Tavern at Bown Crossing
The Tavern at Bown Crossing is a unique dining experience offering sushi, USDA prime grade steaks, daily seafood specials, burgers, sandwiches and salads. There is a full bar with an extensive wine list, great classic cocktails, sake and draught beers. Happy Hour is available Mon.-Sat. Brunch is served on Sundays from an ala carte menu from 9:30-3 p.m. Our tables range from higher tables in the bar area with a more energetic atmosphere, or booths or a quieter area with lower tables.

"An upscale want to be. Food was quite good, as was the service. The portions were too large and too expensive. I would prefer smaller portions and a lower price. Truly. The Tavern isn't Chandler's, but the prices come close. We may be back."

"This was our first time having dinner at the Tavern. The food was delicious. I had a filet and it was cooked perfectly. The wine list is good. The only think I would suggest is the vegetables included with meal. It was carrots and beans. They were pretty undercooked and not too flavorful. Other than that, it was a great dinner. My mom loved her prime rib & lobster."

"Great restaurant, wonderful menu and specials. Full bar selection as well. Service was far better than expected and our server was a gem so tip reflected that as well. Location was packed so noise level was extremely high to the point where we had to ask server the same questions several times to complete communication. Would not suggest either Friday or Saturday evening attendance unless you don't intend to have any conversation with dinner."

"Having some issues with the last few times I have been in. This is and will always be my favorite restaurant in Boise. However the first time I ordered a to go order. Was told it would be 20-30 minutes. I get to the restaurant and the gal had not even put my order in. A little frustrating. Second experience was recent. A certain waiter that I am not sure if he just doesn't get along too well with certain customers or what but never checked how we felt about our steaks. They were over cooked. Tried to bring this to his attention and he was pulled to another table. Sadly I ended up taking 95% of my food home."

"Our women's group gets together once a month and has dinner somewhere in Boise. We've chosen the Tavern 3-4 times over the last year because of the location food and great service. Our server the other night was great! We were all laughing and joking with him and he was not only excellent with service, but has a great sense of humor. We will be back!"

"Went here for Valentines dinner and enjoyed ourselves. It was busy (they were turning away guests without reservations) which is the best time to review a place. We had dinner, appetizer, drinks and dessert for about $50 each before tip. About average price for good food.
The only problem I have with them is after dinner we decided to enjoy a cup of coffee with our dessert which we were charged for. Perhaps I walk to a different drummer but my feelings are, if we have enjoyed a full meal and drinks at your restaurant and want to enjoy an after dinner cup of "Joe" and you charge me for it, I dont come back. Ive already spent over $100 with you and you want to tack on an extra $5 for coffee? It tells me you dont really want me back."

"Sadly this was the first time I had a poor food experience. I was so sad because I have raved to all of my friends about how wonderful the steaks are at the Tavern and I was let down this time. The waiter tried everything he could and it just never happened. I ended up going home hungry. I won't give up on the Tavern but I was really disappointed."

I was looking online for a steakhouse that had good food, period. I would give up a little on the experience for a great steak. I found your restaurant and it was highly rated. WE HAD A FANTASTIC MEAL, FANTASTIC SERVICE AND A ABSOLUTLY OUTSTANDING FAMILY DINING EXPERIENCE. I wish there were more stars to give you! I will now recommend your restaurant to EVERYONE I talk to! I live in Seattle now and have the choice of many 5 star steakhouses. This restaurant equals ALL of them and, in my opinion, is a cut above because of the fantastic service. If you can, I recommend sitting upstairs. It is signficantly more intimate than downstairs. A++++++++++++++++++++++++"
