"We arrived at Bazin's on a Friday evening, the restaurant has a very open feel with many windows around the outside of the restaurant. The wait staff were very attentive, ensuring we understood the specials and explaining all the accompaniments with each meal. We choose the fried oysters to start, with one of the several salads, and choose two of the specials soft shell crabs and wolf fish as our main entrees. The food was excellent and arrived at just the right time. The overall experience was outstanding and the friendly atmosphere added to the ambiance. Would definatey return very soon!!"

"Bazin's on Church is just a block off Maple Avenue in Vienna and has an appealing open concept dining room. The lobster ravioli appetizer was fabulous. Entrees included the flat iron steak and duck breast, both of which were cooked to a perfect medium rare. The warm apple tart shared as a dessert was yummy. The 2005 Gigondas on the wine list was a wonderful find at $65. Can't wait for our next dinner at Bazin's!!"

"I have attended wine dinners at Bazin's before and have always been impressed. My dining experience for this "non-event" evening was excellent. I had the Wolf fish, which was light and not "fishy" at all. My dining partner had the filet, which was cooked to a perfect medium rare as ordered. The chocolate tort was very good. Our only disappointment was the Coffee and donuts bread pudding. It was mushy. The wine list at Bazin's is impressive, albeit a bit pricy. We were not rushed and our waiter was outstanding. Next time I will stick with the waiter's recommendations, especially for dessert!"

"Typically the service is fantastic but I only gave a good this time and am thinking our server must of been new or having a bad night. We had to ask about the specials, request more water and when there was "something that we could not identify" in the bottom of my wine glass which I drank out of he simply picked it up and said, "Sorry". We will 100% go back because the food is awesome."

"We were surprised there were reservations available on the same day, that is not always the case. Knowing this we also found it surprising that there was not much parking available. The restaurant was probably 60% full. The staff was attentive but a little hard to understand with whatever accent he had. The food and wine was great. Nice portion and great presentation."

"We used to love this place as our weekly date spot, but were disappointed last time we went (May 4, 2013). It seems way more snobby now and had a pretentious vibe to it. We went to an early dinner and brought an 8 month old baby, and were stunned to learn they did not have high chairs. It seems like a way to try and keep children out of the restaurant, which seems very unfair. We could tell the waiter was annoyed that we had a child with us, even though she was very well behaved, did not make a mess, and we ordered over $200 worth of food and drink so our money was perfectly as good as everyone else's there. Disappointed."

"I have worked in Tyson's Corner for 10 years and am so very tired of the chain restaurants! Lunch always becomes a race. Bazin's was a wonderful change to the typical hurried pace in TC. The parking was easy, the overall feeling was relaxed, and the food was EXCELLENT! Our salads sound were excellent! The "foodies" in us were impressed with the homemade dressings and small touches (i.e. fresh garbanzo beans) that really set our salads apart from the "usual". Save room for dessert because the Salted Caramel Tart was DIVINE! It is sweet enough that you may want to share, but scrumptious enough that you may change your mind! The service was also attentive and professional. Our lunch was both pleasant and delicious - we'll be back!"

"Bazin's is rapidly becoming one of our favorite restaurants -- the food gets better and better and we come away singing its praises. I had the special Veal Milanese and it was perfection, and my husband had the rockfish special which was also delicious. For the first time ever, I did not order the salted caramel tart for dessert opting instead for something "spring-like" and had the lime tart which was excellent as well. We will be back in a few weeks for my daughter's birthday -- Can't wait."

"We get to Bazin's a couple times a year, and it's still one of our favorites. I love the crispy oysters on creamed spinach. The duck confit/lentil appetizer is practically a meal. I'll definitely get it again. Husband had risotto with pork ragout and loved it, but wanted a little more ragout. I tasted and thought the risotto needed more flavor. Mother-in-law LOVED the filet and especially the potato cake. Great wine list, reasonable prices. Loved the Hedges Red Mountain 2010 (cab blend) from Washington State, more elegant than a big fruit bomb. Best part of the meal was the Krispy Kreme Bread Pudding. We were skeptical, but it's AWESOME. Thankfully, not a huge portion. So, no sugar coma. Very happy we live close to Bazin's."

"We always love Bazin's: the food is inspired, portions are reasonable, menu always changing with daily specials. Best restaurant in Vienna. Wish there were others like it. "The only complaint is that the wine list is deceiving. Very few choices for those seeking wine by the glass. If you were interested in purchasing bottles of wine, the choices are extensive.
Would suggest that they change up the options for wines by the glass - everytime I'm in there, the selection of wines by the glass (often the less desirable ones) are the only ones available.
They should change up the wine list as they change up the menus (seasonally)."

"We had a 6:00 reservation, but by the time we were nearing the end of our meal, we could barely have a conversation - noise level is atrocious. The service - well, I had to go to the host stand after waiting 10 minutes for someone to come take my drink order (dining room was still half empty). New utensils were not brought to replace what they took when apps were cleared, and when I requested them to the person who dropped off our entrees, I ended up having to go to the host stand again to get utensils since they never showed up and our food was getting cold. Food was okay - scallop entree was very tasty but overall, everything else was not up to the level of the price point. I've been a few times but this is most likely my last."

"We were 5 ladies, excellent waiter, a rarity in these days. The food that we selected cooked exceptionally well and had a great presentation. The low was the special $35 menu...not at all at the level of the restaurant. The scheme appears to be to attract diners then offer them a lousy selection. A real disappointment, but the food we ordered was great. I've been there before and the restaurant has kept its high standards and most definitely would go there again."

"Excellent choice for a nice, relaxed dining experience. Menu is narrow but nicely balanced and ambience is casual but a distinct cut above the shopping mall restaurant experience. A nice choice for entertaining visitors or midtier business guests."

"Love the warm, dark and lively atmosphere of this "neighborhood" restaurant. I find myself going back for the potato and lobster ravioli and the Chilean Sea Bass. They offer a very nice selection of wines at affordable prices. It's a favorite location to meet girl friends for lunch, dinners with friends and dinners alone with my husband. Make sure to leave room for the delicious apple crisp dessert or the key lime pie."

"I've had a couple of decent dishes here but Saturday's meal was disappointing for both me and my date, who I failed to impress. The service and staff were great, but everything, from the bread, starters and flounder, were just okay. No 'pop' of flavor, just basic blah.
I think Bazin's continues to thrive as they're one of the only upscale eateries we Fairfax and Vienna folks don't need to drive into Arlington, Tysons or DC for."

"We enjoyed our first-time experience at Bazins. Entrees were well received except one of our diners picked the porto-bello mushroom salad entree and found it to be unremarkable and lacking flavor. In seeing it, it looked overcooked and not a terribly attractive presentation."

"Presentation of all dishes was wonderful. However, servers could not keep our orders straight and one appetizer did not arrive until a replacement had already been delivered - and this was a salad- which should not have required a longer time to prepare. The ingredients were all fresh and the food was tasty, with (as mentioned above) lovely presentation. My dish supposedly contained green beans, but there was no trace of them. When I asked the waiter, he said they were blended into the sauce - if they were blended, they were completely lost. I therefore felt deprived of a balanced meal.
The restaurant was very crowded, we practically had to climb over people to get to our table. Perhaps that's the norm for the area."

"Lovely meal - fine wine list though a little pricey. Our meals were excellent from start to finish. The chopped salad combined a perfect mix of flavors. The gnocchi was just the right size and texture with a delicious tomato meat sauce. The pork tenderloin chop was delicious as well. Topped off with scrumptious Krispy Kreme bread pudding with espresso cream!"
