"Perry's steakhouse promises and delivers a high quality experience that start with great service, finely crafted cocktails, a decent list of wines by the glass (albeit not very well priced...but 400% markups are to be expected in a fine dining place which is a steakhouse) and well executed food. The steaks are thick cut and well prepared and the Friday porkchop is a thing of beauty! A beautifully smoked chunk of meat, cooked through yet tender and seared just before service to provide a caramelized crust to enhance the smokiness and rub. The only discordant note is that sometimes they tend to be too generous with the salty rub that does take away from the flavor of the pork and the horrible plastic cups used for serving the applesauce."

"I went for my anniversary, my wife and I have eaten at most of the fine dining estabilishments in the area and this was next on the list. I wasnt too impressed, the waiter was very nice, the hostess was aloof and we seemed to stump her when we asked for a different table, so we decided that the table that was next on her card was good enough. The food was ok at best. I paid $160.00 and the food was slightly better than Chilis."

"Relative to other S.A. restaurants for which one pays @$150 for 2 to dine, Perry's has a long way to go. While our salad and vegetable dishes were good, our entrees were mediocre, particularly the pork which was huge and fatty. The dessert was nothing special. But the ambiance and service were quite nice, so the restaurant just needs to work on making its food match the quality of the surroundings."

"The food was great, but the service was slow and the dining room was so overcrowded that the waiters would rub up against our table when serving other tables and we could hear the entire conversation of the table next to us. Not very romantic...we were seated at a 2 person table behind a pillar, so could not even make eye contact with our server when we needed him. For the price and the atmosphere, I still prefer Kirbys."

"This restaurant experience is one I intend to repeat. Having made a reservation through OpenTable, my group was seated at the exact time of our reservation. Though the restaurant was quite busy, the wait staff was friendly and very attentive. Everyone at our table chose the Friday lunch special - THE PORK CHOP. The presentation, with table side carving for each plate was entertaining and informative. At the suggestion of our waiter we ordered the warm chocolate cake dessert for the four of us and it was the perfect ending to quite enjoyable lunch. The portions are large, so come hunger, and even then you'll probably leave with a "take home bag.""

"Horrible waiter. Kept trying to talk us out of selections I made. I tried to order the martini trio, said I probably would like it because it wasn't enough to drink. We ordered the martinis anyway & they were great! trued to order dessert & he actuallly said, it wasnt going to be worth my wait. He also kept mentioning the prices, as if I couldn't pay for the meal. Also, waiter kept disappearing for long periods of time. Never experienced such poor wait staff in such a nice restaurant. Seriously!?"

"I have to say Perry's is one of my favorite places to eat for special occasions or just dinner with the family, but I was disappointed with the service we received the night we went. We went for my father's birthday and my parents have never been there before. I talked and hyped up the service and quality of food that you all provide. For a place that charges $40-$80 a plate we expect no less than stellar service from our waitstaff. Sadly, it took us 30 minutes just to get our drinks! On top of that, when they did arrive, my father didn't even get the coffee he ordered. Not only did it take this long, but this whole time we didnt even order our food and that probably took another 10-15 minutes after that."

"It is one of the better San Antonio upscale beautiful places. The Friday Pork Chop Lunch is the best value and great accept for too much salted butter. The food is great great and the steaks are prepared to perfection. The bar has a great view of the fountains and will serve you the full menu. The staff provide outstanding service. My wife and I still love the place but remember if you don't like too much salt tell them to not use the house butter sauce. We love to get a drink in the bar."

"We shared appetizers on this, my first visit to Perry's. The oysters were succulant with a fresh, briny taste. I could have eaten the lobster tempura all by myself, it was that good! And the beef carpacio...perfect! Looking forward to trying an entre on my next visit."

"Hands down one of the best dining experiences we have ever had. You can tell that customer service is very important and thrives in the culture of this restaurant. Our server was and her crew made us feel like we were the only group there. The steaks were some of the best I have had in San Antonio. Will definitely go back."

"The food is wonderful, the restaurant is beautiful and on all previous visits the staff has been excellent. On this particular visit we had a waitress who was not very "present" don't know if she was visiting with staff or cooks in kitchen but she wasn't always available."
