Originally built in 1780 as a working farm, Clay Hill Farm is now a 220-seat restaurant and special occasion venue nestled amidst 11+ acres of rolling lawns, protected woodlands, and colorful gardens. Tranquility waterfall brooks, a pond, two generous garden-view decks and a picture-perfect gazebo, now accent the traditional Maine beauty of the original working Farm. With modern cuisine in a classic setting, Clay Hill Farm has become a popular dining destination in a country escape just 2 miles West of Ogunquit village. With a passion for seasonal and locally-sourced food supporting Maine growers, Clay Hill Farm has won numerous local, regional and national awards for food, ambiance and service. Voted #1 on the Seacoast for weddings & romantic dining.
"This was a fine restaurant with plenty of local charm. The food was fine and so was the service. The sundae we had for dessert really knocked our socks off. But otherwise, a "just fine" place to go for dinner."

"Restaurant is beautiful inside and out. Every staff member was friendly and courteous. The food was the most amazing part. Both the lobster bisque and mushroom bisque were silky and full of flavor. The grilled romaine heart salad was unlike any other i have ever had. The entrees somehow managed to taste even better than they looked. And as full as we were we got dessert as well which words cannot describe, salted caramel ice cream served over a warm brownie with homemade chocolate and caramel sauce. I cannot wait to go back to Maine just to go back to Clay Hill farm."

"Outstanding for quality & quantity of food and ambiance. Would not hesitiate to recommend to anyone. Prices are very competitive to all Up-scale restaurants. First time at Clay Hill was approximately 35 years ago and every time we are in the area we stop in for dinner and have never been disappointed."

"Welcoming from the moment you drive up to valet parking. Every member of the staff is alert , engaging and caring. The dining room is spacious and comfortable the way things should be in Maine. With a menu full of variety and tempting options you already know you must return. The food was phenomenal and the courses paced at a relaxed and perfect tempo. The service staff works well as a team and you feel like the only diners in the place. I wish we had not waited so long to try it and we will be back soon to enjoy it again."

"Clay Hill Farm never disappoints!!!!! My husband and I had our first date here 35 years ago, and although we lived in Los Angeles , we would manage to make it here for an occasional dinner, for the wonderful food, as well as the walk down a wonderful memory lane. Last week was a birthday celebration, and we were pleased to find that everything was still the same, the fabulous food and service. Don't miss the Sunday night. Fire and Ice theme, and DON'T miss the Hananero pasta. One of the best meals I've ever had."

"Lobster bisque is worth a drive from ANYWHERE. Apps and entrees were truly top notch. The chef was absolutely on his game the evening we were there and we'll certainly be back the next time we're in Maine."

"My husband and I went here to celebrate our first anniversary the asparagus app was great however the smoked scallops that were a special were not. For main course I had the duck which was excellent my husbands prime rib however was bland and his side dish was luke warm and gummy. For desert I had the flour less chocolate cake and my husband the banana ice cream both were very good. I loved the view of the gardens but the restaurant needs a facelift."

"Old school elegance. It feels like it's been there forever. It's classy - with live piano music and beautiful gardens. I went with my elderly mother and my 4 young children and all were happy with the food and the experience. The only down side is the cost, which is high, and we weren't drinking. Great spot for a special occasion."

"Service was good, my wife's entre was very good, mine was a pork fillet which was not very tender and somewhat overcooked. The coffee I ordered after the meal was luke-warm. I felt the prices did not correspond with the value received."

"We had a phenomenal experience at Clay Hill Farm. Sat at arguably the best table in the house, and the wait staff was helpful and kind, albeit appearing a little frustrated with our frugal choices (as two graduate students). They split our entree for us ahead of time which was incredibly nice, and the meal was out of this world. We had the clams as an appetizer which absolutely blew my mind, followed by an amazing pork mignon with sweet potato puree and brandy thyme cream. The setting is absolutely beautiful as well. The only reason this got 4 rather than 5 stars is that the chocolate lava cake was nothing special and the wait staff did make it quite clear that we should feel a little bad for not ordering more food."

"Special occasion, special restaurant! We selected the Clay Hill Farm because of a friend's recommendation and because of their dedication to using local sources and produce. Our server, Kelly, was friendly and extremely knowledgeable. We had a few questions about the menu which he quickly answered for us in great detail. My husband and I shared a delicious Charcuterie appetizer plate that included a variety of meats, cheeses, and breads smoked and grilled by the chef. We then shared a fresh seasonal strawberry salad. My husband selected the panko encrusted haddock and I chose the braised pork short ribs for our entrees; both were outstanding. We ended our meal with a yummy ice cream sundae. 5 Stars!"

"Clay Hill Farm is Maine country romance at its best. Located in a beautiful bucolic setting yet only a few miles inland from the Atlantic Ocean, Clay Hill Farm is a gem. This restaurant has a beautiful country setting surrounded by gardens, flowers and trees. The atmosphere is so romantic and quiet. It is the perfect place to bring a date or have a special occasion. The food is reasonable and fresh. The service is top notch. There is also a lovely piano bar that is great in the evening. Clay Hill Farm is one of Southern Maine's best restaurants and is the ultimate romantic date spot. I cannot wait to go back!"

"We thought we were going to someplace special . It wasn't. The place has lots of miles on it . It has seen better days. We both ordered the prime rib. At $29 each you would think they would at least warm it up before presenting it to us They didn't. Mine was cold. We ordered sparkling water to drink. We assumed we would get a large bottle of Pelligrino or something like it. The. Waiter brought out 2 small bottles of poland springs water. Kind of tacky. Poland springs is a fine Product if you are stopping in a 7-11 to get gas. But at a fine dining place? The look of it was not classy. We had an ice cream sundae for dessert . There was nothing notable about it . It was every day store bought ice cream"

"We visited Clay Hill Farm on Easter. It was a busy day. I think every thing went very well. The food was excellent, the service was professional, The building is old, but the atmosphere is great. One thing I think is especially commendable is the staff. They are friendly. well trained, unfailingly polite. They will do anything reasonable to make your visit memorable. I have always said Clay is perhaps the fineast restaurants in Maine. I see no reason to change that opinion based on our experience on Easter sunday."

"We have been going to Clay Hill Farm for years, and find it a special find, in the woods of Cape Neddick. The ambience is lovely, the service excellent, and the food well prepared and presented. We love the piano in the bar area, and everyone is very friendly and accomodating. It's a great place for dinner before the theatre, or just a night out. Prices are perfectly acceptable for the quality of the experience."

"Although we live Clayhill Farm we were disappointed with the menu this visit. Hopefully the chef will see this and change it soon. The smoked dishes and bacon are not something we care for. There are nor enough entree's to choose from."
