'Local...Fresh...Authentic. Those three adjectives aptly describe Pasta E Pomodoro, which boasts the North End's finest Italian food. All we can say is, "Believe it!" This eatery is awesome, and it's got the lunch, dinner and takeout traffic to prove it. Crazy about veal and chicken cooked with classic Italian bravado? You'll be rendered speechless by Pomodoro's Veal a la Toscana, Chicken Cacciatore, and Veal or Chicken Parmigiana. Is fresh seafood your fave? If so, this eatery's Seafood Alfredo, Shrimp Fra Diavolo and Baked Stuffed Haddock will make Pomodoro your new favorite haunt. And if you've a passion for pasta, the chef prepares Penne con Pollo, Lasagna di Giorno and the house specialty - Pasta Pomodoro - with such artistry, you may never again want to eat pasta anywhere else.' - idine.com
"Reservations are somewhat meaningless here. Food is well portioned and price reasonable. Service attentive (once seated). Good and reasonable wine selection. Crowded and intimate in a way that only works in North End."

"It was a little busy and wait staff was not as attentive as they usually. Still, a very nice dining experience with great food at a reasonable price."

"Had a voucher for this place. The things we had were mediocre. Bar service was limited. I wish I had let this voucher expire and save the cost of tip & wine."

"The calamari appetizer was delicious, nice and spicy, except it had a very long h.air cooked right into it. I noticed the chef has long h.air..... But, the real killer was my wifes' pasta with seafood had zero spicing, and the mussels had a lot of grit in them.
So, it is a nice small North End restaurant with an open view on Salem St., but they need a chef who cares."

"Our meals were brought before my husband had finished his appetizer. Our server gave me my dinner and took my husband's back to the kitchen. Eventually, several minutes after my husband finished his appetizer, we managed to catch our waitress' attention and she brought his dinner. Food was underwhelming; chicken cacciatore a few pieces of chicken with very few vegetables on a large pile of pasta; pasta bolognese rather flavorless.
But it was the lacadaisical service that really turned us off to this restaurant. We won't go again."

"We were given a travelzoo voucher for this restaurant. The food was good, not great. We really enjoyed the crab cakes appetizer but thought our meals were lacking flavor. My husband got the Pasta Salmone and said it was very bland. I got the Shrimp Fradiavolo and thought it was good but I make a much better one and I'm not a chef. The service was a bit lacking. We sat for a while waiting for our waitress to take our orders. I could see her playing with her iphone while we waited. Our voucher included a dessert. The only dessert they were offering was cannolis. I love cannolis, so I wasn't terribly upset, and the cannoli was good. But, it would have been nice to have other options. The atmosphere and menu prices didn't match."

"We made a reservation but weren't seated until an hour after the reservation time. We had to remind the waitress to bring us drinks, received maybe (maybe) one refill on water (only non-alcoholic drink we were offered), never received an item we ordered (thankfully weren't charged either), and had to flag down the waitress down to get our check. This is a small place with very few tables with two waitresses (one of which was competent the other which was not - we had the later and not the former). Also, the food was so-so...nothing to brag about and only slightly better than a chain Italian place but about twice the price. I can say more but my space is limited.
We'll go elsewhere next time we're in the North End of Boston."

"Even with a reservation, took about 20 minutes to be seated on a Saturday night and about 10 more to get menus, 10 more to get water and 10 more to get bread. Granted they were busy, they seemed understaffed and our waitress expressed that to us. So about an hour after arriving, we received our food. Delicious but questionably worth the wait. My fiancé said it would be a good date spot for a new couple since you sit for so long you would really have the chance to get to know each other. Probably fine on a weeknight, wouldn't go back on a weekend."

"It is not often that I get impatient at restaurants, I usually am quite happy to sit and talk with my friends for a long time. But it is much easier to enjoy oneself for a long time at a restaurant when you don't feel like you have been forgotten about. For some reason, the group I was with (five people) was taken care of by the bartender rather than the waitress who was taking care of the other tables. The table of two next to us sat down after us, had an appetizer, dinner, paid and left before we got our meals. When we were done eating (we had been there for 2 hours), the bartender was deep in conversation with the group of people at the bar and took 20 minutes to bring us our check. He never offered drink refills the whole time."

"In town for a concert at the Garden and wanted to avoid the Canal St. craziness. Made a quick reservation, though likely wasn't needed with a fairly open restaurant. We were seated right away and offered menus. We placed our order for cocktails, an appetizer, soup and entree. Unfortunately, we didn't receive our drinks until after the first course. The food was good - service not so much that night. Would consider going again - though they need to step up their game with so many good local restaurants in the area. Mushroom gnocchi was delicioius!"

"Our dinner was excellent and our server could not be more attentive. We had mussels and calamari as appetizers. The calamari was tender and the mussels had great flavor. My wife had the salmon with pasta and it was excellent. My daughter had gnocchi for the first time and was full after only eating half of her portion. My lobster diavolo was spicey just like I wanted it to be. Our cannoli for desert was very tasty as well. Our only disappointment was that there was no tiramisu that night but that means we will have to come back next time and have it."

"Dined here, party of 6, on a Friday night. Classic one-room homey Italian dining room. Some of us had the evening's seafood specials, which were fine, but unremarkable and overpriced for a small neighborhood spot like this. Good but small choice of wines by the bottle, modestly priced. The service was friendly and helpful, but our waiter, who was clearly knowledgeable and experienced, couldn't keep up. He neglected to bring drinks or bread first thing, forgot some of the cocktails, brought appetizers late, along with entrees. Would probably be more enjoyable to dine there on a weeknight."

"Nice time and good food. The waitress made great recommendations. The gnocchis were terrific. The special lobster era diavlo was very good. Enjoyable meal in the North End. We sat at the window table and it was a little cool on a very cold windy day, but not bad. I am sure they would have moved us if we requested. Must be great in the warm weather as that becomes outdoor dining."

"Purchased vouchers on travel zoo for us and another couple. They would only let us use 1 voucher per table? That really makes no sense. ALso the voucher wasn't really a deal..I think we save about $5 off the regular prices. We did send a meal back because it was wrong and they would not remake the meal, they wanted to just replate it which would have meant picking the seafood out of the pasta to change it! It was my boyfriends valentine's gift and he didn't eat..I was Less than happy! They also charged $12 for a martini that I didn't have. It was vodka and sprite...waiter did nothing to accomdate us..was really quite rude! In the restaurant business you always try and make the customer happy. We are only going back to use the voucher."
