"We recently dined at Giorgio's Ristorante and unfortunately were very disappointed. The pleasant greeting and seating by the hostess were the best part of our dinner there. The food was simply not good. The fried calamari was rubbery and accompanied by a watery, flavorless marina; the salads were forgettable; the entrees (veal sorrentino and salmon capri) a crime. Couple that with servers who were literally hovering near the table to remove plates (and who actually removed my spouse's appetizer plate while he was putting the last bite in his mouth) and a proprietor who can take away two 3/4-uneaten entree plates without asking whether something was wrong, and you have an evening I'd prefer not to repeat."

"We are from out of town. Finding the restaurant was easy and there is plenty of parking. The dining room is very attractive. However,our table was too close to the door and it was very cold every time some one entered or left. Moving to another table was not an option as the only other space was down some steps - not negotiable for a 92 year old. Wait staff was apologetic and very pleasant. We were all very pleased with our dinners. However, the appetizer for one of our party arrived after we had finished ours. And, there were several requests for bread, various dinnerware and milk for the coffee (at dessert). In the end, we all agreed we would like to try this place again - thinking we hit an "off" night."

"My husband and I went to Giorgio's on Valentine's day and it was the perfect place. I had the Sicilian Salad to start and the Chicken Palpeize for my entree which had sundried tomatoes and melted brie cheese (amazing). My husband got the Rib Eye Steak. He is very picky about his steaks and he said it was the best he has had in a long time.
The entire meal was delicious, but what made the night even better was the service. The staff was so warm and inviting, they had a good sense of humor, and just made us feel welcome, while still being extremely attentive to our needs. We will absolutely be back and my husband and I highly recommend Giorgio's."

"By far, the best restaurant in South Orange and trumps any other Italian food in town. We dined with a large group on a busy Saturday night. Every table in the whole restaurant (left and right side) was occupied, but the amount of people didn't stop this place from sending out excellent food and giving stellar service. I was extremely impressed and everyone in our group raved about it. Our food came out promptly, but we weren't rushed. The fact that it is BYOB makes Giorgio's our go-to place without question. We've already made reservations for this weekend and next."

"The service at this restaurant was very poor. We complained to the owner and she did bring us one free dessert (there were 6 of us). She was not even apologetic about the service. We couldn't even get water. The waiter never checked on us. Very unfortunate experience"

"The portions were ample and the food was good. We ordered soup before the main course which took over 20 minutes to arrive. When it did come it was only slightly warm. We sent it back and were not charged for it. The service was very slow. This was not a memorable dining experience."
