"Very enjoyable experience. Service was brilliant and food was fantastic. Ive dined here for sinner many times but never for Brunch. Brunch on Mother's Day was just as amazing as any other dinner I've had there. The staff was friendly, helpful, happy to make recommendations and genuinely made us feel valued. I was impressed with service which was very attentive without being in any way intrusive. Will definitely return, worth traveling from San Mateo for. The ONLY thing I had a hard time with was the $35 cork fee for brunch. I've understand the fee for dinner and have paid with no hesitation in my past visits. However the fee represented 85% of the total tab."

"The decor is lovely, and the ambiance was fine. Our server was overly present. For example, when we were in coversation she arrived to take our order and just parked herself at our table waiting for us to respond to her. It would have been better if she just asked if we were ready to order - or just let us complete our conversation without hovering. As for the food, perhaps I didn't order very well. I selected a Brussel Sprouts appetizer (!) that was finished with too much vinegar and a soft boiled egg. It was just to acidic and gooey. I ordered the lamb chops, and found they were oversalted. Finally, this is a very expensive place. I didn't think this restaurant measured up to the price."

"This restaurant is nice for a romantic evening out.
The food is delicious and the wine was very good (our waiter gave us excellent advice for our selection based on our preferences). The side dishes were very good, too, especially the french fries and creamed spinach.

"We went on a Sunday night which was probably quieter than Fri/Sat. Our server was great, very friendly and informative. This was our first visit as we live in Menlo Park and hadn't made the drive to Los Gatos.
All of the food was delicious and the presentation was beautiful. There were definitely unique combinations and flavors. Desserts were nice as well. Portions weren't too big. Nice that the restaurant offered traditional greek dishes as well as more innovative options."

"I really wanted to impress my guests so i decided to come to Dio Deka. I loved the Spanish style of the hotel upon arriving. I wished I would have taken advantage of the outdoor seating before dinner.The staff was very accommodating. The appetizers were so delicious. I really enjoyed the octopus. The Greek salad was fresh and very flavorful. I had fish for the entree. It was prepared perfectly. We sat near the bar so there was great energy around us. I can't wait to go back. My guests enjoyed their food and my company. Thanks to Dio Deka!"

"I was disappointed with our seating. They recognized us as repeat customers and the restaurant was less than 1/3 full, yet they seated our party of 3 right next to the kitchen. "Every time we eat at Dio Deka the food is better than the last time. Everything on the menu is delicious, the atmosphere is perfect and the service is excellent.
I'd recommend ordering the baby back ribs to start. The steaks, the moussakkas(sp), the chicken, the lamb are all fabulous entrees and anything on the dessert menu is to die for."

"The food was excellent. The host was very friendly and engaging but as this was the first time dinning at Dio Deka in quit some time the feeling from our waiter was "you are not regulars so why should I care about you". I ordered a glass of wine to start with and I felt like he was disappointed that I didn't order a bottle. When my friend only ordered a salad as her entree it seemed that he was unhappy that the bill wasn't going to be higher. Despite the fact that the dinning room was only about one third full it seemed that he was trying to "turn" the table."

"Dio Deka is a fabulous venue. It's easy to get to, valet parking is complimentary, and the service was outstanding. We received our food in a timely manner and our waiter was very helpful in helping us choose our meal. My only complaint is that the females who work there wore some skimpy clothing... It was a distraction, to say the least, and they looked so uncomfortable in their high heels. I don't know how they last all night in those things. Besides that, it was a great time!"

"The chef believes that salt is a vegetable and should be used liberally. Both the appetizers and the main courses had so much salt added that they were uncomfortable to consume. Unfortunate as the quality of the ingredients was excellent and the flavors should have been permitted to flourish on their own."

"Very high quality food consistent with it's one star rating. Service perfunctory and good but a bit disappointing considering the high cost. Seated next to the service counter - suspect that their best customers are not seated in that busy, noisy and well lit area. I could hear OK even considering the significant background noise level."

"Have been to DD many times and have always considered it one of those places that you go for a special event and a better than you average dining experience. However went here on President's day and the place was empty which in itself was not an issue, however we felt like we were rushed through our dinner. Our appetizers took exactly 5 minutes from order and our main meal took six. No offer of a second glass of wine.
Food was food but not exceptional and the service made me feel like I was at a Denny's on a Sunday am and they needed the table."

"We went on Valentine's Day, and unfortunately Dio Deka was a "miss" for us. The marketing made us think we'd get a creative, upscale take on mediterranean/Greek food, but it really fell flat. We had reservations for 8:45pm and were not seated until 9:20pm. The music helped, but most places that make you wait that long offer a drink on the house, send some hors d'ouvres by or something, but we got nada.
Our dinner service was nice, attentive, but of the dishes we had (lamb meatballs, grilled octopus, bean stew, grilled lamb) the meatballs were ok, and the stew was quite good. But the octopus lacked flavor & the lamb was so salty we had to send it back, and I love salt. Not what we expected given the touted Manresa pedigree."

"I am a frequent visitor to Dio Deka and always enjoy it. My recent visit was equally excellent. The food was outstanding. The service level was excellent. On tihs occassion the noise level better than usual. It can be noisy. However, I think that adds to the energy of the place. However, given the general noise level I could not recommend this restaurant for a serious business dinner where comminucation would be critical."

"This is a lovely restaurant. The tables are nicely spaced so you don't feel like you're sitting on top of other diners. The decor is understated but very attractive and appropriate for the restaurant. The service is excellent and they do a very good job of explaining what each item is when they deliver it. And, most importantly, the food is excellent and interesting."
