"Two of our meals did not come out with the other food. However the restaurant gave us a 25% discount which I think was great compensation. The food was very good. They need to work on getting all the drinks and food out in a timely manner. Big graduation day in Greensboro and they should have had their most expierenced servers."

"We have always found such a pleasure to dine at Village Tavern. The food is always good, no matter what you order. The service is outstanding. Whether you call ahead or make a reservation, they are accommodating to make you feel important. I was surprised that through Open Table my wife and I had a 6:45 p.m. reservation on Mother's Day and they honored it. We had an great experience for the occasion."

"We had a 10:15 reservation for brunch on Mother's Day. Brunch on Easter went great here, but Mother's Day was another matter. We did not get our food until after 11:00. I don't know whether that was because it took our waitress a long time to take our order, or because the kitchen was so backed up. When we first sat down, the waitress told us that there was no clean silverware at that time. Since it was only 10:15, this seemed a little odd. I believe the restaurant opened earlier than usual because of the holiday, but I think they should have had their staff come even earlier, as they seemed to be behind the eight ball."

"I've eaten at Village Tavern many times over the years and while it's normally a great place to go... this particular time was wrought with issues. We had to wait over an hour for our food (myself, husband, and 4 children), and when the food arrived it was cold. If this had been my only experience with Village Tavern - I'd never set foot in the place again. Even after 5 of our food choices arrived, my 6 year old daughter's mac-n-cheese took an additional 30 minutes to arrive. The whole thing was a disaster. I was VERY dissappointed that my mother's day ended this way."

"Usually, the experience at the Village Tavern is excellent, from entrance to exit. This trip was a unique experience. We felt like we were in a different place. When we arrived for our reservation we were told that we would have to wait as much as 25 minutes because they were behind. As we were waiting I overheard the manager asking people to consider alternative restaurants as they were running out of food. Our wait was about 30 minutes. After we were seated our dri nks and appetizer came quickly. Our meal took over an hour to arrive. All of the entrees were luke warm. My pasta was burned and in clumps. My boyfriends steak was inedible. I felt that the experience ruined our celebration of Mother's Day."

"My family met for dinner to celebrate Mother's Day after making a reservation for 7. When we arrived for our 5:45 reservation we were informed that seating reservations were running behind. 40 minutes later we were seated. Our appetizers were late coming to the table and, after placing our order, our server came back to us twice to say that 3 of the items we ordered - clam chowder, crabcakes and trout were sold out. The entrees arrived over an hour after we ordered and after the manager initially apologized and explained the delay - busiest day of the year, running out of food, etc. My brother and his wife had to leave for an appointment before the entrees arrived. The entrees were either cold or overdone from being under heat lamps."

"I had made reservations for 6:30pm we showed up 10 minutes early and were not seated until 7pm. As I listened to people walk up to put their name on the list for a table they were told the average wait time was between 40 minutes to an hour. I guess there was no reason for us to make a reservation at the Village Tavern as we still had to wait to be seated and cancelled our later plans due to dinner taking an extra hour. The food was ok, it may have been better if I wasn't frustrated with the wait after having a reservation for a seat."

"We dine at VT about once per month and enjoy the atmosphere and the variety of menu options. We had made reservations for 1:15 on what we knew would be a busy Easter Sunday. We arrived and checked in at 1:15 and were told by the hostess that they were running behind with seating and to expect a wait of 15-20 minutes; fair enough. We decided to wait since it was pleasant outside and there was a comfortable place to wait. This turned into a 40 minute wait-we weren't seated until 1:55 and the table had not been set. We had to ask for our napkins and silverware when our food was delivered. The food was delicious and our waiter, Anthony, was excellent. Our beverages were kept filled and we enjoyed our meals."

"The food is always great here and on Wednesdays they have half price wine. On the down side the place is so loud you can't hear yourself talk much less hear your waiter!! The flow of the restaurant isn't set up for an intimate setting. Also had to wait 30 minutes even with a reservation. If you can go to the one in Winston Salem they have it all great food, intimate setting, great flow, and all that allows for a nice evening. So needless to say I won't my reservations here again... I will stick with the Winston Salem location."

"The food and service was what we expected. The seating location was very poor. The large party, which came in early early should have been place on the right side and the other patrons seated on the left side. We were not the only table that was bothered by the noise of the approximately 20 people celebrating a birthday."

"We had not been to VT in a number of years, and I was a little concerned when asked by friends to go on Sunday night. However, the food was great (lots of choices for St. Patty's Day) and the atmosphere was lively and fun. A bagpipe player made the rounds in the restaurant every thirty minutes or so. There was corned beef and cabbage, bangars and mash, green coctails, and scrumptious desserts. All in all, it was excellent! Way to go, VT. We will return!"

"Good food and service once we got seated. It appeared that having a reservation, however, gave us no priority over those who walked in at the same time. We all had to wait 10 minutes to be seated. I checked "Kid-Friendly", but readers should understand that having screaming and crying children at the next table was not a positive part of our experience. Too bad the small children could not be in a separate part of the restaurant."
