The Melting Pot - Charlottesville
Here fondue becomes a memorable four-course dining experience, where you can really dip into something different. "We like to celebrate our anniversary at The Melting Pot every few years. We moved to Harrisonburg from Indiana last year and decided to try The Melting Pot in Charlottesville and were very pleased. We love the experience of the fondue and think it is very romantic and nice for special occasions."

"Took the whole family-teenagers to Grandparents for Graduation weekend. Should have left Grandparents at home, but that wasn't the resturants fault! The Graduation Special menu was fantastic!The presentation of the food for cooking was so nice you almost didn't want to cook it. The variety of cheese and dessert fondues was really nice. Definitely want to come again."

"The Melting Pot does fondue extremely well, and provides service to match. Our waitress was friendly, polite, knowledgeable, and efficient. She made the ordering process easy by explaining and recommending. Extra dipping items for the cheese, court bullion, and hot oil fondue pots appeared almost magically, empty dishes were promptly whisked away by an attentive and polite bus staff.
They provide a proper martini as well as a decent wine list to compliment."

"Looking for a special-occasion dinner? The Melting Pot has it all, a good wine list, great food, super service.
We selected the cheese fondue and fusion dinner, and started with the California salad which had mixed greens, pecans, blue cheese, and a delightful dressing. The lettuce was appropriately just a few degrees below room temperature, letting us know that it had just been prepared. The cheese fondue was wonderful, and not so much it spoiled our main course.
The fusion dinner and white chocolate dessert (with bananas foster, strawberries, marshmallows and more for dipping) were mouth-watering, filling, and excellent quality.
A hint - there is plenty of food, so don't necessarily place one meal order per person."

"My wife had a birthday and her son was visiting from London so this was a special occasion. We had not eaten at a fondue restaurant before but it was a fun experience. The food quality was excellent and we availed ourselves of the special offer for a half price bottle of champagne to celebrate the occasion. Our server was fun and explained the system and options well. She was not quite so attentive later in the evening and we had the distinct impression we were being hurried and she wanted to leave early. Needless to say this did not really bother us as we had a lot of catching up to do. I would recommend this restaurant for a special occasion or for a group of people."

"We came for Mother's Day and had a reservation. We were 20 minutes early but were accomodated within 5 minutes. The food is always fabulous, but more than that: because the food is served in courses and not hurried, the conversation with my wife was wonderful and we enjoyed our time there tremendously. The server was engaging and experienced. The manager came over at the end to check on us. The service was very attentive. A great time!"

She explained each course thoroughly, offered advise on her "favorites", provided suggestions for the sauces and checked on our table often. "This was my first visit, and it was a special occasion to celebrate my son's birthday. The staff could not have been more attentive, informative, and personable. The restaurant was nearly empty on this raw, rainy night, but the cheer inside the place more than made up for the gloom without. The process and rythym of fondue practically requires cooperation and conversation, which we never lack anyway. Our main server, Dakota, excelled in explaining the varied menu options without sounding pompous about them. The manager on duty greeted us warmly on arrival and checked back a few times throughout to assure that all was well. One caution, though: the food is delicious and plentiful. You may regret it if you do not arrive VERY hungry."

"I am never disappointed. I have been to the Charlottesville Melting Pot, three times, and every time I have been. I always enjoy it. The service is above excellent, and the food is wonderful."

"Took my husband for his birthday and it was a pleasurable first for both of us. We had our infant son with us and we were welcomed graciously. We loved the food and would definitely come back again!!!"

"We were a group of four women on a weeknight. We did the four course menu. The food was great- not amazing but very delicious. The service was excellent. Manager and owner both came to check in a couple of times. The server was really sweet. Wish that she might have not been quite as intrusive on our conversation, but she was just trying to be pleasant. It was fun as a group because you can try different things. I would definitely go again."
