"Phone line was broken. Credit card machine broken. Our very friendly waitress was running on her feet all night. The other unfriendly "waiter" must've been an owner. After being there for 4+ hours, he seemed to want us out. Having been told about the great food, I was a bit disappointed by the scallops I ordered. But the chocolate cremé brulee... wow that was some really amazingly good stuff."

"Went there for dinner on Sunday night with a close friend. We were seated at a table closest to the window which was great for people watching, but the table on the other side of us was extremely close and I felt as though the couple was listening to our entire conversation. It was difficult for the wait staff to reach us to even take our order without shouting over the couple sitting next to us. The food was good but nothing spectacular. I wouldn't make the decision myself to go back, but if a group of friends were going I'd probably joing."

"The service was excellent and the ambience was very good. Three cheese, portobello salad was excellent. Shrimp and pasta dish could have been better. Pasta and sauce were very good, but shrimp had no taste at all. Ravioli dish was okay, but nothing special."

"My friend was late and I was annoyed. The server joked with me and plied me with wine (offering tastes so I could choose) while I waited. He was lovely and adorable. We ended up eating at the bar once my friend arrived (by choice; we were offered a table). Food was presented beautifully and was delicious. We started with a yummy ceviche, then shared two entries-the scallops (I highly recommend them) and the salmon (also quite good). This is a fun go-to in the West Village. It's also very reasonably priced."

"I like this place a Li. I usually have the fish Veracruz, but opted or the pan sautéed salmon and it was terrific. The 3 cheese portobello salad is also a favorite and was as good as ever."

"Cafe Condessa is the perfect little place for great food and conversation in a comfortable, intimate setting. On a Friday night, I met a friend who I hadn't seen in months. We'd made a reservation for 7:30. I was seated as soon as I arrived, even though my friend was a few minutes late. The servers were happy to let us spend 3 hours at our table, without rushing us at all. The food was delicious. I had the scallops with cauliflower and she had the seafood pasta. It was my second time there, and I'll be sure to be back."
