"I made a reservation here for Mother's Day based on 1) the description of the restaurant on the Four Seasons website and 2) my past (wonderful) experiences with the Four Seasons chain around the world. Bad mistake: the food in the buffet was mediocre at best; the service was negligible; and the atmosphere was close to that of an airport bar (or, as one of our party put it, "I feel like I'm in a Doubletree." None of us could believe we were at a Four Seasons property, especially with the background music (a mix of Led Zeppelin and other "classic rock" tunes). Speaking of music, when I asked one of the hosts if she reduce the volume or change it, she told me it was impossible because it was "satellited in." Four Seasons, what happened?"

"We thoroughly enjoyed the dinner. It was a great choice for a Mother' Day dinner. Nice views of the water, clubby setting of the restaurant, great food and service. Prices were high but not too crazy by standards of an evening out. One complaint: a very pricey wine list. We were fortunate that the restaurant has a Sunday night half-price bottle special."

"I heard mixed reviews from others and now understand. I am often disappointed by Michael Mina restaurants being expensive but lacking service and quality. The restaurant is beautiful and there seem to be lots of staff so you expect top service. We sat promptly but it took a bit for our server to come, we finally ordered drinks, wanted to put apps in, but was advised it might delay entrees if we order them separate. Good thing we did though, as we were hungry and the delicious homemade bread came moments before our apps long after we were sat down. Apps were very good, Entrees were for the most part good, but $34 for a single crabcake in Baltimore is a little much. The burger sounded good, but also lacked. Seafood was a better choice."

"I went to W&W with my brother and his 2 toddlers on a Saturday at midday. We skipped the brunch and just ordered lunch. Brunch options appeared fairly limited, although i didn't really take a close look. The lunch we ordered took quite a long time to make it to our table, despite the place not being very busy. Needless to say, not ideal for lunch with toddlers."

"This is a "best kept secret" located in the Four Seasons hotel. I was so impressed by the quality and presentation of the food that I plan to go back again and again! It was my daughter's 23rd birthday and they made her feel so special by not only providing a special dessert with a birthday candle, but they gave her a hand-written birthday card that all the staff signed. Who does that?!!!! It was so incrediably special to both of us"

"This was my first time going to WIt and Wisdom. I wasn't expecting much because I don't often hold restaurants inside of hotels in the highest regard. I was very pleasantly surprised by all facets of our meal. The staff was very helpful, the food was inventive and delicious, and both the inside and outside were beautiful.
We had the fried scallops, beef tartare, rockfish, and crab cake. The scallops were probably my favorite part of the meal. The only downside was that it was slightly more expensive than I would have expected. I would definitely go back but just for special occasions!"

"Arriving at a boistrous bar scene, there was a little trepedation concerning the noise level, but we were escorted past the chefs to the back of the restaurant to a quiet cul de sac with a fantastic view of the harbor. The other tables were at an adequate distance for the three of us to indulge in active conversation - everyone enjoyed their choice - Ishared the lobster with my former apprentice, now friend, Helen, an RN from DC and my very good friend from West Virginia, Denise Poole who was a well satisfied vegetarian. She enjoyed 3 vegetable entrees - we all indulged in the braised Romaine lettuce - and vowed to copy the recipe when home. The coup de grace was when I shied away from the dessert list-the chef designed a divine assortmen"

"Overall, my friends & I enjoyed drinks and dinner at Wit & Wisdom. The atmosphere & food were great. The bartenders & one cocktail waitress were wonderful. There were, however, two cocktail waitresses that were incredibly inattentive and rude. After my pregnant friend repeatedly asked for water, the waitress finally returned and slammed down the {warm} water in front of her. In addition another guest sitting next to us on the couch must have been an employee, as she occupied most of the servers' attention with chatting & giggling. That guest actually mocked my friends & I when we ordered, & the waitresses laughed it off, creating an awkward and uncomfortable vibe. Fortunately our dinner in the restaurant was fantastic with top service."

"The bar area is really well laid out well and it has cozy couches and chairs to sit and relax with a drink. I felt the bar area was a little slow on the service. Beautiful views of the harbor. Julie the sommelier really knows her wines and made some great suggestions. All four of us had the Lobster Pot Pie and the Oysters. The food was outstanding, agreed by all. The service could not have been better, Todd did a wonderful job taking care of us.The prices I thought were average with any fine dining restaurant. You can keep it reasonable or you can go out with their great wine list. I would highly recommend this restaurant and if you have a client you want to impress, this is the place."

"The food was hit or miss; somethings were extraordinary, something were just ok. The pork belly and bone marrow appetizers were excellent. The cabbage that was served with the rock fish was out of this world. Everything else was just ok and very overpriced. The pork shoulder in particular was much too sweet, so sweet I didn't need dessert.

"Brunch was highly overrated and overpriced. The buffet was a step up from Hampton Inn but hardly what I would have expected from a top-rated restaurant. Dishes tended to be over-salted, the bacon under-cooked, and the risotto way too fatty. The ambiance was the only thing that saved the meal from being a disaster."

"Great view and superb service. The food was very good, although my NY strip was on the fatty and chewy side. Others at my table loved their crab cakes and their Rock Fish. All the food is a la carte so be prepared to pay about $ pp without alcoholic drinks or wine. All in all though, well worth it. An excellent place to impress out of towners as well.

"We enjoyed our dinner at Wit and Wisdom. We had a window-side table with a great view of the harbor area -- very nice -- I'd recommend requesting in when you make a reservation. The food was good -- some comfort foods with a twist -- like lobster pot pie that's partially prepared tableside. Great mac and cheese, too. The prices are slightly high, but it's in a high-rent district so it wasn't surprising. I'd recommend it for special occasions or for cocktails at the bar. Not a good choice for kids."

"My husband and I had date night here over the weekend, and it was fantastic! From complimentary coat check to a view of the open kitchen as they plated our food, the whole experience was magical! Definitely a special occasion location due to the pricing, but worth every penny!"

"I went to Wit & Wisdom for Saturday breakfast with my family. My sister and I debated on whether to take advantage of the breakfast buffet or order off the menu. Our waiter, who was fantastic, recommended that we take advantage of the buffet since there would be more options available; so we went with that. They offered a wide variety of choices that were tasty, but the quality of some of the items were less than expected. The pancakes and the assortment of pastries were dry, but that's the nature of leaving bread products out for customers to take at leisure. I will definitely return to Wit & Wisdom. Their buffet is supremely better than other buffet restaurants, but I'll order off their menu next time."

"This place has it all! We went with a group of 5 plus my 7mo old and had a fantastic time. One of the best meals I've had in a while. Everyone at our table loved our meals (especially the beef tartar and lobster pot pie). The drink menu is outstanding and the view is fantastic - you can see all of the harbor! Loved it!"

"We celebrated our son's 29th birthday at Wit & Wisdom along with his wife. It was a very memorable evening....the food was outstanding and the little touches made such a difference...greeting us when we first arrived and saying Happy Birthday to our son (they knew it was his birthday since I mentioned it on Open Table), having a birthday card signed by the staff at the table when we sat down and bringing out a complimentary birthday dessert with a lit candle! It was a delightful evening!"

"We went to Wit and Wisdom for brunch. This was a bit pricey ($28 buffet brunch) but very good. Spectacular views and the place was only half full. The brunch spread is really impressive, though an insufficient amount of the savory items (sliders and a shrimp/sausage stew) were brought out and only infrequently. In other words, there was sometimes a wait between opportunities to get a slider or some stew, and when they appeared one had to POUNCE. This was mainly a problem with the stew but one of the restaurant staff observed that it could also be a problem with the sliders."

"We just went for lunch but have been for dinner. Wit and Wisdom is one of the nicest places in the Baltimore Washington area. The menu is clever and oh so well presented. The service is knowledgable and charming. The decor is a mix of classic American, stunning harbor view, and modern art."

"I was absolutely thrilled with Wit&Wisdom. The staff was very helpful, the ambiance was fabulous (we went on a Thursday so it wasn't crowded), and the food was absolutely lovely. I tried the bone marrow to start (very good, although I probably wouldn't order it again as it has a very smokey flavor) and the pork as my main. For the dessert, I tried the banana (excellent), and my companion had the Meyer lemon, which was absolutely amazing! Definitely a must-try, and I will be absolutely sure to order it again when I go back - as long as it's on the menu."

"This was my second experience at Wit & Wisdom. The staff is great, however our waitress seemed to have gotten up on the wrong side of the bed and never even cracked a vague hint of a smile. The buffet was great, but some of the fruit was quite aged and in poor shape."

"The service was great but the food was nothing exceptional. Two of us had the Ceasar Salad with Shrimp. It seemed as though the chef was trying hard -- too hard -- to make it unique. the bread was boring, the boiled shrimp tasted boiled, and it was too difficult to eat. Another friend at the table had the hamburger. Again, how do you make this more unique? A half bottle of wine was ordered and bill reflected a different wine which was far more expensive. However, the waiter was accommodating. He also gave us a birthday cupcake for our birthday girl. In the end the $150 bill was not worth it. I guess I expected more."
