Welcome to Seiya! Michelin recommended restaurant 2013!!! We consider ourselves to be a Japanese Contemporary restaurant. We have a full sushi bar filled many daily special fish. In addition to our sushi bar, we proudly serve rolls and robata grill.
"Food was pretty good overall. A few drawbacks are 1) the size of the place, it's very small and narrow and my date and I were seated at a rather small table, 2) it's dark, really dark - they could use some more lighting in the evening for sure, and 3) one of the rolls we ordered never came, despite being there for an hour and being told 3 or 4 times it was almost ready. They apologized, took it off the bill, and gave us free ice cream to compensate, but it still was a missing."

"Very creative food that is beautifully plated. Yummy Berkshire pork belly entree, you must try. Nice rolls, very fresh ingredients. The bench wood seats are very uncomfortable, we bring our own cushions so we can enjoy our dinner. Service can be spotty and sometimes rude. All in all, a must try place that is a nice addition to San Carlos."

"Love the food but the atmosphere is a little too cozy for a personal conversation. We usually just eat and go since it isn't the most comfortable place to sit and relax with friends."

"Met a friend for dinner. We both loved the food and the noise level was low enough that we could easily have a conversation. We ordered the Great Balls of Fire based on a Yelp recommendation, and were not disappointed - it was the best sushi I've ever had. The waitress was very helpful with other suggestions. It was pretty pricey, but worth it for a special night out."

"I have been going to this place for close to a year now and it's hands down the best and most consistent sushi on the Peninsula I have been able to find. I highly recommend sitting at the sushi bar if you're not in a large group as the chefs are all friendly and fun to watch."

"I really enjoyed my lunch here. I was pleasantly surprised at the menu and had a hard time deciding what to get. Our table shared the crispy rice, risotta and a sashimi dish and it was all very good. The menu had a lot of things we've all decided we wanted to go back and try!"

"Best sushi I have ever had. Consistently good. Interesting rolls, melt in your mouth nigiri. Have been at least six times over last couple of years, including lunch there this week for my birthday!"

"There seems to be so many Sushi restaurants in every community these days, which is fine. But Seiya seemed a step up--maybe 2 or 3 steps up. The menu has many unique choices and the ones we had were well presented, wonderfully fresh, and the service was very attentive. It's our special occasion Sushi place now."

"Quite possibly the best restaurant in the Peninsula. The food is out of this world and I always starve myself before I go so I can try more of the menu. The uni roll with the raw quail egg is divine as re the seafood tacos. Try them both and I guarantee you'll have more than on helping."
