Helmed by Executive Chef Chris Mortenson, La Condesa is inspired by the hip, bohemian Condesa neighborhood of Mexico City. La Condesa serves contemporary Mexican cuisine with traditional regional influences. La Condesa also features an extensive premium tequila selection with over 200 varieties of 100% blue agave tequila as well as a host of innovative specialty cocktails. Drawing on the bold flavors and vibrant colors of Mexico City, La Condesa provides an energetic atmosphere with creative, accessible cuisine in the downtown St. Helena in the heart of the Napa Valley.
"La Condesa has the best tequila selection in the Napa Valley and is dedicated to expanding the tequila experience for their patrons. This was the third tasting dinner that I have attended there and I can say without hesitation that they are great. The food and service are very good, but what really sets them apart is the quality of the tequilas and the distillers that they present. Hosted by the Tequila Whisperer, these dinners feature some of the top distillers in the world. The knowledge that you will gain and the joy that these distillers share in the production of their products is just incredible! I look forward to the next tequila tasting dinner and encourage anyone with an interest in spirits to check this out. Thank you La Condesa!"

"We enjoyed our visit to La Condesa. We requested a 5:30 p.m. reservation (being from the Central Time Zone, this equated to 7:30 p.m. at home), and we were the only diners in the restaurant at that time. We would highly recommend the Guacamole and Salsa samplers; both are unique and add extra depth to the meal. The service was excellent, but I would temper this comment with the reminder that we were the only people there at the time. La Condesa is located on the main street of St. Helena, which can make parking somewhat tricky. Overall, it is worth a visit."

"We made a last minute reservation to celebrate my sister's birthday at La Condesa for late lunch/early dinner. I live in Calistoga and have been trying to make my way over here since the end of November. Well, the wait was definitely worth it! Our server rocked (her name was Katherine). She was attentive enough but also gave us our space and time to enjoy ourselves.
As for the food, all I could say was WOW. This is the first time that I've been speechless. Everything was amazing. It trasported my sister and myself back to being in Mexico (I lived in Guadalajara for some time and she in Mexico City). Major props to the kitchen staff for accomplishing a no-easy feat."

"Duck Confit tacos and Puerto Vallarta Ceviche were terrific!! Only complaint was the Tortilla soup which was way too salty - perhaps just a bad batch. Love the margaritas also!! Would come back again!"

"I have to say that the food was amazing, ceviche a bit pricey for the amount you get. Service was not up to par that day. Would definitely like to have a meal here but hope to have a different server. It was disappointing because the food was delicious!"

"Returned to La Condesa after their reopening, had tried it several times prior and was just unable to deal with the very very loud environment. This night I re-tried the restaurand and they happen to have live music..... normally a plus for an establishment but at this location with the hard walls, hard floors, hard everything the sound with the ambient noise is just overwellming!! It is even difficult to place an order with the server standing right beside you. Upon my arrival, I stood at the hostes stand for about 4-5 mins before anyone even acknolleged me. I was just on the verge of leaving when a watress came to seat me. I asked to be seated as far away from the band as possible. The service was acceptable but the food was good."

"If you're looking for something a little different in Mexican style food, this is it. The food is very tasty, and the presentations are unique. Noise level is on the high side."

"A bit pricey for fancy servings of everyday Mexican dishes. Not what I expected after having lived in Mexico and experienced some wonderful cuisine which is different from US-style Mexican food."

"We came back because of the fabulous House Margarite. The chips are light, airy and fresh. The salsa quad was good, but not exceptional. I would have liked the hottest one a bit hotter. Being a vegetarian it was hard to find something on the menu besides the usuals, rice and beans. With that said, it's hard being a vegetarian in most places unless they cater to you. The food here is was very very good. The chocolate desert was to die for. I know we will be back."

"It's hard to eat badly in St. Helena, but, as a local, I applaud the improvements that the new chef, Chris Mortenson, has brought to the menu. Not only is there an ample, diverse menu choice, but they have also filled the niche for affordable, top notch food. Even with shared appetizer and sides and drinks all around, we paid under $50 each and went home with leftovers. The food, a modern take on Mexican, is deliciously unusual without being off-putting. You get a wholly satisfying Mexican food fix, which actually tastes like Mexican food, but here the adventure comes in the subtle undertones that linger in your mouth or the innovative integration of simple ingredients into a traditional dish. Bravo! Live music was wonderful & sottofondo"
