A seed-to-table restaurant that sources ingredients as locally and seasonally as possible, Waterfront Kitchen offers sweeping views of the Baltimore harbor from the western-most tip of Thames Street in historic Fells Point. During the growing season, we partner with Living Classroom’s BUGS (Baltimore Urban Gardening with Students) program to grow our own fresh produce and teach inner-city grade school kids about the joys of good nutrition and gardening. Year-round, we celebrate the beauty of nature’s bounty on the plate, and offer wines from makers that share our commitment to feeding body and soul. Mission-driven dining never tasted so good.

"The view and atmosphere are top notch, food was well prepared and tasty, service was adequate, wine list not very user friendly, and wines by the glass less than desirable. They were out of a cabernet by the glass- unheard of. But the overall experience was very nice."

"Had a great meal for 5 at Waterfront Kitchen. The server was personable, knowledgable, and attentive. We had a wide variety of dishes, including MD crabs, VA chicken, duck, and meatloaf. All were very large servings and well-prepared. Appetizers were excellent also. Next time we will plan ahead better for outdoor dining. Highly recommended!"

"The service was fair. admittedly it was our server 2nd day. The appetizers we small, lacking flavor. The desserts were fair. The Martinis were not made well, they were slightly cold and the bartender served them 3/4 full. However the ambiance was great. My main dish was the Scallops and they were terrific!!!"

"I was really dissapointed. I had the frittata which was highly recomended by the server. It was dry, overcooked and cold. I barely even ate one-third of it. And then they came to take my plate away, the server didn't say anything. My friend got the fench tast which was good, but also over cooked. Dissapointed, because the view is great!"

"The restaurant specializes in sustainable food, and farm to table. They do not disappoint. My husband and I shared a bison chop that was perfectly cooked on fresh, wilted spinach. One of my guests had the duck breast, and another had the roast chicken. All were delicious. The waiter and the kitchen were helpful and accommodating to the 3 people with food allergies and the one person in a wheelchair. It's difficult to get a table with a view for a large party, but the restaurant got us as close as they could. Go and enjoy!"

"This was my first visit to Waterfront Kitchen and I'm sad to say that I was disappointed. Our server was excellent but when she greeted us, she told us that most of the wines by the glass were unavailable. That did not work out well since I ordered fish and my husband ordered veal. All in all, the food was fine but not spectacular. We were celebrating our anniversary and would have preferred the restaurant to be much more special."

"This was our first visit. We ate outside on the deck and it was wonderful and relaxing. I noticed they did have outside heat lamps for those cooler nights. We had a reservation and I would suggest a reservation as the restaurant inside and out was full. The service was impeccable. The food and wine was delightful. We did order lunch from their list of specials (we had the crab cake sandwich). We also ordered their cheese plate appetizer which we enjoyed. A neat, casual dress is sufficient. This is a fine dining restaurant that I would recommend. We will return soon."

"The menu was not what I expected and did not care for any of the selections.
We were seated outside and it too quite awhile to get any service; after placing our order we had to ask for the bread part of the order since no one bothered to bring any.
The actual meal took way to long and we could not understand why since we were there after 1:00pm and it was a set menu??
The chicken I ordered was a small portion and did not have any white meat as I was told by the waiter and I did not care for the stuffing.
For what we were charged, we expected better service and better food,
The view was spectacular, but would not return to try tthe regualar menu due to the bad experience we had that day(Mothers day)"

"We went to Waterfront Kitchen for mother's day.1st, it was prix fixe for $35- a little much for what it included(NO DRINK!).2nd, the hostess was rude when I asked if there was a table by the window, and our waitress was rude the whole time.My mom asked if she could order some eggs on the side, and the waitress snapped back no.When my mom asked for no hollendaise sauce, the waitress didn't answer, pursed her lips, and scribbled something in her notebook. The waitresses were simply unfriendly, although the busboys were kind and polite. We were confused/upset considering we spent $200 on a mediocre brunch.We went to a boutique afterwards-where they informed us that yes,they are "mean" at WK.Although I loved WK before, I will not be going back."

"A group of professional Black women are competent of pay for their meal as everyone else. We were told the restaurant was booked; even so we were the only patrons in the restaurant at 5:00pm. "I wanted to take my girl friend out to dinner for a romantic/special occasion on our one day visit. I chose your restaurant primarily for the view of the bay, with the thought that the experience/view/ambience is what I usually remember about a place (as my girlfriend nor I are real "foodies," we go for the experience). It was too cool outside once the sun set to eat outside so that was unfortunate. The staff was very friendly and everything was quick (a good thing when you're hungry). With my intentions for the night, I wish the scene was more romantic and "fancy." MY mistake on choosing your restaurant as I don't think you're striving to be that. I would recommend you guys as a "foody," market fresh restaurant but not for romance."

"A great location in Baltimore's inner harbor and what a view. It was a bit brisk to sit outside but we enjoy an inside table. Service was very good as our waiter answered all our questions about the specials and the menu. "Sitting outside in moderate weather...was awesome. The food was meh. Chicken sandwich lacked flavor--I had to use a packet of salt I had in my purse because this place is pretentious enough to think they don't need to provide salt and pepper for the table. WRONG. French fries were cold, and seemed to be out of a frozen bag. I hate the kind with some sort of coating on them, and these were like that. Pure, fresh potatoes are what I would expect from here. Never came to see if we needed drink refills. Table near us complained that they didn't have any tomato slice for their hamburger! Probably won't be back considering all the alternatives in Baltimore."

"Really unique ambiance - beautiful (unmatched) view of the harbor. I love wine, and was very impressed by the extensive (seemingly 150+) wine list - by the bottle only. And a bit surprised there were only about 10 available by the glass. Nonetheless, drinks were great :) The food looked/tasted unbelievable, however I found it to be incredibly expensive for what you received. ~$30 per plate I feel was a bit excessive. However, all in all it was a very unique and special experience. Again - the view can't be beat :)"

"Ah, disappointment. We've been before and loved it, but I was not thrilled with our latest visit. Service was odd in that we seemed to have 3 or 4 people waiting on us at different times. We were told specials twice, which was helpful since the first person mumbled/talked too fast and we missed most of what she said. We were asked if we wanted a dessert menu by a different server after we'd already asked for the check. The food took a long time, and yet my pork belly sandwich could have benefited from about 10 more minutes to crisp up, and should have been drained The bread was a greasy mess. Not one of our 3 servers asked if we liked the food. Maybe they knew? What should have been a nice lunch with my father was an expensive let down."

"We went for brunch. The food was fresh and delicious. A rather odd complaint that I had was that the silverware was heavy and unbalanced. Difficult to hold the fork upright to eat a salad. The knife had no ability to cut, even through a piece of bread, without creating a mess. It had no edge. Other than that, the surroundings were very pleasant, the view of the water was great, and the service was very good. Will eat here again."

"The Waterfront Kitchen was a fantastic lunch spot - especially on such a beautiful afternoon. Our request for outdoor seating, made with reservations, was accommodated with no questions asked. We got a great spot with a fantastic view of the harbor and the Domino Sugar plant. The large umbrellas were easily adjustable to block the bright sun while keeping an open view of the water. The special of the day (salmon BLT) was delicious and I would order it again! Service was minimal but efficient. I would recommend Waterfront Kitchen for an above-average meal any day of the week."

"I purchased a living social deal for Waterfront Kitchen and they were very accepting and friendly about it. In the past, I have noticed a touch of snobbery from waitstaff when using a groupon or living social coupon, but here our waitress was nothing but friendly about it. She was very knowledgable, the food was farm fresh, and the Living Classrooms aspect was very interesting to learn about. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a nice romantic evening out. (The restaurant is small and there is no kid-section on the menu, so I would not necessarily say it is kid-friendly, but the table next to us brought children and they seemed to be accommodating well for them.)"

"This was my second time dining at Waterfront and the experience was a tad disappointing. When we asked that my boyfriend's filet mignon be cooked medium well, it was explained in far too much detail, how the kitchen errs on the side of undercooking, so if the dish is sent back, it can be cooked until properly done. My boyfriend's face fell...we were being told upfront that he wasn't going to get exactly what he ordered and would likely have to send it back to the kitchen! He switched to the meatloaf, which was perfectly fine, but not the celebratory meal we had in mind. Additionally we arrived early, when the restaurant had only about 4 or 5 tables seated, but they crowded us all next to each other in the otherwise empty room."

"We had pluses and minuses at Waterfront for dinner. We requested a table not in the corner so that both could see the windows and the hostess exclaimed in an annoyed tone, "I can do that but it changes my whole floor plan!". I was taken a back- if it was such a problem, then don't give us the table. It turned out fine though. We noticed a lack of appetizers. The food was very very good. My cocktail was too strong but they brought me some juice to tone it down. The ice creams were delicious too! Beautiful view. Not sure we'll go back soon but would recommend to others."

"My first time aftr hearing much about Waterfront Kitchen, and I was quite impressed. The bouillabaisse may not have been up to Marseille standards, but it was a very taste local variant, and the oyster stew was outstanding. The duck breast would have stolen my heart for the pureed celeriac and wild mushrooms alone, and the rockfish was very well prepared. Portions are on the large size, so come hungry."

"If you're one for seed to table, waterfront kitchen is a great choice. Great dining room, awesome view (one of the few eateries right on the harbor) and food is excellent. The scallops were ridiculously good and you won't find that snobby atmosphere anywhere - no small portions for $$$$. I shared the scallops (there were 5 big scallops) with my fiancé and it was a perfect shared entree. Highly recommend!"

"I hate to write an unflattering review. We love Waterfront Kitchen. Been many times and will certainly go back. But our most recent meal was a bit of a bust. A 14-top celebrating a birthday was the source of the trouble, but the real problem was the lack of adjustment to that challenge on the part of the kitchen or management. Our server was great - he apologized several times, comped aperitifs and an inedible entree, and offered free dessert. But he appeared to have little support from above. It took an assistant server, apparently of his own volition, to reason with and quiet down the large party. We noted other personnel standing around staring stonily, but no one from management or the kitchen ever apologized or even acknowledged us."

"The location is fantastic but the restaurant is very noisy which wouldn't bother me if the food were fantastic, They seem rather adverse to making any substitutions on the plate which in this day and age is not really acceptable to me. The most amazing thing was the ice cream desert we ordered .Totally overpriced in the first place at $8.00 for three scoops (not large) of ice cream and if you want more than one flavor they add and extra $2.00. What kind of highway robbery is that? Does it take extra effort to scoop out a different
flavor? This alone would discourage me from recommending the restaurant or going back for the brunch as I had planned."

"The server had a very bad attitude , we complained to manager . The bread we were served ws stale . The entrees took over 1 hour to be served . We they were finally served 3 people got th same entree and said it was not good , told waiter and he said he didn't understand what ws bad about it. I had been there months ago and it ws wonderful . We asked & that chef had left . So sorry for them . I would never go back &will tell anyone that asks not to go."

"Wonderful food, excellent service, a bit noisy as the dinning room filled. inspect you coat carefully when leaving. I mistakenly wore someone else's coat out of the dinning room. I quickly returned to collect my coat. (same exact designer coat) Perhaps a better coat check system would prevent this from reoccurring."
