"The food was great... just wish I would have had the chance to finish it. Our party was rushed at the end of our dinner to get the next seating in. I understand that they are running a business and need to turn tables over and wouldn't have minded, but the service had been slow throughout our entire dinner. I took a bite of my dinner, turned to join the conversation beside me and when I returned to have another bite, my (half-full) plate had already been taken away. When you're paying $50 for a steak, you would expect to be able to eat it!"

"My wife and I have so few nights to ourselves since our daughter was born just over a year ago, so when we do have a date night it needs to be great. I chose Boehmer based on the location and reviews. It was the perfect choice! My wife commented "I am so lucky hat I married a man with taste!" The food was amazing, the space was so cool, and the staff were so,e of the best I have seen in the city."

"Really enjoyed everything about Boehmer's. If you added some acoustic dampening materials in the space e.g on the walls or fixtures to absorb some of the noise then I think that I would increase all of the ratings since the environment would become more comfortable."

"The Food is excellent and service great however the noise level is like being in a bar with the volume cranked up to the highest. Cannot carry on a conversation without shouting over the noise. Too bad management did not heed our 3 request to turn it down."

"The food was excellent as was the service. Generous portion sizes at very reasonable prices for the very high quality. Boehmer exceeded my high expectations. I would highly recommend this restaurant to all.

Friendly, knowledgeable wait staff, overall staffing levels very high enabling the wait person to focus on service not food delivery.

Very nice, airy space, with very generous and much appreciated spacing of tables. The large bar and surfaces did make it quite loud at times, but we could still talk and hear ourselves think so not offensive. A few sound baffles in the room would raise the ambiance from very good to excellent.

Limited wine list but reasonable markups, interesting cocktail list."

"I made my reservation via Open Table, and got a follow up email with a confirmation number and a phone call the day before confirming my table...Great!!! Well....The anticipation wore off very VERY quickly. The waiter came up to us and never introduced himself. My friend and I waited an hour and 24 mins for our main meal. I ordered the Lobster bisque and that took a half an hour. My friend ordered Steak frites, which was totally incorrect- raw meat instead of medium rare.
We were very disappointed with the whole experience, which is SAD as a resident on Ossington Ave. This restaurant needs to hire or put more people in the kitchen to lower the wait for meals.....Will NOT go back or recommend this restaurant even to my worse enemy."

"I look forward to repeating my visits. I do plan to have group gatherings at Boehmer. Ideal in every way. If I can make one request. It was a little too bright. I don't like dark restaurants but I did feel a little under a spot light. Service and food and your cocktail list was delicious and delightful.

"We were a table of 6, celebrating a 30th birthday. We wanted the evening to be special. We were extremely disappointed with our main courses. The two seafood dishes (black cod and mixed seafood) were appetizer size...basically an insult....however they were decently prepared but nothing special. The steak and lamb dishes were fair and one of the pork chop dishes was nearly impossible to eat because of the amount of fat and gristle. I was tempted to complain at the time but did want to spoil the occasion. We will not be recommending Boehmer to friends and will not be returning."

"First visit to Boehmer, although I've admired the chef for a long time. On the whole, the experience was fine, but nothing special. The food is good, but the wine list is overpriced, and the service was sub-par. On arrival, we were immediately given the "I hope somebody told you that we need you out of this table by 9:00 pm" speech (which was news, and not a great way to begin the meal). Then they brought a completely wrong main course, followed by a 15 minute delay for the right item, while my companion's meal sat in front of her: disappointing and not really like having dinner "together" since our meals were on the table at the same time for only a few minutes. Nice room and good energy, but unlikely to return soon."

"The restaurant is very nicely decorated. Love the modern decor. It is large open space, so it gets a bit noisy however it is a very lively and trendy place. Our waitress was fantastic. Friendly and thorough. I went there for winterlicious and had the Yukon Gold Potato soup for starter...YUMMY! For a main, I had the beef cheeks. The portion was very large and quite tasty. My company however, had the gnocchi in a sundried tomatoe & wild mushroom sauce. I tried it and found it did not have much flavour. :( The dessert was lavender creme brulee...again that was YUMMY! Overall, I would recommend you give it a try. The regular menu is a little on the pricey side...just sayin'."

"The waiter inadvertently took my guests drink away too early. (We were distracted in conversation). When we mentioned to waiter, the bartender sent back a glass with a tiny portion at the bottom. It was the lowest class gesture any of us have ever seen at a restaurant. I was the host of these business guests and I was embarrassed. it became the "Larry David"-situation discussion for the rest of the dinner.This story will be told far and wide. It's bizarre."

"The decor is very interesting and modern eclectic but in my opinion the decor is much better than the food itself. We had the calamari to share to start and I was very disappointed. I felt as if this was the kind of dish that I'd make up in my own kitchen. I expect a little something more special from a restaurant that prides itself on quality and creative dishes. Our server was alright and somewhat helpful but the entire staff just seemed bored and disinterested. The gnocchi was the best part of the mea, quite delicious actually and the scallops were just ok. The flourless chocolate cake is just shameful, do not go there! I'm usually one to try any place twice but i'm afraid I would be very hesitant to go back again."

"Two of us recently enjoyed an evening at Boehmer. Overall, the food was very good and well-portioned. We also had cocktails to start which were also delicious, and the wine list looked pretty good.

However the food was pretty slow to come out of the kitchen, which was a bit of a surprise since the restaurant was not completely full (especially since we arrived relatively early too). Also, we could clearly see most of the servers were waiting at the counter for food to come out. Despite that, the service itself was good - the servers were attentive and apologized for what was obviously a delay with the kitchen."

"Went with friends for Winterlicious. The food was superb, I had the charbroiled calamari, which was cooked to perfection and the braised beefcheeks that were so tender and delicious! The portions were surprisingly large, a lot of restaurants skimp on portions for Winterlicious, but not here. They offer a good wine and cocktail selection. We all immensely enjoyed our evening and will definitely go back. Would highly recommend this restaurant."

"I went to Boehmer for the first time to sample the Winterlicious menu. Although they were out of one of the appetizer by the time our reservation rolled around (I was SO looking forward to the grilled calamari), the meal was amazing and perfectly proportioned. The staff were attentive and knowledgable, and the actual restaurant was a must see. I can't wait to go back to boehmer again soon."

"We went for winterlicious, we tried all the mains and app's between 5 of us. The mains were dry and lacked basic flavour and the app;s were were just not good the calamari was over grilled, the soup was too sweet. The service took forever (& they weren't that busy)

"Amazing food choices for a winterlicious menu!
We both started with the grilled calamari and ordered a side of house made bread and homemade butter to sop up the 'au jus' on the plate. For the main, my boyfriend ordered the beef cheeks with a potato puree, and it was very good. I ordered the arctic char with winter root vegetables, it was a filling meal without being heavy in your stomach. We also ordered the housemade sausage from their regular menu which was also very good. To wrap up a great meal, I had the lavendar creme brulee and my boyfriend ordered the chocolate and cranberry cheesecake, both desserts were absolutely amazing! Our server was also very attentive and seemed like she genuinely cared about the quality of food & service"

"Best creme brulee I've ever had! Staff was so nice, and the whole experience was wonderful. The food was really good but for the price, left a little something to be desired? "The service was terrible and our 3 course Winterlicious dinner took over 3 hours. With Bohmer serving only the Winterlicious menu, you would expect the mere 9 course options to be prepared quickly and served hot.

I wasn't seated for my 9:00 reservation until 9:30. I was asked to wait in the lounge with drinks and apps and never once saw a server to take my drink/app order.

After waiting 20 minutes to get bread, we finally cancelled the order. We had to wait another 35 minutes for dessert and decided to cancel that as well. Although my group was much younger than majority of clientele, after dining at most of the top restaurants in the city it was very disappointing to receive such poor service and judgment."

"Good food and nice ambiance, but slow service (30 minutes to get our drinks, came to get our order 45 after we were sitted, and got to eat our first meal almost an hour after). It's good if you are not hungry and not in a rush."

"We went to Bohmer during the winterlicious and I've been told it's not the best time to judge a restaurant. I suspect that must be true about the food since what we had good but nothing special. However, we got a bottle of wine from Napa Valley that was just great and made up for the not so outstanding main course that we had. The service is smooth and without any problem. Our waitress spoke well French and was pretty cultured. That's always a gem for a restaurant."
