"Definite a restaurant to go on Mondays or Tuesdays when is not that crowded. Food is great and location is fantastic. I would not recommend it for Tursdays or Fridays... they have not enough people to attend and it becomes annoying."

"Catch is the best restaurant in NYC on Monday nights. It is packed, energetic, people are well dressed, they smile and the ambience is amazing. Everyone looks happy there. But the most important is food : all is delicious with a real preference for Hamachi tartare, Fried artichoke with tomato (not on the menu but they can make it on demand), crunchy rice, sake chicken with lettuce and the legendary Iris Martini (yummy). It is a pity they stopped the calamari with crab (it was just unreal). Service is perfect, quick. And even if you always have to wait to be seated, you can enjoy the bar in the meantime and have a great Iris martini to put you in the ambience. It makes me happy to see good restaurant be successful."

"This place never disappoints me. The menu is all about seafood, but there's a ton of options. Whether I'm in the mood for sushi or small plates, they have everything. I've been here about five times and the food is always consistent - a trait that's hard to find restaurants around the city. May they never get better or worse."

"My boyfriend and I went to catch celebrate our anniversary. After a short wait we were seated. The waiters were very attentive and constantly changed plates and dinner settings. The sides were served a bit late, after we finished our entrees, but the waiter was very nice and came up to us to let us know that the side would not be added to the bill. Overall an amazing experience and a great place."

"The food and ambience at Catch was really great and what you'd expect to find in the trendy Meat Packing district. We ordered the macaroni and lobster cream appetizer and it was to die for!! But really all aspects of our meal was wonderful and it's a place we'll definitely be visiting again soon."

"Although the food is alright, the service and atmosphere are horrendous. If I'm going to spend $200 on dinner, I expect to receive at least decent service but instead we were never given bread unlike the tables next to us (and even after we asked for it we still got nothing), never got our drinks or fries, and never we're checked up on. We could not order until an hour into our meal. While we were being neglected, our waiter doted on the table immediately next to us, giving them a free appetizer and drink and constantly checking up on them and kept giving is excuses as to why we weren't brought anything. I left the meal feelong cheated and used and can say with certainty that after my fourth visit to Catch I will never dine there again."

"This is the perfect place for a group because you will find a dish to please everyone's taste. Highly recommend the lobster roll (sandwich) as a starter. Everything here is delicious, cannot go wrong.
The only think I'm not the biggest fan of is of the stuck-up hostesses. Besides that, services was good, and food is fantastic."

"Lee our waittress was first rate. She helped us select a Greek wine of all things, steered us towards a great selection of entrees and really made our birthday celebration memorable. The scallops were sensational, the branzino amazing and the bananna split dessert fantastic.

"We were recommended to dine at Catch on our holiday in New York, our expectations were high and we love seafood.
As per previous reviews, the service is TERRIBLE to the point that they handed our bill to us, without asking and before we had even finished our (expensive) bottle of wine.

"Sadly we were rushed through our meal. They didn't have a particular fish item on the menu - sold out even as early as 8.30pm - and the waiter took away a plate from a diner as she was still eating. We wanted to have a coffee at the end of the meal but after we declined a dessert they simply took away the menu and place the bill down. Poor form all round."

"A buzzing atmosphere - the place was packed, but we still were promptly directed to our table upon arrival. Started off with a friendly greating and great cocktails. "i was so looking forward to trying this restaurant and i was so beyond disappointed with pretty much everything. yes, the guy by the door was cute. but is he supposed to just stand there and not respond when people say hello? we had a reservation and we were seated right away. we ordered a few appetizers: tuna over rice cakes, mahi mahi tacos, an assortment of sashimi, and scallops rockefeller. i did not love one of these dishes. we just gave up and stopped ordering food and decided to just have dessert. we had the smores pizza. it was the best thing we had all night long with the hot pretzels they gave us at the beginning of the meal. our server was horrible."

"Took a chance on Catch and enjoyed it very much. The restaurant is big, so i was happy to get a reservation for 7 p.m. the day before. I was slightly apprehensive when I walked into the restaurant's ground floor lobby and it smelled like fish. Upstairs in the bar and restaurant, it was loud, vibrant and the fish smell was gone.
I was meeting friends from London who are regulars at fine restaurants there, so I was hoping that Catch would be good AND cool enough. It was.
We tried MANY small plates and all were delicious and carefully prepared. We tried the sushi - MRC rolls were the best and unique to Catch. The lobster rolls were plentiful and served on homemade rolls.
I would recommend Catch if you like seafood and to be seen."

"I have been to Catch a few times for different occasions. While this is not an inexpensive meal, the food is always outstanding from appetizers, to drinks, entrees and desserts. I recommend the spicy shrimp as an appetizer. The rolls are really fresh and tasty. The whole snapper is delicious as is the lobster mash. For dessert the banana dish is very tasty as is the peanut butter one. Overall, Catch is a place to go to get a great meal. If you go with friends it opens up opportunities to try more dishes which I highly recommend."

"Had all smaller dishes,7 was plenty for 2 light eaters.
We enjoyed the beet salad, soft shell crab roll, lobster roll, spicy shrimp, lobster macaroni, baked shrimp, and the scallops Rockefeller.
Drinks were pricey
Staff were great and attentive.
Only negative was our table for two was a little cramped.
They even wrote Happy Anniversary on the S'more pizza desert plate
Will go back"

"The hostess who "greeted" us was cold and aloof. I own a restaurant and this would never be tolerated. You are supposed to be friendly and obliging. We made an 8:15pm reservation but didn't get a table for 45 minutes. Why make a reservation? Then we are seated in a noisy section directly behind the wait station. The maitre d was kind enough to move our table when my friend asked and even brought us a complimentary appetizer. That showed class and grace under fire. Our waitress was amazing. Very attentive and did a great job. The sushi was great, fresh, great texture and simply delicious. The truffle fries were yummy. Salad was average. My main course, mahi mahi, was over cooked. Overall my wife and I were both underwhelmed."

"Great food and drink, which is mainly all I care about, unless service is bad, then watch out. We had about 5 or 6 small plates and split a dinner. We loved the MRC roll, we ordered a second, but all the plates were well prepared and delicious. Desert was OK, Chocolate brownie, but wife loved the Sorbet, but can you really do bad with sorbet. Wait staff were very attentive, engaging and present.
Entrance is on the side street (14th) not on 9th as the address indicates and no sign."

"The best things we ate were the scallops rockefeller (an appetizer for $22 for 6 small scallops) and the whole fried fish ($72) which is plenty for 2 to share. Oysters, also $22 for 6 were small but tasty. They say to share the dishes, but they are very small. The pasta with crab was also $22 and very very small portion. I think restaurants use the word "tapas" to mean very small plates. And they try and get you to order a whole bunch of the "tapas" and it adds up very quickly. The place is very casual, the service we had was very good. The upstairs has the "hot food" open kitchen which can make it warm, but they put on the a/c at our request and it was fine. We were seated right away and the place was very busy for a Sunday night."
