Insignia is the newest fine dining restaurant from Anthony Scotto - proprietor of Blackstone & Rare650 Steakhouses.
Like its predecessors, Insignia's inspired menu will feature the finest prime dry-aged steaks and the freshest Sushi & Seafood, including Mediterranean whole fish, served up in a chic, elegant atmosphere that is also a feast for the eyes. Picture a historic North shore mansion with cedar shakes, quarried stone and a beautiful turret combined with the energy and vibe of a trendy Manhattan restaurant. "Another home run for the Scotto brothers- Like its sisters Rare 650 and Blackstone Insignia checks all the boxes one could have on a checklist and then some. The only thing that would have made it perfect is a water view.
The service staff Rob and Tom were outstanding. The wine list- well they give it to you on an ipad-enough said. Save room for desert and do not skip the fresh doughnuts- so good wished they were open for breakfast.
This place is normally packed especially on weekends but well worth your time and effort to go experience this place. There are not many places on Long Island and even Manhattan that beat Insignia."

"My husband and I went to Insignia for our Anniversary. It was beautiful, the service was awesome and the food was fantastic. Of course it was a bit expensive but we knew before going in and it was for a very special occasion. Definitely would return."

"NY Strip was not good and certainly not worth the cost. Marinated steaks were much better and very tasty. I don't mind paying a lot for a quality steak sometimes and eat at Mortons, Paces and Blackstones (sister to this place), but this was poor. Waiters were very good and attentive, atmosphere was excellent, but won't go back."

"We went there for Mother's Day. with in 1/2 of us seating down my kids had already broke a plate and a glass of soda on the ground the staff came into action and cleaned up mess right away and was more worried about kids rather than the mess. Our food was amazing and place was very kid friendly with options for food for them. I was there when it first opened up and didn't care for the food, but decided to give it another shot since it is a SCOTTO place. I really enjoyed my time there and would come back. We sat outside near the lounges inside is amazing a need to check out."

"We were sat outside, as I requested. The weather has just begun to turn, and it was lovely. Great atmosphere, and yet another delicious meal from Insignia. Everything from sushi to dessert was excellent. The attentive bartenders and wait staff do a superb job of making you feel comfortable and welcome. We were even greeted by one of the owners at our table, which added a nice, personal touch to our evening. Highly recommended."

"I've been to a plethora of steak houses and my wife and I (total foodies) enjoy tasting new and exciting restaurants and dishes. We tried Blackstone before trying their counterpart Insignia and both are fantastic. The food and atmosphere are both wonderful and the food leaves you wishing every meal could be that way. Just an FYI, only vallet parking on weekends (not a big to deal to most people except me I guess)."

"Insignia is a great spot for steaks and sushi. Steaks are prepared very well and the staff is very attentive. There was a private party going on in the private room with very loud music and children opening and closing the doors but the management staff was quick to see our discomfort and move us to the other side of the restaurant. Wine and meal was fantastic."

"First time dining there. We have gone to their sister restaurant Blackstones many times. The food, from the apps to the incredible desserts (those doughnuts and cake in a cage, OMG!!!), was outstanding. My rib steak, while a little bit smaller than what I've had at Blackstones (which was actually fine with me), was the most tender one I've had in a long time. It cut like butter. Sides were outstanding, too (hash browns, creamed spinach, mac n cheese). Service was great (very warm, friendly and competent). Manager came over to ask how things were and was also very warm and welcoming. It was loud but not too bad. The I-Pad thing for the drinks was a bit silly - just give me a menu, please. We'll definitely be back!"

"I heard how expensive it is but decided to try it out for myself for my boyfriend's birthday. I made a reservation and wrote "birthday" in the comments section. Insignia did not disappoint. The service was top-notch, and the food was to match! The staff was friendly and helpful and made the perfect suggestions. For the price we paid we got a great amount of food, so much that we didn't even realize how much soup would come in a $14 bowl- so we ordered 2 of them only to take home an entire quart! the portions are very generous. At the end, our server surprised us with an entire platter of FULL portions of cheesecake, mousse cake, 2 fresh-baked donuts with a sparkler as a candle. I couldn't be happier, she truly made his birthday special."

"Right from the start when you enter the Grand Doors the Hospitality is outstanding. The staff are wonderful, Friendly, Jovial,and Knowedgable. "We have been to Insignia many times and we have had colleen as our waitress... This time we had Rob and Joey I must say the service was horrible . Rob and Joey were nice but not on the ball at all. We waited 45 min for our appetizers. We had to as numerous times for bread and water. Not what you would expect from a place like insignia. If this was our first time there ...... It would have been our last!"

"The service here was top notch. Someone always on hand whenever you needed help, but never intrusive. Had the sommalier stop by and discuss the wine selections, and his recommendation was excellent. Portions were generous. To full to eat dessert, but we ordered something to take home anyway. Ate it the next day and it was outstanding. It is a bit pricey, more like a special occasion place then a regular dining spot. Hardley any wait for the valet parked car when the meal was done."

"We dined here on Wednesday night for our Anniversary. Had a drink at the bar first and the bartender was very professional and drinks were spectacular. Then the good experience ended. The gentlemen at the front desk decided to sit us right back in the bar at a booth. I would have preferred to sit in the dining room but thats fine. Apps were great, my petite filet was very dry. Server forgot my enhancements for my steak. What kind of left a bad taste in mouth about this restaurant was that I overheard another server in the dining room reading the specials to his table. Not sure why WE didnt deserve to know about the specials. But then that explains why they must have sat us in the bar. Apparently, our money isnt as green as other patrons."

"The great vibe is back at Insignia! Add this to your 'must' stops on the Long Island Steakhouse trails......but don't ignore the fish here either....plus a sushi bar that rivals the best around! Truly professional and well trained wait-staff...plus the wine list is a fantastic compilation.... Sea Smoke Southing Pinot Noir !!!!! Need I say anything else! Coming to a restaurant like INSIGNIA is what makes going out to dinner a memorable and much looked forward to event...."

"they exceeded my expectations. they not only filled my request for champagne to celebrate my 50th wedding anniversay they also gave us a 30.00 desert sampler with sparkles. More food then we could eat, sides was our mistake, they encourage to and serve enough to share, we each ordered two, plenty of left overs due to size of sodes."

"Our reservation was for 830 pm for a party of sixteen. We didn't get seated until 915. Bartenders were rude & didn't even acknowledge us. Food was fair at best. We will never return to this restaurant ever."

"Had to pour our own wine. That shouldn't happen in a restaurant that wants to be considered the best. Not only that but with two servers no one came over to see if everyting was alright partly through are meal. We actually had to hunt a server down to ask for assistance. That said, the surf and turk was amazing. Each of the sides were also fantastic. The food was so good that we will give it another try just to see if the poor service was out of the ordinary."
