. Our server had personality galore and made sure everyone was having a great time. She even brought a chair cushion for grandma to sit on!"

"My husband and I enjoyed the flank steak and the shrimp and grits. The shrimp and grits was outstanding and would do again. The grits were firm (more like a polenta) and the steak was excellent - however, I expected more blue cheese in the blue cheese has browns (flavor was VERY mild).

"My wife and I have had several delicious and affordable lunches at Pittsburgh Blue. Based on that experience, we invited friends to join us for dinner there. None of us was prepared for the menu prices. Seeing steaks ranging in price from $30 to $55 (ala carte) was shocking and embarrassing for us and our guests. Our check came to $170, before tip, with one glass of wine and one beer, but no appetizers or desserts."

"For a place that is known for excellent steaks, there were issues. The first steak on my salad was mostly fat & chewy - had to send back which the server graciously did. The second one was too rare (medium rare when I requested medium) and also fatty. Not impressed. The scallops benedict that my mom selected was overly salty and the size of an appetizer. On the flip side, the staff is excellent and do a great job - but surprisingly the food could be better."

"From extremely indifferent servers to VERY lack luster food, I wouldn't go back. One server made it her job all during Mother's Day brunch, to be as loud as she could be. She moved a table about eight feet and made such a loud, prolonged noise, I was awestruck that she could make that loud of noise for that prolonged of a period just by moving a table. Then, every time she put clean silver away, she threw it where it went with such force that it couldn't be any louder or more annoying (this happened about every ten minutes). We coined her "the loud one." First and last time there."

"We drove up from Mankato to do some shopping and have dined at PB several times. It is a great restaurant that has great food and service. It isn't as pricey as a Manny's or Kincaid's but the food quality is great. Don't get me wrong, manny's is an excellent restaurant, but the food at Pittsburgh Blue is the best outside of downtown Minneapolis. On Sunday lunch they have a Hangover burger that is excellent. When we have been there for dinner, pretty much anything is great. We like their calamari for an appetizer. You can't go wrong with this restaurant."

"The entrees and sides were delicious, the desserts were just OK. I had made reservations for our family of 8, on a Thursday evening. The noise level was so loud we could not visit with each other. It took a very long time for our drinks, and our entrees and our desserts to come out and the service was just so so. For spending 400 dollars for the experience, I was underwhelmed by the service."

"Our waiter pointed out that the potatoes and veggies came in quantities large enough to feed all 4 of us. He also had no problem with two of us splitting a meat entree. In short, he made the ordering process smarter for us, and we didn't wind up with all kinds of leftover food that no one could eat. The filets were sublime. We will go back."

"I surprised my husband with dinner reservations to celebrate our anniversary. Neither of us had ever been here, or even heard of this place for that matter. The atmosphere was quite inviting. I was pleased to see a huge variety of diners. Our server was a peach. She was friendly and knowledgable and made absolutely every effort to make sure that it was a pleasant experience for us. The steaks were out of this world, and the green beans were some of the best I have ever had. I am sure we will be back..."
