"Looking for that perfect little Parisian bistro? It's in Bloomfield's "Broad Street" arrondisment. Mes Reves offers classic French cooking: steak frites, escargots, etc. A relatively simple menu and uncluttered preparations, but everything is perfectly executed."

"We've been to Mes Reves numerous times, and are always so pleased with the food, ambiance and service. The food is so delicious that you want to eat very slowly to savor every bite! It is our favorite place to dine. The people that we've taken to the restaurant, or referred to it, have been repeat visitors for the same reason. This is a true foodie's paradise."

"Our anniversary celebration was a delight highlighted by tastings of several of Quang's upcoming menu treats - we won't reveal them here but they warrant deep consideration when available later this spring. MR is an easy decision for us - easier than travelling into the city for French bistro fare but just as satisfying."

"Dining at Mes Reves has become a weekly event for my boyfriend and me, after we moved to Bloomfield late in 2012. The food is delicious, and the many specials keep us coming back for more! Although we originally planned to try everything on the menu before going back for repeats, we already broke that rule for the incredibly tasty lamb, as well as the beef bourguignon, which has been offered as a special several times. The desserts are also wonderful."

"Except as a somewhat novel neighborhood restaurant, neither here nor there. Almost seemed German/French fusion. Menu contained French food, but preparation seemed to come from elsewhere - not a bad thing, but flavors were bland, unexpected, and there was a distinct after taste to the duck. We appreciated very fine service for a holiday occasion - nicely done!"

"We visited Mes Reves for their Valentine's Day menu (had been there once before). They were very busy and a little off of their game. There was definitely an issue with the dessert (chocolate and raspberry souffle), which took much too long to come out. The salad was not nearly as refined as the rest of the meal. But I had foie gras for an appetizer, and venison for a main course, and both were delicious. The last time we were there, the food was perfect. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a romantic dinner."

"I have been to many French restaurants in such hot spots as NYC and Paris, and never thought a local NJ place would measure up. Very happy to say I was wrong. This is the cheapest way to get to Paris without taking a plane. The food is not super-inventive; it is classic French bistro fare for the most part--but incredibly wonderful. The mushroom tart is to die for and so is the souffle. Fish and steak frites main dishes are excellent, as are the fresh veggie sides."

"I've been here many times and it is always an enjoyable experience, but this time was truly exceptional. Started with a cesar salad topped with fried calamari. Awesome. The calamari was incredibly crisp, but not over done at all. I also ordered as an entree the nicoise salad topped with seared tuna. I know, 2 salads, but I was trying to keep things light. The tuna had a perfect sear on it while the interior was perfectly rare. Well done Chef! Staff friendly as usual. I love this place."

"We were recommended to this place by some friends who live right around the corner, so we were excited to go and check this place out. We had an 8pm reservation and were seated fairly quickly, with just a few tables open at this hour.
Service was slow from start to finish. Had to ask twice for a wine glass for the BYO.
Appetizers: Mussels were pretty good. My husband's salad was uneatble, with too much salt on it right out of the kitchen.
Entrees: We both had steak frites. They were good sized steaks and cooked to my liking, but not memorable in taste.
Dessert: We shared a chocolate souffle. It was ok.
