"This is only the second time my wife and I have eaten at Riffs, but it won't be the last. Though we've lived in Boulder for over five years, we still like to visit Pearl Street Mall and "people watch." This time we were going to a play and stopped at Riffs for an early dinner. We had reservations and were seated promptly at a table that was to our liking. The food was excellent. My wife had the steak - which she said she would definitely order again - and I had the fried chicken and biscuit - which was delicious. Riffs was offering a wine special: 40% off on a very nice Chardonnay. It was a while between courses, however, we had plenty of time so we didn't mind. Service was quite good, even though the restaurant was very busy on a Friday."

"I took a work group to Riffs for dinner this week. We had never been then before, and were excited based on the menu and the fact that it was new.
While our main course was good, the appetizers that we ordered were bland and remained uneaten. One person in our party received their ordered dessert, and thought that it was very good.
Service was the biggest problem. Our server forgot drinks, entrees and desserts throughout the evening. We were never offered a second drink, even though all of us had finished our first round and one person had specifically mentioned wanting wine with dinner.
It was worth the adventure, but no one in our group will be returning to Riffs. There are toom any other great restaurants in Boulder."

"This was my third time at Riffs, and it is consistently delicious! The food is innovative and fresh. I had the organic greens with the powdered vinaigrette, and it was awesome. For an entree I had the short rib ravioli over greens. The greens were a little over salted , but not enough to detract from the ravioli goodness. We had apple crisp for dessert, which was scrumptious, and since it was my birthday, it was on the house! Great food, great service, and great restaurant!"

"Ever since I discovered Riffs I am going back on a regular basis. Far from being cheap, the food is reasonably priced for the quality, the portions are human (more European sized) and the food itself is of great quality and the menu is innovative in a way.
I like the limited menu both for food and wine. As far as the wine is concerned, simply chose the varietal you want - you can't go wrong with any of those on the list.

"If you're looking for fusion, you've come to the right place with Riffs. Everything from the Pea Hummus, to the Chicken Tortilla soup, and finishing with the Mango Rice Pudding was delicious. Boulder is filled with restaurants where the same "feel good" atmosphere can be felt, and Riffs is no different. However, if you want to really experience the fusion of different foods coming into each dish you order, go to Riffs and enjoy the experience. You won't be disappointed!!"

"Great place. Food was fabulous. Varied menu. Waitstaff was very friendly but service was sketchy-took forever to get bread after requesting it. The server even stopped by at one point halfway through eating to say the bread would be arriving soon. Really? Bread? How long can it possibly take? No refill on coffee unless you request it, but again, everyone was SO nice it hardly mattered. It has that fun but disorganized feeling."

"We have been to Riffs several times in the last year. The Happy Hour menu is extensive and offers diverse choices from roasted Brussels sprouts to one of the best burgers in town. The atmosphere is "active Bistro," the staff friendly and the prices encourage frequent visits. We never tire of going there and are always glad that we did."

Shocking, considering the high level of service we have received in the past. Would still recommend Riffs, but I think Cat was having an off night.

"We made a full dinner for four out of several of their "small plates." Every dish was wonderful, especially the brussel sprouts, duck confit and short rib ravioli. The "dazed and confused" cocktail is not to be missed if you like ginger. It was a slow night, so I don't know what the service would be like if it were busy, but our server was very attentive, good natured and great with suggestions."

"My husband and i found Riff's by chance in December prior to going to The Boulder Theater. We were excited to make reservations and share the great food and drinks with our daughter and her friends prior to a show at the Boulder Theater this March. The food is fresh with creative combinations not found elsewhere. We each ordered different drinks and were pleased with our choices. It is a fun room. I look forward to returning again when i am in Boulder. Wish there were a Riff's in Denver!!

"We dined here for Restaurant Week. Our first course was amazing, and the second course very good. But our entrees were merely adequate for a restaurant at this price point. The steak I ordered was cooked well but the sauce was fairly bland. My wife's fish was similar--the sauce was not delicious. The food wasn't bad, but there are so many good restaurants in this category in Boulder that I don't think it is worth spending our money here again."

"We were in town for a concert and were able to check out Riffs during restaurant week. Everything we had was great. There were a lot of choices despite being restaurant week which was really nice. Our salads needed about four times the greens to be considered salads, but we like it that way. Only complaint was timing of the main course; we had to wait quite a while, but everything up to that point was well timed."

"The food selections and options were fantastic between the regular menu, the specials menu, and the restaurant week menu. The food presentation was excellent. The food itself was very tasty. The prices during restaurant week were very reasonable. We will be back.
The wine list was very limited. I would suggest adding more options."

"I went during Restaurant Week and sampled their 3-course prix fixe dinner. Both the first and second courses were excellent (starter and salad), and the entree was good. I liked all the choices and they were flexible re: substitutions. Our server was AMAZING - spot on recommendations for both food and paired wines."

"My wife and I dined at Riffs for the first on a slow Monday night. Our server sold us on the Denver Restaurant Week menu, which was fantastic! Evan recommended the sashimi, duck confit, and Mahi Mahi and we were incredibly surprised at the high quality of the food. Service on Pearl street is hot or miss these days, and it was so nice to feel taken care. Our table was cleared, and cleaned of crumbs after each course. We never had to flag down anyone to get new drinks. We will be back soon!"

"I was pleasantly suprised by Riff and would go there again. The food was great and it makes a nice additional to the Pearl Street Mall scene. I am not a "Foodie" but it seems to fit the eclectic American genre well. Servers were great and the place had a good vibe. The schnitzel dish they served was excellent, and I hope they serve it regularly.In a town where diners numb to the many new restaurants that try to state "I am unique and hip" I did not sense that and look forward to coming back as it is positioned well."

"We really enjoyed our first time at Riffs. Prior to our visit, we had walked by it a few times and noted their happy hour plates and drinks were very reasonable so we showed up with part of happy hour to spare. We weren't disappointed. Our server seemed to know the fine line between showing up when we needed her and going away when we wanted to enjoy our dinner. The food was excellent. Everything we tried from the roasted squash and apple soup, the salmon potato croquettes to the quail with risotto was very tasty. I've told a few friends that they have to take advantage of the ease if getting a table here now before their popularity spreads! Great work being done here."

"We had been wanting to try Riffs for a while and went in somewhat unsure of what we would find. We like Q's/Boulderado and knew they were related but that's all we knew.
Very (pleasantly) surprised! The food was well crafted, nicely sized and moderately priced! Wait staff were very attentive, friendly and their recommendations were spot-on. The ability to order small bites, salads, and meals means a lot of selection depending on differing appetites in a great atmosphere. We found a new favorite restaurant!"

"The service could use some professionalism. We had a young kid who looked about 15 who started the night out by dictating what our experience should be there, including how we should order, etc. So we took his advice and ordered several small plates and he proceeded to return to our table every few minutes asking if we had decided on an entree. We were trying to just enjoy our small plates first and finally we told him that and he said that we had 2 minutes before he had to put in an order for a large table and he wanted to get our order in before them. I appreciate the gesture but most restaurants figure that out without being pushy with their other patrons."
