"My husband and I celebrated my birthday dinner with another couple. The ambience was ideal. We did not feel rushed. There was enough time between courses to enjoy each one. The only downside was the restaurant had run out of the infamous pound cake for dessert. Otherwise the meals were absolutely delicious. Our waitress was courteous and attentive."

"This is a real find and without Open Table I may never have found it. Perched atop the Wake Forest Football Stadium most may never realize this gem exists. The food was excellent and the service was doting and refined. The wine list is spare and might consider adding some German Rieslings and other whites. The open table bullets listed Cajun cuisine for this spot and so expect a great Shrimp and Grits. The scallops are excellent as well."

"The service was excellent. She was very attentive and always served from the left. The mood was mediocre at best. The flounder had little taste and was bland to look at. Way overpriced for $27. The salmon was excellent. The flank steak was tough even though ordered medium rare.
I go to deacon tower for the atmosphere but certainly not the food."

"We love Deacon Tower for lunch, but food not as good this time for dinner.Server was nice, but we felt rushed to order food, before our bottle of wine had even been opened and poured. They have offered several Groupons lately, and that seems to have brought the quality down somewhat. My scallops were good, just a little undercooked. But my husband's pork chop was tough and overcooked. He could only eat part of it, and he has had it before when it was delicious. They offered to bring another, but we declined because it takes so long when you have to reorder. For the prices, and lovely atmosphere, Deacon Tower needs to decide what kind of restaurant they are, and offer service and food in keeping with that quality"

"The food is some of the best in the city, if not THE BEST. Also the staff is very friendly and was willing to allow us to move tables so we could have a view of the field. They were great. This is my families favorite place to eat for a special occasion!"

"We did not find that the service was so good. Our waitress was in a hurry and would ask as she rushed by our table if everything was okay. My steak was tasty but very fat The salad just okay. I think that it is very pricy for what you get at the Grill. I expect excellence with a $70 meal. I also think the hostess could be more inviting especially after we braved a pouring down rain to get there. Something is definitely missing at the Deacon Grill."

"The Deacon Tower Grille is always a reliable place for a good meal and dining experience. The menu selection is good without being overly extensive. The food and wine prices are very reasonable with entrees including soup or salad. The atmosphere is calm and the staff consistently nice. Overall a pleasant erperience. My husband and I enjoy our time there and I recommend for business or groups as well. We never walk away irritated or disappointed...an 'easy' experience."

"Delightful place to eat. Crisp linen tablecloths and napkins, with full place settings of silverware and fresh flowers on each table. Food was well prepared and beautifully presented and the knowledgeable and attentive wait staff provided excellent service.
The salad were fresh and ample, the entrees (prime rib and chicken breast with artichokes over linguini) delicious, and the desserts (key lime pie and a chocolate torte) were yummy.
We saw couples enjoying private conversation, families with children, and groups of 6 or more adults in the party. All seemed to be receiving the same top-notch service. Nothing but smiles all around!
We'll be back again soon!"

"Salmon was absolutely delicious. Asparagus was cooked perfectly but it had so much pepper on it I had to scrape it off. The steak was juicy tender and cooked perfectly. They didn't tell us it came with fries so we ordered potatoes as the side. Service was very good and attentive. We would return again as there were minor issues. Great overall experience."

"Our group of four had the salmon, the rosemary chicken, the Cajun catfish, and the shrimp and grits. All were delicious! Entrées come with the choice of soup or salad. Everyone enjoyed that as well as the delicious breads that were included. It's a lovely setting and our service was very good. We always enjoy dining at Deacon Tower Grill, both for lunch or dinner."

"We celebrated our 49th Valentine's Day. Both agreed it was the best to date!Appetizer tray to start was delicious and varied with new and past favorites. Entrees were not only delicious but enjoyed the leftovers next day for brunch at home. The ultimte goodness was in the dessert selection. The chocolate cameo was one of the best desserts either of us had ever had and so unique. The cheesecake was their usual great choice! No wait. Delighted at chocolate rose for wife as we came to reservation desk. Nice unexpected touch. Service was quick and friendly and atmosphere was jovial and upscale. Always love going to Deacon Tower but this is our most favorite experience -- even more than Mother's Day and Father's Day experiences."

"The food was delicious and the atmosphere was great. There were six in our party and we had a nice big table and we were actually able to carry on a conversation without speaking loudly. Everyone in our party enjoyed their meal and enjoyed the evening."

"We chose to go to Deacon Tower for Valentine's dinner since they are open Thursday nights. We were pleased when we later found out it was a special 5-course meal for that night and another couple joined us. The appetizer trio was perfect. The tomato basil soup and salad were very good. There was a large selection of entrees to choose from and everyone was pleased with what they chose. Then came a nice dessert. The only drawback was our server was very much in a hurry to take our orders for all 5 courses at once, and we were determined not to be rushed. Our friends had not even received their bottle of wine. Everything was great after we convinced her we were not ordering everything at once. Was a nice evening."
