"Le Bouchon continues to serve up outstanding food. This was the seventh or eight time I have dinned there over the past few years and they continue to produce first rate French fare at very reasonable prices. The food is not pretentious but hearty excellent French food that you would get in a small neighborhood French restaurant in the heart of Paris or in a small town in the country side. The menu has not changed in a long time but does not need to as the 5 or 6 nightly specials are always a pleasant surprise. I would highly recommend this restaurant."

"We have been going to Le Bouchon for years and keep going back. It is a small bistro reminiscent of the small bistros you find everywhere in Paris. While the food is not new or trendy it is delicious. We always go away satisfied. We'll be back. We try out many restaurants in Portland and this one always stays on our list. A favorite for an intimate gathering."

"This was a night out with a group of ten. Have been here numerous timed and have never had anything short of outstanding service and food. Everyone one in our group loved their entrees. This is a casual french country dining experience thst is not to be missed."

"I think I first ate at Le Bouchon in the 1990s. Unlike many restaurants, it has maintained its standards over the year and still delivers solid French bistro fare. The salmon fume and salad romaine au citrus were both quite good starters and easy to share. Our mains of steak and salmon were also good. It was a very busy night and this was the only place I could get last minute reservations but it was a good reminder that Le Bouchon needs to be back on my go to list."

"Have been there twice in the past few weeks and will probably become regulars. Extensive selection of French appetizers and entrees from the standard menu and a daily chalkboard of specials provide endless variety. Can recommend the escargot, lobster bisque, onion soup, mushroom soup, mussels, bouillabaisse, beef tenders, sweetbreads, and more. French wine list has reasonable prices for the Pearl. Food prices are also reasonable. Intimate atmosphere. Casual. Service is sincere and helpful, though one should be patient on busy nights."

"After swilling wine all day in Carlton we settled into our hotel in Portland and hoofed it to the restaurant. We were hesitant to order more wine after drinking red wine all day long so our waiter brought every white wine on the menu so we could taste one that would not put additional stress on our stomachs. Very Cool! We eat out regularly, but this was our first time here and I was the only one of us that had ordered in a French restaurant so we both had a ton of questions that were handled patiently. I ordered the sauteed Chicken Breast and she ordered the shrimp in the most wonderful fish sauce ever! We had great conversation with the staff and tables around us, it was a wonderful atomosphere facilitated by great food and staff!"

"Very traditional French and very very good. The best escargot I have had in years, understated, excellent. Wonderful salads. The fish and chicken dishes we had were flavorful and very well prepared and presented. We enjoyed this restaurant and can recommend it without reservation."

"A cozy space evocative of neighborhood restaurants we've experienced in Paris, with truly outstanding, deliciously authentic French food. The lobster bisque is perfect, with a deep, richly developed flavor that can only come from love, time and masterful technique - a real treat. If the cassoulet or lamb shank is on the specials menu, they are not to be missed! (I keep dreaming of that cassoulet, and only wish I'd gotten an extra serving to take home for later!)"

"Incredibly rich, flavorful, and yet completely digestible food! A menu so delicious and varied it was difficult to choose, and yet no choice is the wrong one. The night we went there was quite the international scene, and the evening ended with conversation in French with the table next to ours. The waiter was personable, knowledgeable, relaxed, and attentive. A thoroughly enjoyable evening!"

"My husband and I had another wonderful meal here. Our server Kalle (sp?) was wonderful, very accommodating and recommended some great wine for our meal. I highly recommend the Feuilletage l'Oree du Bois (mushroom and brie baked in pastry). Actually, this could be eaten as a dessert rather than an appetizer.
This has become a favorite spot for me and we plan to return as often as possible."
