"The mussels were the best I have ever eaten! WE also had the beet salad which was outstanding. My husband had the clams and linguini dish and I had the ravioli dish and both were soooooo good. We both highly recommend this gem of a restaurant!"

"My wife took me here for my birthday. Although the waitress had a poor attitude at the start (she claimed that she told us something was off the menu, which neither of us heard), she calmed down and was pleasant for the rest of the evening. The food was very good, each dish had an unusual and delicious touch - smoked onions in my side dish, for example. All in all, it was a lovely evening."

"Menu seemed a little "all over the map" for a restaurant that calls itself Mediterranen. Hummus was excellent. Friend liked the salmon. Cod was well cooked but the Swiss chard tough and citrus sauce unremarkable. Chicken was juicy and well done. I think it was a "very good" overall but not 4 stars. I would be lured back for a second try if it was 4-stars, but I would rate it 4.5 overall."

"When I arrived with my party, I was a little concerned when the host who showed us to our table was arrogant and rude. From that point on, everything was up! Our waitress provided service at a level I have only encountered at five star restaurants. The wine list was exciting and she knew exactly which ones to recommend for our varied tastes. We started with the farmer cheese dumplings, the perfect starter with a glass of wine. Everyone in my party chose a pasta dish and they were all adventuresome and delicious. For dessert, we shared the chocolate almond bread pudding, the perfect ending to the perfect meal. It was so wonderful that I'll be returning there later this week with my husband."

"When we asked our excellent concierge at the Clifton Inn to recommend restaurant where we could get a not-too-heavy dinner, he instantly suggested Orzo. The atmosphere is fun and funky, service casual but top notch. The owner stoppe by our table to chat. Our server knew the interesting wine list quite well. The portions are not huge, but not Novelle Cuisine sized, and that's what we wanted. We had the delicious chicken and a yummy dessert; panacotta, which was also interesting. The prices are not low, but a good value for what you get. The neighborhood is fun, too. Went back for lunch two days later. BTW, if you come at noon Saturday, you'll have the place to yourself."

"Well worth the trip when in the Charlottesville area. Rivals the best of the casual vibe with great meals segment anywhere in the US. Staff was knowledgeable about the details of all menu items and the wine pairings. Good variety of options for all courses with appetizer and small plate options displaying great planing. Mussels appetizer selected was outstanding and roast pork entre was not to be overlooked. All four of our party were equally pleased with their various selections. Will be back."

"Could not be more pleased with our experience at Orzo! I simply wrote on my open table reservation that it was my parents' 40th anniversary and they went above and beyond for them! They created a menu specifically for them that said "Happy Anniversary" across the top of it and gave us complementary half glasses of presseco! We were all overwhelmed with their generosity. Not to mention the food was to die for, service was excellent, everything was beyond words perfect! I wish I lived in the area so I could frequent here more often. You will be missing out if you don't dine here. Thank you Orzo for making my parents' anniversary a memorable one!"

"The food was very good. There were substitutions that weren't mentioned when we ordered. Pumpkin Seeds on a salad instead of Pistachios, kind of minor, yes, but worth mentioning. The Salmon-Belly Special permeated the restaurant, so depending on your feelings for the scent of salmon searing indoors, it could have an effect your overall dining experience. Little things compared to the indifferent service we received at our table. Our server was dismissive and never made eye contact with us. I think I would have walked away with a better overall feeling had we been treated better at our table."

"Orzo has quickly become our favorite restaurant in C-Ville. The menu is broad and has something for everyone. The service is excellent as are the wines that are selected to match the meal.The food is always hot, tasty and served quickly with a smile. I do quite a bit of cooking myself and my key criteria for an outstanding restaurant is the answer to the question, "can I make that", and the meals at Orzo are for the most part complex and not something that I can do. Lastly, my wife is handicapped and we need extra room at the table; the wonderful people at Orzo have always met our request adding to the fact that Orzo has quickly become our "go to" restaurant in C-Ville. And I repeat it is excellent service with a smile."

"Neither my partner nor I had tried Orzo before, but we'd sniffed out the regular menu online and figured it was worth the shot. We were absolutely right! We were presented a special menu for the night, which was a bit over-budget ($45/person), but featured four sizable portions.
We started with a chilled eggplant dip that I adored. I had the mussels, and was happy to get such a large number (roughly a dozen) and my date got bruschetta. We loved their lamb and scallops dishes, and then finished with a tiramisu and dense chocolate brownie. This meal was an absolute spoiler, but worth every penny.
We were seated in the front of the restaurant, which avoided the buzz of the main floor. The music was motown/soul duets-- great for a date!"

"My go to place. Love the mussels as an appetizer. Have not had a bad meal there. Wish they had a bigger beer selection but if you like wine you'll be pleased. Service was a 3 not because of our waitress who was well versed in the menu and witty but because the food took longer than usual, well worth the wait though. Recommend reservations if you like to eat between 7 and 830."

"I went with a group of 6 to Orzo for Restaurant Week. I had been once before for lunch and it was good, but many of my group had never been. We were all very satisfied with our dinners. They offered a very large menu for Restaurant Week, and I can't say that for many of the other restaurants. Everything was great! They even lost power a few times, but never missed a beat. Service was great and the food came out in a timely manner. We will definitely be back."

"Orzo is fantastic! Service was very attentive and helpful and the food was deeeeelicious!!!!! Vegetarian options (i had a roasted acorn squash dish) and they serve local and organic food (my boyfriend got the hangar steak!)...wine list is superb! highly recommend!"

"During Restaurant Week, the place is packed by 6PM. Dining early is an advantage. The food, the same as their regular menu, is great and the chef is visible from the open kitchen doing his thing. We always enjoy Orzo, and have tried many of their dishes. Best were the Caesar salad, root veg soup, pan roasted chicken, and salmon. All great."

"The restaurant is set up shot gun style with a lane and tables/bar on either side. Privacy for a 2-top is not as likely to happen. If you have a big group, they can open on the shared area in the back for a very nice event. The food is ALWAYS amazing and creative and something you CAN NOT GET ANY WHERE ELSE! There are a lot of restaurants in Cville and this always ranks in my top 5, especially now with the expanded parking."

"My boyfriend and I had a great experience at Orzo for restaurant week. It was my first time dining and our server was one of the most outstanding servers we have ever had (we are both in the restaurant industry and are very wary of the experience). She explained everything so well and helped us pick out all of our dishes. SHe gave us an excellent and thorough wine recommendation that we LOVED. The restaurant week menu was thorough and had a lot of options. they wer out of a few popular dishes, probably because of the demands of restaurant week. The appetizers were outstanding, my bf had the octopus and i had the prosciutto and mozz. The veal entree was AMAZING and my linguini with clams was very well down. Desserts were yummy."
