"Old Hickory Steakhouse is a consistent destination for a great dining experience. Their food is always flavorful and prepared to specification, the drinks are top shelf, and the river view is beautiful when you get the right table. We always request Andrew as our server for his perfect mix of personal attention, professional skills and spot-on recommendations. We recommend plenty of appetizers and desserts, but the cheese cave is the highlight. The "Cheese Lady" is a delight with her presentation, knowledge and advice. We order a selection of three cheeses each for an appetizer and for desert."

"I grew up in the area so i was ecstatic about the National Harbour opening and I haven't been disappointed. Old Hickory Steakhouse is a great space with beautiful views and is a great setting both for couples and for groups. The service was fantastic with knowledgeable, friendly courteous waitstaff. I will definitely go back - the views were fantastic as well."

"We were greeted immediately with a Happy Birthday and the service was excellent from the start. Excellent table, our waiter Marvin was great and instrumental in getting a happy birthday song sang to my boyfriend for his 50th birthday. The atmosphere was impeccable and the food was superb. "We had a client meeting with eight attendees. The room was good for conversation, food was outstanding and staff was knowledgeable, entertaining and very observant (didn't interrupt at important times of conversation). The only downside was that one side of table did not have individual chairs so some were uncomfortable with little back support (though there were pillows) (also this was just our seating and not all). Being located in a Gaylord Property in the National Harbor doesn't hurt as well for ambiance. Nice job and would recommend!"

"Outrageously expensive. Service slow, despite near-empty dining room. Side dishes are only sold in "family" proportions so unless everyone wants the same vegetables you pay dearly and waste food, or -as we did- eat a mostly meat meal.
Steaks were good, but not great, and at $46 a pop, the bill for 2 appetizers, 2 steaks and 3 glasses of wine topped $250.
Be smart: take a cab to Old Town Alexandria and get your money's worth."

"Outstanding dinner experience. Most hotel restaurants are marginal or just plain bad, but this was excellent in every way. Went to another Old Hickory restaurant at the Gaylord in Nashville several months ago and it too was excellent. The DC restaurant is beautiful in black & white decor and the service and food couldn't have been better.
*wedge salads were great (thick crispy bacon to DIE)
*Filets were cooked and seasoned perfectly
*garlic mashed potatoes were so smooth and cramy and mushrooms were delicious
*carrot cake was very good

"The dining room at Old Hickory luxuriates in space. So many DC restaurants are tightly fit four tops, while Old Hickory leaves you free to not overhear your neighbors. The view of the Wilson Bridge and Potomac was perfect at sunset. Our steaks were properly cooked, and the salads were remarkable. Definitely take them up on the cheese cart."

"Our waiter was amazing! He went out of his way to make us feel special. The cheese was fabulous! My complaint is the main courses and side dishes were only ok. For the price that you are paying it should be really good food. Instead, we got mediocre food. I am the type of person that plans ahead, so I looked at the menu before deciding which restaurant we would go to. Old Hickory had a great menu online, but nothing was the same when we went there. If I had known that was the menu, I wouldn't have gone. All in all, the waiter was great, the food....not worth the price."

"Old Hickory is our place to go for a romantic occassion. We went Sunday evening-far less crowded. The meals are always spot on. We both had their wedge salad (to die for) and their petite beef which was done to perfection. A big surprise was the share side of brussel sprouts. It was off the chain good! If anyone can somehow make a brussel sprout good-Hickory pulled it off. Impressed. We thought they had a very good selection of wines. Waiter was quite knowledgable in menu and wine options (Joe). This is not a place to wear jeans-something more business casual or better. Great experience"

"The food was unremarkable for the price. VERY expensive! The cheese appetizer was exceptional and I would recommend. However, we did not feel that the food served justified the premium prices. We had steak, lamb and crab cakes. Good food but not fabulous! We did think the "shared" table side dishes were a wonderful idea though. The service staff were excellent! Really beautiful view of the harbor!"

"Absolutely perfect dining experience!! Old Hickory Steakhouse is a class act. Breathtaking waterfront views of the sunset, beautiful decor, impeccably polished host & wait staff, & every thing we ordered was delicious and exactly as requested. Took my mom here for her birthday. The staff paid attention to the note I'd made through my Open Table reservation. We got a complimentary piece of chocolate cake w/ candle from our waiter. You MUST order the cheese sampler, even if it's just to have the maitre d'fromage come to your table with her cheese cart & expertise. We ordered: 3 cheese sampler, french onion soup, mxd greens salad, filet mignon (perfectly medium), grilled salmon, crispy brussel sprouts (SO GOOD), and asparagus."

"It was very, very good. Best crab cake that I have eaten..."and I live in Maryland". The Filet-Minion was the best I have eaten. We stayed overnight in the Gaylord and we were a little dismayed by the loud, convention that was going on, but the dining experience made up for the crowded, overbearing hotel experience. We will go back to Old Hickory."

"We dined here on Valentine's day. As it was my first time dining here, i was a bit nervous not knowing if the experience was going to be a positive one. Luckily for us it was. The food was amazing. The atmosphere was incredible. It's exactly the way I like to dine when I go out. Subdued lighting, not too noisy. No kids screaming. Excellent food and service. I loved it. It will definitely be our "spot" from now on. The prices are higher than others, but to me, its worth every dime.

"We arrived on time they did not have the table we requested . Ordered apetizers and dinner appeti Appetizers were good but before we finished our appetizers to serve the dinner my wife's filet was dry and my New York strip was kind of tuffto chew .very bad experience for Valentine's Day It seems like they are rushing out .
