"everything on the menu looks fantastic! it was a little overwhelming, but our server was great- pointed out some really great suggestions and provided excellent service- i don't know any restaurant where I have received my drink order so quickly!- Thank you! Only Con- Just wish everything was little less expensive so you could order/try more! We are from Atlanta where there were some great restaurant options. It was nice to find a place that reminded us of our "old" home :)
Thank you!"

"Was back here on Friday afternoon with a good friend and we had the pleasure of having Christye wait on us again. Finally tried the burger which was freshly ground in house and perfectly prepared to order. Similar blends of premium cuts for quality burgers at double the price in New York or Miami can't compare to the Edison's superb offering; no finer bun has been devised in the state of Florida and, for once, was actually devoured instead of being set aside. Add the homemade ketchup to the hand cut fries and your taste buds will want to lead you to a carnivorous diet regimen. When visiting the Edison, don't make the same mistake I haven't been able to overcome; leave room for the five star desserts!"

"The food is interesting & inventive. Definite foodie fare. The wine list is a good mix of new and old world wines. It's loud like a big city restaurant- which adds to the ambiance of this small location. Excellent overall."

"We had a reservation for lunch but in a half full restaurant they seated us in a dark hall like area, I am assuming for the convenience of the wait staff. Our food took too long to arrive and then did not arrive all together with no explanation. I had the tenderloin "satay" which was chunks of plain slightly grizzly, under salted (no salt available), lukewarm tenderloin skewered over a kind of sweet paste sauce with stringy snow peas. No one was interested in why I didn't eat it or want to take it home. I predict this place will be out of business within the next 6 months."

"The food here is always very tasty and creative. The menu changes all the time, depending on what's freshly available to the chef. If I understand correctly, the chef came from notable Tampa restaurant, SideBerns - another favorite of mine. 2 Notable dishes I've had here before were the Smoked Tomato Soup and the Bacon and Conch Fritters. Wines and Beer lean toward small vinyards/microbrewery types so you get some unique tastes to pair with the unique food. The restaurant is not that large, so reservations in advance (especially for Friday or Saturday) are essential. It can be a bit noisy when busy, and parking can be problematic. Prices for a full meal & appetizer from about $35 to $75 dollars per person depending on what you get. Try it!"

"If you love food and want unique, flavorful, thoughtful dishes, then this is the place for you. We were so impressed with not only everything we ate, but everything on the menu in how thought out the flavor profiles were created. We've added this restaurant to our "must return to" list."

"Another great night at Edison! With impeccable and such enjoyable service right from the start, we knew we were in for a great evening. The oysters were amazing ... the appetizers and entree perfection.
The one disappointment was the wine service. The cheap glasses are horrid ... especially the bulky ones for red wine. Secondly, the red wines were served hot -- at room temperature -- which was just unacceptable for a fine dining restaurant. I've complained before about this but after all these months nothing changed. I therefore only order white wine at Edison which is a shame."

"I stumbled upon this place when I was on a business trip to Tampa and I'm so glad I did. The menu is huge - and it seems like each dish has around 100 ingredients, but it works! There are so many things to try, you'll definitely want to share."

"Was our favorite restaurant in S Tampa- brought out of town relatives for dinner- was almost 45 min late getting us back- biggest issue was they were out of multiple things we picked- first wine selected, took 3 tries to get a beer picked that wasn't out, and finally was out of the entree chosen. We have been to restaurant 4-5 times and was mostly impressived by variety of items offered. Disappointed with lack of offerings actually available. Need to be prepared!!:("

"went for lunch, though it seems like the ambiance would have been improved with night. had that day's steak and eggs. it was steak tartare and quail eggs, and it was delicious. the skill and creativity of the dishes already places edison in a league above most of tampa's dining, but the price places this restaurant in a league of it's own. it has always seemed busy at night, and no wonder."

"My husband and I had a lovely and memorable date night at Edison Food+Drink Lab. For a couple of delightful hours, we could easily have been in New York or San Francisco. The inventive menu was fun to read, and the dishes wowed us with both taste and presentation. We sampled 5 starters and 2 desserts, and we were 7 for 7! The most distinctive and delicious were the burrata with pumpkin seed pesto, the steak (tartar) and eggs, and the lemon tart. Our only disappointment is that we were too full to try any of the larger dishes, which all sounded tantalizingly good. We'll visit soon to rectify that. This combination of first-class contemporary cuisine with friendly, laid-back neighborhood vibe is perfect for us. Well-done, Edison!"

"This was my second time at Edisons - and both times, the food was DELICIOUS. I went once with the ladies - and it was a perfect ladies' night out venue. The last time I went on a date, and it was also a great place for a date (for first dates, too!). If you like tapas-style dining, you will enjoy this place."

"I was very disappointed in the dish I had (scallops) which came highly recommended by the server. The scallops were good BUT the sides were blah, no flavor and very very disappointing for the price of $36.00 (not bad if the entire entree was good but for 4 scallops & bad side items...too pricey). On the other hand- my husband had the soft shell crab-- great! And the sides were delicious & very flavorful. I was glad he had a great meal and shared his sides with me. I love the variety and combiniations of foods the chef has come up with. SInce I was fortunate enough to try my hubbies great dinner- I will give Edison another try. The staff are very friendly."

"The food was really good and there were some unique item choices. I think they should actually do a little more with the theme to be honest. The only thing edison or lab reminiscent were the edison bulbs in the fixtures and the erlenmeyer flasks displayed, but not actually being used, on the shelves behind the bar. Even just using the lab glassware as the drinking glasses would do it. Maybe they do do that, perhaps using them as carafes, but I didn't see it. However, I did see the coffee that you have made at your table-side being brewed at a table near mine. That was pretty cool and very reminiscent of a chemistry lab."

"The food was good but not outstanding. The service was great, everyone was friendly. I was pretty surprised with their name being food and drink lab that they didn't serve liquor, only beer and wine. Overall the experience was ok. We probably wouldn't choose to go again but if a group invited us we would."

"The Seared Yellowfin Tuna paired with mashed and roasted chickpeas and greens was perfect. The arugula salad with fresh cornmeal breaded fried green tomatoes and goat cheese was light and enough for 2. My friend had the grilled Scottish Salmon and loved it.
Perfect spot for dinner before going to a show at the Straz.
Yes, the kinks have been worked out at this hip eating place and is a must visit for a delicious upscale meal with attentive but not intrusive service.
Thx Edison's Team!"

"This place was ok. Just that, ok. For all the hype that has been surrounding it since it opened, it didn't fulfill any sort of foodie expectations. The menu was interesting enough but the actual execution was nothing special. The food wasn't bad--it just wasn't great enough that I'd revisit. Dessert was probably the only saving grace. Service was rushed and pushy and the place wasn't really hopping, probably would've helped liven up the ambiance. Was an overall mediocre experience."

"Always a very good meal- they don't have a liquor licence so its wine & beer- but if 4 people come in you can bring a bottle and if you buy one they waive the corks fee. Goat cheese truffles are wonderful - so are the potato crusted oysters. Chicken & waffles were yum! Don't get the crawlers for dessert - everything else was very good:)"

"The Good: The food was really terrific. Thoughtfully prepared, executed and presented. We dined with onophiles, who were somewhat disappointed in the the wine list, although the Bedrock Sauvignon Blanc and the red Blend were both what we expected. Overall the list left our friends a bit flat. The medium: Our server was pleasant and gave good solid service but nothing more. The Bad: the noise on a Wednesday night was deafening. It made our dining experience not a pleasure. Baffeling or some noise reduction is needed-please. The seating for all of us was horrid. I've been in Penticostal churches where the pews are more comfortable."

"Went with a group of 6 to celebrate my 45th. What a perfect fit! The food was outstanding! If you have a taste for trying something new, this is for you. The chef creates combinations of ingredients that most people would never combine and it works beautifully together. I am not a foie gras person and refused 3 times before everyone else insisted I had to... We ended up ordering a 2nd one it was so delicious. The favorite entre was the Buttermilf Fried Chicken with butternut Squash waffles and truffle honey. Wow! The only thing that would have improved our visit is if they had a full liquor bar instead of just beer and wine and they unleashed their creativity on the bar as well. Waitress said its coming in May! Perfection"

"Chef Jeanie Pierola's work has always been very inventive & creative and yet also always hit or miss. Our experience was no different. Edison is a bustling atmosphere which isn't bad except when trying to hear a server's recommendations or placing a wine order. The food, while presented beautifully, had many low and high points. Some dishes were full of flavor and freshness like the gazpacho & buratto appetizer, while others lacked flavor completely (the conch-bacon fritters and caesar salad - a wet lettuce mess). The 4 in our party ordered different entrees from cobia to kobe steak. We all agreed that "fair" was the best description. Desserts were good. Apple cobbler! Yum!"

"Very uneven. Some dishes were devine, but others were huge disappointment:Salmon Tartare had so much heat it was inedible ...and I love heat!! Seared fois gras was oversalted. Service very uneven. Wrong dishes brought in wrong order. First came too fast and then a huge wait for next course."

"If you like Trendy, this place will appeal to you. If you like an innovative menu and creative dishes, the place is outstanding. But if you want a quiet, relaxed atmosphere that allows you to enjoy your meal and be able to talk to and hear your guests conversation, then forget it. Edison is loud and boisterous. Ruined my experience. I won't go back!"

"This is just what Tampa needs. Reminds me of NYC style restaurants; inventive, unique, delicious! Every thing we ordered was excellent; from the goat cheese truffles to the smoked fish rillette, the pork belly and steak & eggs! we shared two entrees: chicken and waffles- cooked perfectly; and the bacon wrapped halibut was phenomenal. Would recommend this place to anyone looking to try something new and different- fantastic foodie experience; we can't wait to go back and try everything!"

"Well, we liked Edison, but the food is so busy. There is a lot going on with each dish. I tend to like less in my dishes and a 'cleaner' approach to food. For those of you that love complex dishes, this is your place. I will go back, but it wont be a place I visit every week. Also for my husband who does not like fish, the menu is limited. I did get a similar dish to what I had at Dos Palillos-cooked bone with marrow. Very interesting dish."
