At Odeum Restaurant, Chef Calisi combines Roman and Greek cuisine with Spanish influences, and includes his creative and fun flair to traditional dishes. The Chef spares no expense with the best octopus imported from Spain and the salmon imported from Scotland, fresh local organic vegetables, and grass-fed beef from Australia and the Midwest, yet provides his customers with a reasonably priced menu, fit for every budget.
Chef Calisi has not only trained with the very best in his field at the finest restaurants in New York and Italy, but also has a Michelin star to tuck in his toque, which he received during his tenure as Executive Chef and Partner at Dio Deka in Los Gatos.
At Odeum, Chef Calisi gives each customer a Michelin Star experience, from his personal welcoming at the door, to his phenomenal culinary masterpieces, and exquisite plating and presentation.

"We went to Odeum for brunch and the food was delicious. I have been there for lunch and dinner and have always been pleased with the variety offered. We had a party of 7 so we were able to try each other's choices. The salmon benedict and the gyros were my favorites. It's nice to have a restaurant such as Odeum right in Morgan Hill where you can bring have a relaxing, but tasty meal."

"Seek this place out - the Spanish octopus and the quattro of fabulous dips alone are worth a trip to Morgan Hill. Vegetarians will delight in the tastefully presented beet salad with velvety feta cheese and the grilled vegetable laden gyros, stuffed with a garden of good things, including french fries! The eggplant dishes are divine, there's venison souvlaki, lamb in many incarnations and the every popular weiner schnitzel with cranberry relish. Go with friends to share everything! Chef Sal wants you to leave the table happy, with a smile on your face and a song in your heart. Save room for dessert - the mille-feuille is heavenly, with umpteen layers of phyllo dough, laced with bourbon vanilla cream and slathered with toasted almonds."

"We went for our 36th anniversary. The experience was delightful , the music was wonderful (although as we sat right in front of the musician it was a bit loud) All four of us completely enjoyed our choices and we plan to go back often. I travel the whole world and this is one of the finest places to enjoy an extraordinary meal!!"

"I was very impressed by the whole dining experience. The service was attentive and the food was excellent. The restaurant was busy on a Monday night tells me it is a restaurant worth dining at. I will definitely be back to try more dishes. The fish special of the night was one of the best dishes I have ever tasted and I have dined in multiple Michelin starred restaurants in the past. "Odeum was very accommodating when we asked them to move our party of 6 to a larger table (two tables put together), as the one we were at would have been too crowded w/ the # of dishes and wine we'd be ordering for our team dinner. We loved the guitarist playing right near our table, and the fact that it wasn't too loud. The food was excellent-- nice portions and presentation. The lamb shanks were recommended by the waiter and some locals-- they were cooked perfectly and were not overly gamey. Service was excellent."

"The staff, as always, was very friendly ... but the Service was a little slow. The restaurant seems to struggle a little to keep up when the restaurant is full. The food, when it arrived, was very tasty. The Mille Feuille dessert was the highlight ... We didn't think we would have room for it, bur it was devoured a couple minutes after it arrived. We ordered one to share among the four of us and its a good thing because it was large (and yummy)"

"WOW!! Our food and service were outstanding! I ordered a petrale sole special and also the potato leak soup - both were absolutely fabulous!! My husband ordered a caesar salad and cracked pepper crusted salmon. Delicious!! The salad was the best caesar he has ever had. He ordered a glass of wine, and it was SO good he wrote down the name so he can buy some! Make a reservation and treat yourself! We will be back for sure."

"Thank you very much for making my Mom’s birthday so special. I asked her what her favorite part of her day was and even though she had done so many special things for her birthday, she proudly said that our dinner at Odeum was the best! The food, like always, was superb & the atmosphere was perfect. However, the one thing that made our evening over the top was our waiter, Michael! He was, by far, the best waiter we have ever had! There are far too many positive attributes to list them all here, but it was very evident that Michael has so much enthusiasm and passion for the work he does at Odeum! Thank you for making my Mom’s birthday so wonderful and one that she won’t soon forget!"

"Odeum has very good setup and delivery. The food is good although everything was too salty. We had the Tatziki, salad and the pizza. Tatziki spread was excellent the bread that it came with had butter and lots of salt. The salad was great but the olives in the salad did not have the salt extracted, it was straight out of the jar which made them very salty. The pizza was a great portion, the gyro pizza was made just like a gyro, very nice touch."

"This was our first time at the Odeum and we will be back.
We started off with the Peppieries primi, which was very good. The spread was perfect for the two of us and the side of pita strips were awesome. For dinner, I had the dinner special, Pork Osso Bucco. The pork was cooked perfectly, however, I wished it was searched on a bed of mashed potatoes instead of braised cabbage/apples. My wife had the Salmone, which she loved. The menu was not what I was expecting. It had everything from pizzas, to steaks, to seafood, to pasta dishes. We were quite surprised.
I gave the Service 3 out of 5 stars due to the fact that it took over 30 minutes to get out dinner, which was almost unbearable. Our server, Leah, was very friendly and talkative."

"Food was good and reasonably priced. Although the chef is Michelin rated, the presentation of the food did not reflect that and was rather mediocre. The place is a bit cramped with not much room between tables. This makes it difficult to get in and out of the chairs. Overall a decent experience."

"We loved going to odeum, and that's why we decided to go for valentines day, but never again. the poor service and super crowed we won't go to odeum ever again. I am 6 months pregnant and they gave us a small table with no room to move and we requested another table the hostess said no. Too crowed, and it ruined the occasion."

"My family (Husband and two children, ages 8 and 10) have been here a few times before and were always amazed with the food. We look at this restaurant as our "Special Occasion" place.
We ate there last Saturday to treat ourselves after getting our taxes done. The service and ambiance was lovely, as usual. The food was in general very good, although it all seemed to have less zing to it. The problem came with my main course. I was very excited to try their salmon dish. I love salmon and was very curious to see how the chef would dazzle me this time. It had so many mustard seeds on it and a very heavy (greasy) mustard sause under it that it overwhelmed the salmon. I could only taste mustard and left 95% of my food on the plate."

"We live in the Morgan Hill area, so we enjoy Odeum. It is one of the best restaurants in Morgan Hill. I understand that the owner was previously associated with Evvia in Palo Alto and also with Dio Deka in Los Gatos. I was introduced to Odeum by the former CEO of VeriSign, Stratton Sclavos, whom I worked for. He spoke very highly about this restaurant and I agree with him. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys good mediterranean food."

"Valentine's Day dinner. Due to the demand, there were about 3X the tables added that led to movement, legroom, and conversation difficulties. The result was a cramped and noisy environment that was not appropriate for a romantic Valentine's Day dinner.
The music, which consisted of Oldies rock and roll, was much too loud and inappropriate (need to play romantic Oldies) for the evening. The loud music led to people needing to talk louder than usual to be heard.
The wait staff greatly improved the experience by their helpful suggestions, knowledge of the menu, and prompt service.
The special Valentine's Day Menu was excellent for its selections and taste.
Odeum requires another visit in a more "normal" situation."

"Busy night and staff was obviously told to rush guests in and out. The last thing you want when having a (somewhat) expensive meal is being rushed! It will be our last time at Odeum."

"Service was absolutely horrible! Brought out my order which was not the right order but continued to serve my husband on Valentine's Day. We are supposed to be dinning together! The tables were so close together I could have sat on the person's lap next to me. Our table blocked the exit door."

"Being NYC transplants, our palates have been spoiled by the variety and quality of restaurants readily available in that fine city. When we discovered Odeum, we were once again transported back to the familiar, delicious, dining establishments of NYC. And, as it turns out, Chef Sal is another NYC transplant!! Wow. This place is cozy, charming and tasty! We had the quatro tastings plate, the octopus, the poached tuna, a margherita pizza and.....drumroll....the ginormous porterhouse steak...so delish. We additionally enjoyed a fine bottle of Zin locally made in Santa Clara County. Plus, 'twas me birthday, and they topped our meal off with a portion of bread pudding. This meal fed 4 of us, 2 kids and 2 adults. We did have some leftover pizza."

Probably not the best day to use for review.
Very friendly staff, we did have some challenges getting there so of course we did not get the most romantic table. We were by the front door which they keep open all night because they had over booked and set tables outside. Very cold out there. I started with the tuna dish which after 1 bite I put to the side. next course was a greek salad which I enjoyed and the new york for the main course which was very good. Oh and it took 2 hours to get served the main course after the salad. They gave us a compliminary glass of wine for the wait. I think we would go back someday but certainly not on a holiday or any other night when we expect a large crowd. Music was great !!"

"This is one of the best restaurants in the South Bay! Sal is an amazing chef and the food did not disappoint. The presentation was beautiful and the flavors were fantastic! The scallops and filet were perfectly cooked and paired with delicious sides. The eggplant carbonara is my favorite! I highly recommend and can't wait to go back and try more!"
