The Union Kitchen (Bellaire)
The Union Kitchen features a unique menu served in a casual atmosphere. Our lunch menu focuses on sandwiches, wraps, entree salads and some of the best burgers in Houston. At dinner, steaks, chops, chicken dishes and seafood take center stage. We have a unique hand selected wine list that complements our cuisine perfectly. Brunch is served Saturday and Sunday from 10am till 2pm. Make it a perfect weekend with four different styles of eggs benedict, a lobster omelette, build your own bloody mary bar, and carafes of mimosas.

Breakfast/Brunch foods are fair...not as tasty as they could be....but large portions.
Have not been for dinner.

"During brunch, all items served were cold - luke warm, had scrambled eggs and pancakes, even the coffee they could not get right (don't order a latte!). Yes, we could have complained, but just wanted to leave the place rather sooner than later, had already waited way too long for our food. Service was good."

"We are regulars on Sunday morning at the Union Kitchen. While they were busier on Mother's Day, they had a special menu with new items, and were able to accomodate the last minute arrival of our son from Austin. We love the friendly service and great egg dishes."

"I like Union Kitchen. Sometimes the food is hit or miss. I usually for for Brunch. I like the bottomless mimosas. Not the best but for $9 its not bad. The manager is the reason I keep going back. He is attentive, friendly and always checks in on the tables. Try this place for brunch cause its a cool place to hang with friends and have a good time."

"The food was pretty good, the outside patio looked inviting and the music was nice, but this is not a date spot. Friday at 7pm every other table had a toddler at it and the noise level was robust. I have eaten here for lunch and loved it, I believe we should have stuck with just lunch."

"I had one of their specials - a grilled veal chop with mushroom Risotto. Delicious! Went with two women and this type of dish can definitely be split on a "Girls Night Out." They also offer a large selection of small plates. Patio is wonderful!!!!"

"This is a good concept restaurant that just had too many misfires in the execution of their dishes. Every dish was slightly off. The caprese salad had fresh ingredients but was heavy on the dressing on top rather than a simple olive oil and some balsamic. The mussels were the biggest miss. Drowning in a thick yellow curry this really did not work. The beef filet I ordered was overly rare even for someone like me who likes it on the rarer side. "I had ordered medium rare". Wine list is limited. Wish I could be more enthusiastic but they will need a stronger and more creative kitchen staff for this restaurant to be able to compete with the finer restaurants in town."

"I was told that this was a wonderful restaurant and it was average at best. Rubbery parmesan chicken, filet too salty, calimari ok, cheesecake ok. Not worth the money. Our waiter was strange and gave us poor service. Overall, a disappointment. I won't return."

"What used to be Nicks is now Union Kitchen without the protective vines to keep out street noise and sight of Bellaire traffic.
Nicks was nice Italian neighborhood friendly the new name hasn't changed much .. don't expect any culinary surprises and don't expect any bargains .. Best I can say is 'it is not bad'. I 'might' go back but it won't be in a rush

"Decided to try UK for a birthday dinner and couldn't have been more pleased. The staff was friendly and attentive. We asked for someone who was familiar with the wine list regarding some specifics to our meals and got exactly what we needed. The food quality was great and came out prepared properly. This was a busy Sat. night as well but the delivery of the food seemed to be timely. I would definitely go back and recommend it to others. In addition, it's located where there was plenty of available parking."

"There was a groupon for Union Kitchen, so my wife and I checked it out last Friday night. We took our 1 month old with us, and the staff accommodated our request to sit in the corner out of the way. The food was very good, and the wait staff work together as a team to make sure you're taken care of. For the $45 groupon, we had an appetizer (crab cakes), my wife had a fish entree, I had the diver scallops (which were delicious), and we shared the creme brulee dessert. The owner, Paul, personally came by to check on our table and he was nice enough to talk with us for a few minutes as well. We were impressed with Union Kitchen, and we're definitely adding it to our rotation."

"Great food but I was told they didn't have my reservation then later the waiter was horrible. He was sweet but awful. Forgot to bring things, dropped things, brought us food meant for another table, kept interrupting our conversations to flirt with my married friend. Think next time I'll just order my food to go."

"Made reservations for Valentine's Day. It was simply great. Seated right away, car to table, great, friendly and attentive service, and great food. The atmosphere was great, many couples out celebrating as well.
