The Greek Kitchen offers a classic selection of Greek food; from baked mainstays such as Moussaka and Pastichio, to popular choices such as Lamb Kebabs and Gyros.
"We were seated in the "outer" area of the Greek Kitchen, at the windows facing 10th Avenue. It was quite quiet, and the staff didn't forget about us for a moment. We all drank only water, and our glasses were constantly monitored and refilled. All of us had been there before, but separately, and were able to make good choices from the menu. As two couples who had not dined together before, we had much to discuss, and were not rushed out of the restaurant after we completed our meal. Altogether most satisfactory and to be commended. We had been to the Greek Kitchen a few times previously, and the other couple lived quite close and frequented the restaurant. We look forward to joining them there again."

"We arrived on time and after 10 minutes were told it would be another 15 minutes before a table is available. The problem was a 50 person group was just seated. We knew that even if we were seated, the small kitchen would be overwhelmed by so many orders at once. So we left."

"I found this restaurant at the last minute in my search for good Greek food in the city. I thought the food was very good (with the chicken souvlaki always being my favorite). My friends enjoyed their meals as well. Prices were reasonable and I went home with leftovers."

"The food was good, not otherworldly "amazing," Greek food, but it was good. The decor is simplistic and rustic, but that's of no concern to me as long as the food and service are top notch, then you will have a fan for life. The service was good, a little slow and inattentive at times, but overall, it was a nice place. The octopus salad was my favorite out of it all and the meat sampler was a little too fatty and overcooked."

"I often can't decide between several of my favorites on the menu. I love the Moussaka, gyro platter (with greek fries), and the Melitzanosalata (a smoky eggplant appetizer spread)."

"Decent Greek food at a moderate price. You can get moussaka and many standard Greek dishes, but sadly If you are looking for Greek Meatballs or Kefthedes, (my favorite dish) you won't find it here. Had the chicken souvlaki, spanakopita and hummus and tzatziki and they were all good. The Greek Kitchen is definitely fine for a solid lunch, but keep in mind that the food here is basic, nothing too fancy or over the top. For lunch with a pal or an office mate its fine but I wouldn't come here for a hot date. Atmosphere is like a neighborhood diner, but they do not serve any breakfast food. Service is okay and If you are in the neighborhood and want standard Greek lunch fare, this is an ok pick."

"The Greek Kitchen serves traditional Greek fare at excellent prices. The food is good, the service is friendly, and the noise level is low enough to have a real conversation. Tucked away on 10th Avenue, it's a bit obscure, but worth the trip."

"We haven't been to the Greek Kitchen for a long while and now found that they're even better than before. We love to go there before or after a Philharmonic concert."

"The best Greek restaurant in the city. Huge portions, delicious authentic Greek food, and reasonable prices. The Greek fries are amazing- they're topped with feta cheese. Also all of the main dishes come with a huge Greek salad AND choice of fries, orzo or rice. I have a huge appetite and I alwyas have leftovers for the next day. Love this place! I wish it wasn't so far on the west side :("

"An excellent choice before a night at Lincoln Center. The quality of the food was consistently high and the service was pleasant. Best shish kebab I have had in years."
