"Our family went to celebrate Mother's Day. This was probably the nicest buffet I've ever been to. Wait staff was very attentive. It almost seemed like there were too many waiters, esp. since it was buffet. The ambience was very elegant - right down to the giant chandeliers, silverware and the live classical guitarist. That being said, the food was good, but for the price, if you're not big eaters I don't know if it's really worth it. The omelet station was great, as were the shrimp cocktail and many desserts, but some of the appetizers (i.e. poached salmon) were not so great. A nice bonus was that kids under 6 eat free. Our 5 year old enjoyed the meal, so I'm glad we went. If we were ever in the area again, I would probably come back."

"We have been coming here for Mother's Day (and three Birthdays) for 10-15 years. The food selection is getting smaller and the price is pricey, but the food is still very good."

"The Skywater Restaurant at Hilton Minneapolis has the best service, staff, and food -- it simply cannot be beat! My husband and I do not say this lightly -- we were in the food and beverage business for a long time. We have visited Skywater several times over the years, and stayed at the hotel once too, and are always impressed by this establishment! Thank you!"

"A fun, lively atmosphere. A convenient location. Great service. The chef's specials were a good value, but the specials themselves so-so. Still we would go again, were we in the area."

"Staff was attentive without being obtrusive. Lively crowd in bar area as background noise.
Food had mixed results. My friend said the beef barley soup was delicious and so was the large chopped salad. I ordered the special with the orange/basil chicken. The chicken was overly "chewy" and the sweet orange sauce overwhelmed any basil that might have been there. The chopped salad was fine -- nice balanced dressing. The carrot cake (came with special) was amazing and enough to share with at least one other person."

"A very nice Easter brunch. The only thing that was marginal was the prime rib. The sauces were good, but it was a poor cut of meat. Everything else was excellent! The eggs Benedict were exceptional, and the desserts were particularly good this year."

"This was a fairly, nice brunch. I'm not sure it was worth the money. Most brunches give you at least 1 complimentary glass of champagne or a mimosa. Also, they tried to charge us for our 6 year old's meal when the website says "6 and under eat free". So, I had to argue our case with the waitress. It would have been nice if all wait staff would know the age limits of who eats free. The minimal food they had there was good but it was kind of limited choices. For $40 there should be more of variety. I may return but not for a few years."

"From the confirmation call, to the greeting by the maitre'd, to the outstanding service from our server Tracy, we were treated like royalty. I can't remember the last time I've had such great service. We were there for Easter Brunch, and despite the busy day, the quality of food and service was excellent. Fabulous Eggs Benedict and Prime Rib. Delicious desserts. Free Underground parking downtown."

"Very expensive Easter brunch, but good. We got the table that I asked for, but had a noisy, intrusive server. This made it hard to enjoy a quiet reunion, as we are at the age where we forget our stories and have to start over from the beginning ;) One of our party had a visual disability, but her hearing is just fine. This server seemed to think that one needs to shout at disabled individuals. Other than that, the food and its presentation was very good, and we all enjoyed it. I will be more assertive with servers like this in the future, and ask them to just come over when we ask them to, especially for a self-service brunch. I think that she was trying to give us extra attention because of our disabled friend, but it wasn't needed."

"We were given an out-of-the-way round table which accomodated our group wonderfully. We were in a hurry so we all got sandwich-type food. The steakburger was delicious, the chicken wraps were said to be fresh, crisp, and very tasty, and the MN wildrice soup is always a winner!
Thanks for the great food and great service!"

"Went here on Good Friday , not one fish dinner, only a buffet being served because they had a large group in town, beef was the main attraction on the buffet, offered room service fish with high room service prices, the only other hoices were sandwich type lunch items, went there for dinner!"

"I went here for Valentines Day. I was meeting a guy I met on-line. Skywater had the cheapest dinners that night. I was very impressed. I arrived late like all divas should. The staff had seated my guest and offered him a drink. The food was good as it could get for the pricing nice scene. Lot's of people at the bar. The was a group of men watching something on tv but ladies guys hang. here. wink wink."

"What happened? We had always seen Skywater as our go-to dinner spot when we had a downtown event. With the Orchestra lock-out, we have been there less this winter, so we were shocked to see so many changes for the worse! The menu has gotten so limited, we thought perhaps we were handed the lunch instead of the dinner menu, but no! I couldn't get some bread to go with my soup, even though I asked more than once. Please, return this restaurant to is former management/chef/or whatever it takes! Until then, we will be check out other dining spots on the skyways."
