A unique and relaxing dining experience located in the beautiful Sayville Village, highlighting Long Island and fine italian foods and wine. Rooted in traditional family recipes, we explore trends to create an enjoyable experience. La Tavola's staff and chef's will treat you to an "excellent" meal, as rated by Zagat!
"Being from Manhattan, I usually expect restaurants in suburbia to be less expensive than those in the city. But this place was astronomical! The menu was not consistent, as some of our dishes came out with items that were clearly not mentioned in writing. For example, the shrimp scampi came with a heaping mound of pasta (and only 4 pieces of shrimp), but pasta was not mentioned in the menu at all. For $40+, there should be at least double the amount of shrimp. The hostess gladly switched out our dish which was much appreciated.
The lamb was a little gamey and not overly enjoyable, and the pork loin was a fried pork chop. Overall, I think the menu needs clarification and the chef could use done continuing education."

"The food on the Mother's Day menu was fantastic! I've never had such amazing fired calamari in my life! It was light and crispy and NOT pile of greasy batter. Our steaks were perfectly cooked and so were out lobster tails. The wait staff was attentive and checked up on us, and not annoying. Our wine and water glasses were never empty which is a huge plus. I would definitely eat here again."

"I loved the simple relaxing atsmopher. I would return again. I went with the restaurant week menu and the choices were few but covered all... meat, vegetable, chicken, pasta. I also had the split pea soup which was creaming and light. very goood. the staff was very friendly."

"The service was excellent; Our waitress Kaitly was excellent, she was very friendly and knowledgeable. The food was ok, service sizes were small for a high price. I was very excited to go to the restaurant after looking at the menu online but was disappointed when I got the food. The crab tots were delicious but very small portion for the price they charged. I got the brownie for dessert and it was not very good. The drinks are well made and once again service was outstanding."

"Went for a girls dinner with some friends. Food was amazing, service was excellent as I used to be a waitress I am picky when it comes to service but our server was fantastic. Bar fully stocked with all the regular favorites and more. Was surprised they had my favorite after dinner drink chocolate Godiva liqueur. They didn't rush us as we were the last table there which I hate doing but we were having such a great time we didn't wanna leave! We will be back soon !"

"It was Pasta and Pinot night where you get a choice of soup or salad and a pasta dish for a fixed price and Pinot Grigio or Pinot Noir for $5 per glass. While the pasta dishes were excellent, before I give them 5 stars for the food I need to try other dishes."

"Love this place, prefer to sit in the bigger room...just a bit more atmosphere, but probably a little more noisy. Didn't get into the bar even though we were 10 minutes early for our reservation, but it seemed hopping! Food portions are a bit small for some selections."

"We had a reservation for 8 for 2 on a Saturday, didn't get seated until 8:40 and the bar was too packed to get s drink. Also not a fan of menu placemats. Other than that the place was great. Food was outstanding, staff was pleasant."

"Food was excellent, great menu and selection. The homemade donut for dessert was to DIE for. A MUST try. Great martini menu, nice wine list. The only complaint I have would be the noise level. The restaurant was crowded as it was a Saturday night and it was EXTREMELY loud. It was often difficult to have a conversation with my husband- we almost had to shout at each other across a small table. Other than that though, I absolutley loved this place and will be back for sure!"

"We were there on Valentines Day so that may account for the noise level. They were very busy and a little overcrowded. However the food was good, the service as well. Nice place."

"We went for a Valentine's Day dinner. The atmosphere was nice. In cold weather dining is inside. During warmer weather there is an outside porch as well as a garden dining area which is beautiful. Service was excellent and we did not feel rushed. The menu was exciting. I had the oyster appetizer and it was amazing. For dinner I had surf and turf. It was cooked perfectly. The deserts were delicious and innovative. We had a homemade chocolate donut with marscapone gelato. Both taste and presentation were amazing. If you want an adventuresome meal this is the place to go."

"Went to La Tavola for Valentine's Day dinner. Have always wanted to try it and glad we finally did. Asked for (through opentable.com) and was seated in a nice low-traffic rounded booth-very comfy. Service (Kaitlyn) was attentive and knowledgable. The menu had a great variety of things from pizzas, to pasta dishes, to hearty chix/beef/pork dishes. My wife asked for something not on the menu and they were quite able to comply. Food looked and tasted amazing. Noise was loud/energetic (live music was in the bar); not a quiet/cozy sort of place, at least for dinner. Looks like they have a nice outdoor deck, so can't wait to try it out in the summer. We'll definitely be back!"
