"This was one of the worst dining experience I have ever has!!!1. The salad and soup were delivered before the appetizer2. Half way through the salad the diner was delivered3. I order Tempura with NY Steak and by the time we got around to eating it! It was "Stone Cold".We had so many plates on are table it looked like we were selling china at Macys and the only thing the did not serve after the dinner was dessert. Fortunely we did not order desert. If you are late for the theater this is the place to go but unfortunately there are no theaters in San Carlos. I would not recommend Shiki Bistro to my worst enemy!!!"

"We came here with a group of 17- they had a great group spot so we could all sit together and they had really fantastic service. The server was really helpful in helping us decide the best way to split the check as we ordered which helped avoid confusion later. Really prompt arrival of the food which was fresh and delicious. They have a wonderful happy hour."

"This place honored our request of having the large table in the back for our group birthday party of 11. The waiter was great and the food was delicious!"

"Started with a 7:15 reservation, which they did not honor due to seating walk ins prior to us. Finally got seated 25 mins after our reservation. We're given water. Didn't see our waitress for another 20+ minutes and unable to get anyone else's attention. They brought us a wrong order which took another 5-10 mins to get waitresses attention. Never checked on again and had to ask for bill. Beyond underwhelmed with the service and bad attitude of host. No longer will be going there."

"We often eat at Shiki Bistro. Our last visit found it to be as busy as it was when it first opened. The food is good, the service fast, especially for sushi. However the atmosphere was very loud with many small children making much of the noise. It may have been just coincidence that so many were there on the same Friday night, it made the experience less 'bistro-like' and more family restaurant, not that there is anything wrong with that."

"I was looking for a new sushi restaurant to try and Shiki Bistro was highly recommended. I've tried a few in the area and have been disappointed by the lack of freshness that the sushi was seved so close to lunch time. I was not disappointed a bit by Shiki Bistro. However, I was surprised by the variety of rolls offered and that the waiter was polite and eager to share his favorites with us. (I highly recommend the LION KING roll!)
One of the things I noticed right away once we were served was how fresh the sushi smelled and even better, how fresh it tasted! What a concept! :)
I can't wait to go back!"

"We come to Shiki Bistro regularly for the unusually creative and fresh sushi and the fun neighborhood atmosphere. Nice sake and cocktails. The special rolls are fun. Service is friendly and usually avoids hitches, although when busy they can get off kilter."

"beautiful restaurant with great lighting, pretty decor, comfy booths, flexible areas for group seating and fun-looking bar. the menu was sizeable and most everything was delicious for the 4 of us. we really liked the tuna with black sesame seeds tataki, salmon wrapped scallops small plates. the duck with sweet potatoe was intriguing but not so tasty. the rolls were really good, esp the 49-er roll.
service was efficient and timely. but for such a nice up-scale looking restaurant, i wished that our waiter had a little more personality to offer some suggestions since this was one of the first times we had been to this restaurant. that would have made it a more "wow" experience."
